I must have walked by the gnome in the southwest corner of the Nexus Falls map a thousand times, without ever stopping to talk to him. Maybe that's for the best, because when it finally occurred to me, he laid this on me: What the actual heck? What are these rivers Ganaan and Rushdor? If he's referring to the streams that flow into the Falls, those are, to the best of my ability to discern, both like fifty feet long; the western one flows from a spring at the top of the Nexus Hills on the next map to the west, and the northern one flows out of Winya Ravana. They barely deserve names at all, and they certainly don't seem like full-on "rivers." And I've never seen any ruined dam lying around anywhere, and according to the Amia lore I've known, nobody has every inhabited the Nexus but the elves, who are hardly "long forgotten" and don't seem like dam-builders anyways. Is this guy having me on, here? Is he referring to stuff that used to be in the module but is gone, or maybe defunct lore that's been retconned out by more recent stuff?

...I've never once spoken to that gnome. Maybe he's there to spit out useless lore to troll all the elves who've ignored his existence all these years.

The Minmir Bridge isn't a mere footbridge, so it's safe to assume that the river going from the Nexus past Silent Bay is actually a river. The map would be far too large if they made a full sized river.

That's the Minmir River, for which the Minmir Bridge is named.

Well, there is this. Other than that, I know nothing about Ganaan and Rushdor and a possibly ancient dam!?

The dam used to be in game as some ugly rock wall way way way back. It got removed with updates around Winya long before my time as a DM. The dam didn't even have a Map note I don't think. The rivers... I Actually have no clue

The long forgotten people I have no clue who they could be, because the elves came with the Life Stone, without that, there would be no water, no need for dams cause rivers would not exist.
Part of the dam used to be seen from the top of the falls, following the water to Nexus Hills. Which doesn't actually lead to the ocean at all. The only one was the one I made in Sky Forest which was made with no intention of being either of those two rivers.

Tormak and Mahtan don't know. Therefore, I'm sticking with my gnome trolling theory.
Think about it. There's been a gnome standing outside an elven city successfully trolling them for years without anyone noticing. Somebody give that gnome a damn medal.

I've spoken to that gnome before, but this is the first time I see mention of those facts presented. Has the convo been changed? <.<
And what I can remember of Winya Ravana history and having been here.. The waters flow from portals connected to the plane of Water which were established by the elves and thus brought livable conditions to the island. Not sure, if that holds true, but that was the explanation back in the day.

I thought the plane of water theory was debunked with how illogical that was, and that physical portals to the plane would've flooded Amia years ago. <_<

That is and has been true. A portal can be any size, it doesn't have to flood the place.

I have always just assumed it to be what the gnome has figured. True or not OOC really does not matter, if he believes it to be true IG.

Based on the Map I made ( viewtopic.php?f=103&t=82456), the Nexus falls bigger river that leads past the Minmir bridge and eventually out to sea is the largest one. If you look up past it, it looks like one of the rivers that lead south from just past Kohlingen might go trough the Quagmires and eventually up or down from the Nexus Falls. There's also a third one that leads west from the Falls area and exits in Wharftown. Presumably he's talking about those?

Maybe that Gnome is referring to the pre 2007 map? When the Skull Crags were North to the River, directly under Kohlingen and the Salandran temple was on the opposite side of the River?
