Crow enters the Slanty Shanty, after briefly acknowledging those sitting outside, and heads to the bar. He pauses when asked what he wants, but orders up a nice frothy mug of ale, which he carries over near the fire and sets it on the table. The ranger sits down heavily on the couch, and stares at the mug for a long time. Crow scoots forward after a while, picks up the mug, and stands up. He swirls the dark liquid in the mug, watching it slowly stop moving, then hurls it into the fire, hard, and leaves, heading towards the docks.

After trying to offer Captain Redbeard a supply of fine arrows, in exchange for passage, Crow hops off the ship, steadying himself a moment. Whether or not the transaction was accepted, no one but the two would know, and the ranger heads to the Shanty.

Crow enters the tavern and heads to Griff, ordering up his now usual cherry juice, and turns about to look the common room over. Again, he feels out of place in his worn armor, so he sets about to remedy that, by slipping away to change into his casual clothes. Upon his return to his waiting juice, he must be presentable enough so is invited into conversation with an old friend, and former Grove member, who was chatting with a lady of like nature. They both having such dark hair, olive skin, and eyes reminiscent the shape of an almond. Their accents strange in these ocean islands, and whisper of mysteries, hidden beneath desert sands. Crow borrows a bar stool and sits with the ladies, as the more unfamiliar of the pair, sips her first taste of brandy. Introductions are made and they speak of faith, and of Gods, both known, and unknown to each of them. The conversation is light, and pleasant, as folks move about the place, and three become two.

Crow sits with the woman, who may be a year older, or ten, squinting in the reflection of the sun, off the sands, will put lines on most anyone's face, but her fine clothes and carefully applied face paints, reveal a life of ease. They bid fare well to Talyne, as she heads off to aid a friend, and they speak for a while longer, until it is time for them to bid good night, though Crow still has trouble pronouncing Meskhenet's name.

The temple of Selune was buzzing with activity today. Several onlookers went inside to witness what proceedings were in place. The moon shined and a light mist filled the temple grounds as the ritual culminated; a ginger haired woman was seen climbing forth from the waters, olive skin barely concealed by what cloth she had. She was quickly embraced by one of those present as the miracle warmed the hearts of nearly all those witness. Even a dwarf felt what could be described as kinship towards one of orc blood as they were filled with emotion at the sight.

As those assembled dispersed unto their own paths, the two went to make up for lost time in The Slanty Shanty. The two enjoyed a bout of drinks and then dueled with arms locked, fists hitting timber. Joyous laugher filled the bar as the two cackled like hyenas.

With a polite sack of coin, the two rented the available room and retired for a more private conversation. Much later, shouting and clashing could be heard from within. Before authorities could get involved a woman was seen fleeing the scene and a bloodied ranger was left prone in the room.

Two days ago, the Exonerator, once a common sight in Wharftown, returned to the town after a long absence. The strange warship all but gleamed in the summer sun as it slid smoothly into harbor, with strange clockwork weaponry bristling on the decks and orange and silver phoenixes etched proudly along its flanks. The vessel appeared to all but sail itself, powder blue sails filled to bursting with magical wind, with Valerius, Alanna and the small Saoirse expertly bringing in the ship with the help of a small army of tiny clockwork servitors. The odd family seemed relaxed and upbeat as they went about securing the ship, comfortable in their best finery. After docking, Alanna immediately went to the Temple of Selune to attend her business, while Valerius stayed behind to unload the ship. With the help of mismatched golems of all shapes and sizes and a small girl doing her best to get underfoot, several pallets of supplies and building materials from offloaded out of the ship's hold and carried to a large factory that stood juxtaposed to the small-town feel of the rest of the village.

With the shipment of goods sorted, most of the small clockwork helpers returned to the ship, but some seemed to have gotten lost along the way, turning up in odd corners of the town from then on, doing their best to fix small problems wherever they were found, with the older, absent-minded mage oblivious to some of his crew getting misplaced. Vale is seen puttering around the factory well into the afternoon, using the fresh materials to put the final touches on the new workshop. As evening comes around, the mage holds a small, quiet ceremony for Zeek and his apprentices, officially opening the door for business and paying the staff their first stipend. New posters crop up around town following the subdued opening ceremony, and Vale and Alanna are seeing getting absolutely wasted in the Shanty, celebrating in good spirits.

Valerius and Zeek are proud to announce the grand opening of:

Within the first tenday of the Clockworks' opening, Zeek and the hardworking apprentices have already divested the first shipment of heavy equipment and much needed parts to the new shipyards. Under Valerius' increasingly distant supervision, the factory is worked to capacity to catch up on the backlog it accumulated during the forge's closure for its renovation. The stern mage seems to split his time between the factory and the shipyard, though his care-worn demeanor more often cracks into the shit-eating grin the town had come to known and loathe. He seems to be possessed of more energy, the toll of the Arcanum war having finally been healed, and he eagerly jumps into projects when the yard workers need the muscle, or the magic. Hours are whiled away, deep is discussion and planning with the shipwrights and drafters.

Everyone that comes into contact with the new captain of industry comes away with a polarized opinion of either love or loathing, but it's certain that they all come away a little more knowledgeable and full of ideas. As the first spines and ribs of the new fleet is laid, it's plainly obvious that the designs are sleek and exotic, and that Valerius is intent on turning Wharftown into an engineering mecca to humble much larger cities, with the most sophisticated tools and the sharpest minds he can produce.

Late one night in the Temple of Selune, four figures could be spotted.

One was easily identified as Seldak, the other, a priestess with a long, dark pony tail hanging down her back. A third was a half orc in full plate, who kept vigil by the entrance. The final figure was hooded, and no identifiable features were seen to any passing by on the road.

The priestess and the hooded figure spoke for some time then knelt together before Selune's idol. As the hooded figure prayed, the light of the Lady of Silver shown down upon the figure, welcoming the individual into Her family.

Seldak and the priestess were seen to speak further with the hooded individual before the half orc ambled over and did the same, then three wandered over to the Shanty where the priestess bought them all drinks, sending back Seldak a refreshing glass of mint tea at the temple where he attended his duties. And through it all, Selune's light shined on the town.

Life in the humble town by the sea churned on as per usual, the distant hum of waves lapping upon the harbors cajoling the residents to bed for the night. And thus, the sun disappeared with its usual fanfare. It sank deep below the horizon and made way for the glorious moon, who's luminosity shimmered almost affectionately upon the rooftops. In particular, a familiar home - known by all of the townsfolk to be that of Dame Alanna's - was engulfed by a ring of luna incandescence. It remained this way for the entirety of the evening, nightfall lasting an hour or two longer than it should have as the crescent seemed to dote over this very niche favorably.

When dawn finally seeped through the sands of time, a small pearly gem was left glittering at the footsteps of Alanna's door. It remained there, untouched and waiting, shimmering like the moon it had left behind.

The bauble is gathered up with utmost care by Alanna. Its effects are studied, carefully recorded, and then relayed to High Priest Seldak.

In the early morning, a new vessel pulls into harbor, and is docked alongside the gleaming Exonerator. Both ships seem close in size and design, and Emilie practically leaps from the deck of the vessel as it is tied off, and is greeted by the familiar pair of Alanna and Valerius. The three of them immediately spend the day consuming an inordinate amount of whiskey and rum, and break out a great deal of black and orange paint. With the help of a few lingering Wharftown men-at-arms pressed grudgingly into service, the vessel is soon painted black in its entirety, trimmed subtly with burnt orange. The sails and rigging are stripped and replaced with inordinately expensive sails and lines of black silk. The ship's flanks are graced with the younger sibling's artwork, a snarling tribal wolf's head rendered in the same burnt orange. Whatever the ship may have been named before, the epitaph HUNTRESS now gleamed on the ship's side, orange against black. As night fell, the three were passed out cold on the deck of the new ship, amid fumes of paint and liquor.

Over the last few days, a short durpari female could be seen in the Selunite temple in the night hours. Removing her shoes before she entered, she would be garbed either in Wiltun regalia, or simple white and blues. Spending many an hour bowed in fervent prayer, something may be seeming to trouble her. But if something indeed was, she did not disturb the local clergy with her woes and simply remained bowed in prayer for the night.

Come the morn, she would leave with a donation for the temple and a quiet offering of thanks to any clergy within the temple at such hours.

The Wiltun colors would earn her a very suspicious scowl from the lieutenant, and a note filed in a journal. Though her prayers are not disturbed and she's given plenty of space, she might feel watched, and upon her departure, she notices an extra guard had been stationed less than discreetly at the door of the temple during her stay.

In contrast to the scowly Lieutenant Everguard, the albino Priestess Alanna was warm and welcoming to anyone who entered the Moonmaiden's place of worship. She is most often found sitting cross legged near the idol, arranging several bags of rough crystals in strange, symmetrical grid patterns like some sort of meditative focus.

If the drupari seemed to want her space, the leggy albino would simply mention that, as a cleric of Selûne, she offers counseling to any who may need it. The scowly Lieutenant is watched by her as closely as he watches the Drupari, and the moment the woman deems his presence too overbearing for the safe place of worship, she skitters off to try and direct his attention elsewhere.

The durpari woman would continue to tend to her prayers each night, despite the attention she received. The offer from the priestess would be declined at first, a simple excuse of "Quiet prayer should serve me well priestess, thank you for the offer" The extra presence of guards didn't phase her either, and they were treated to pleasant greetings with a smile along with an apology for any disturbance and disruption she may be causing. She would treat the 'scowly lieutenant' amicably enough as well, a pleasant smile given if he was present and watching still when she left come the morn.

Eventually, after many a night of solitary prayer she would seek out the priestess to take her up on her offer should it still exist.

A few days ago there was what may have been an interesting sight in Wharftown. Admiral Darby could have been spotted walking around the small town with a man dressed as a Warden with red hair at her side. She seemed to be leading him on a tour of the place, their first stop the Shrine to Tymora followed after by the Temple of Selune. After that they just kind of wandered around the town, with her speaking quietly to him every so often as they looked around.

Some time was spent with them watching the little clockworks, as well as inside Zeek’s forge, before they made their way to the benches by the cliff for a sit. Darby leaning against him slightly and him with his odd metal arm around her waist as they spoke quietly.

Eventually they were joined by Alanna, who they spoke to for a bit, Darby wandering off briefly but quickly returning. Others joined them slowly and the conversation seemed to be easygoing and cordial, at least in regards to Darby and the Warden.

After some time the two take their leave, heading for the ship to Cordor. All in all she seemed to enjoy the visit.

Heading for a while into the offices in Wharftown, Tuomas seemed to be expected and had been ushered in. Taking a long while, the Gnome would seem to nod in appreciative observation.

"These are very good designs. Hopefully soon we'll be able to see to their completion."
he would say to one of the men who had ushered him into the office before heading off.

As Lathander reached high in the sky, to signify midday arising, Wharftown would be witness to the arrival of supplies arriving from Kohlingen. Containing various things hidden beneath cloth, the carts would be flanked by a small patrol of guards and be accompanied by a group of hardy young men and women who made their way for the shipyards. The man leading the shipment would speak with one of the local guard, asking for 'Dame Alanna' or 'Mister Everguard' and to inform them the supplies and men had arrived. The guards would stay with the supplies until an official of the small town came and relieved them.

Whoever came would find that the supplies agreed upon, and then a little more was to be found, similarly with the men. They happily assisted with whatever task they were assigned, working diligently throughout the day.

A rather unfrequent visitor had entered the Slanty Shanty, asking around for a 'cousin' named 'Shyllia Elrian'. The most obvious characteristics of the visitor were massive, feathery wings and fairly pale skin. Outside, the young visitor may even have been heard calling the name of her 'cousin' at the ocean, longingly.

The portal in Wharftown sparked to life and they spilled out. The hooded individual in the lead held onto rope that held several others tethered together. Dwarves, hin, elves and humans shuffling along out of the portal.

The familiar figure of Rith'tar steps out and the group heads to the inner temple rooms. His features hold that serious look of his as he nods politely to the guards. The line of people he urges along are all dressed in what can only be described as rags. Some are in dire condition and they are all frightened and weary. The sight causes some of the towns folks distress, understandably so.

They all enter the temple and not long after Priestess Talyne enters followed soon after by Dame Alanna, the red headed spitfire Saorose and a sturdy looking human male. It seems that the visitors may have been expected.

Rith'tar leaves for short periods of time only to return and take up a guard position outside the guest quarters inside the Temple. There he stands even now no doubt.

The refugees in the basement continue to be cared for by the clergy and passing visitors of the town by the sea; for the most part, they appear to be healing and re-cooperating vastly. Priests from above descend to deliver steamy broths and freshly baked bread for them, dispersing among the crowd to feed those who cannot do so for themselves. After the first cycle or two, visitors are announced to be allowed for those who wish to receive familiar faces from their homes.

However, one Elven woman in particular seems to be rapidly degrading in health. Despite the exposure to sun and nutrients, she seems to be in worse condition than previously conceived. Her cheeks appear gaunt and her skin exceptionally sallow. The space between her bones soften into craters. She receives the most care and attention from healers on staff, but often she seems exuberantly bright and good-spirited for her state of health. She requests often to speak to "Seahorse", and spends much of her waking moments rambling with the little russet haired half-elf about one thing or another. When they aren't speaking, she spends her time clambering through a children's picture book; knobby digits scanning several of the words as she mumbles them simultaneously beneath her breath.

A young Mulhorandi woman, wrapped heavily in softly glowing white linen robes, cloaks and shawls is spotted hauling a nearly unconscious Captain Alanna from the temple to her home, where she steps inside for a time to help the other woman settle in. She emerges shortly thereafter, and busies herself through the night, setting up what seems to be a low-key festival in the center of the town. She uses spells and charms here and there to shape rough-hewn banquet tables and benches from stone and lumber. She flits in and out of town, coming back with armloads of groceries that would flatten most grown men. A small cooking fire is maintained as she works on preparing the feast overnight.

She never seems to move very quickly, attending the tasks at an implacable, steady grind. The heaviness to her movements and a hollowness to her eyes and cheeks speak of a great weariness, and the air around her feels more melancholy than festive, but she seems to be making a good try of it.

Likewise, shortly after Alanna was being carried off, an unconscious Aedan is seen being carried by a knightly figure, closely following Emilie. They had headed to a ship in the docks, but Aedan has yet to come out.

The morning after the revelry, the young priestess works diligently to clean up the mess, getting all the furniture back to their homes and the town returned to order. The sheer number of empty bottles is staggering, but it only seems to amuse her. The leftover food and drink from the feast is brought inside the Shanty, with a small bit of parchment tacked to the table that says "Help yourself."

Iim'mur'ss stepped out of the portal near the lamp. As she strolled through the small fishing village observant townsfolk might catch a rainbow shimmer from her long blue coat. The rays of the morning sun glinted off of the slivers of glass-like rock and gem dust that had collected on her during her work. She entered The Clockworks and downstairs to Vale's workshop where she left two perfectly cut moonstones on his workbench.

Having not really seen the regulars of Wharftown in a little while now, Aedan just appears to go about his daily patrols, praying to Selune, and other usual tasks. He's sometimes seen talking (one-sidedly) to a bear. Overall, the tasks appear very repetitive and boring. He's probably bored having no one around to talk to, lately. But he still continues to do his job despite this.

Rith'tar continues to pay intermittent visits to the recovering former slaves in the inner Temple of Selune. He has started a tab at the Slanty Shanty so that they can order whatever they want in food and drink without worrying about paying. There is also a similar tab with the local merchant so they can get gear and other necessities at no cost to them.

One familiar oracle skulks about the temple with her daily duties, assisting Seldak in the absense of the other high priests and clergy. She moves to and fro between the ground level where the idol sat, and the basement below. The albino disappears into the offices beneath the temple for several hours, presumably working on files. Or perhaps sifting through them.

With the hard work being done on the special projects in Wharftown, Aedan is often seen patrolling around the town as he keeps an eye on the various knights. At times, he approaches them to make sure they aren't slacking off, causing trouble for the locals, or anything along those lines. Additionally, he appears to have been asking around about farmers and others in a similar profession in order to aid crop production in Wharftown.

The sight of Doomguides of the Gray Watch doesn't seem to be unusual to the towns folks. Drusus especially stops by often to add donations to the towns coffers as well as big tips to Garth. Besides the local tavern Drusus is also a visitor to the underground temple.

Maybe he has just missed crossing paths with the newly returned young man. Maybe they'll catch up soon.

A familiar figure darkens the thresholds of Wharftown again as Magdalena hops off the boat and immediately starts ripping hairpins from her up-do and tossing her wrist length gloves into the sea irreverently. She babbles happily to anyone who will listen, and it seems like she's on holiday from her other obligations.

Quin slipped into the Temple of Selûne after-dark, as the moon was cresting the cliffs of Wharftown and lazily travelling into the stars. The man appeared on a pilgrimage of sorts, wearing silver and white instead of his usual flamboyant garb.
Dropping to his knees near the idol, the man closed his eyes in silent prayer - hands removing a candle from inside his shirt - a graceful slender object likely elven in construction. It sat upon a little silver stand, from this base hung representations of the moon goddesses in little holy symbols; central and largest being Selûne's...

"On this night as others in the first quarter of the new year, I thank thee Our Lady of Silver for your redemption of Aranduriel Amytholen; from the curse of the Beastlord. My dear mother, now resting in your hallowed gates ever more. Pray thee thank your sisters, the vigil eternal and always. Hallowed be thy name."

He remained in the temple, speaking softly and amicably with the priesthood until midnight - when the goddess was highest in the sky. He quietly excused himself from the others once happy she was at her peak; retiring to one of the open-roofed chambers to sing softly toward the heavens, and her silver face.

An exuberant little imp of a lady wanders about Wharftown in the late evenings, arriving by boat. She lingers, more often than not, around the Clockworks, disappearing into the levels below with steaming plates of steaks and potatoes. On many of these days, she remains until morning, returning with more plates; likely of the more breakfast variety, now.

She spends her other moments around the town watching the dock workers and engineers at their craft, perhaps hoping to glean something even in her time away from the factory.

Drusus walks into Wharftown covered in blood but not his own this time. His eyes burning bright azure flames he stops by the Slanty Shanty. A quick greeting to Garth and a donation to the towns coffers in gold is all he has time for it would seem. He leaves the way he came.

Rania would be seen kneeling in front of the idol of Selune for quite some time. Whatever prayer she seeks answered is kept silent and between herself and her goddess alone, though she is seen to smile as she rises, kissing her fingertips before reverently touching them to the idol. A large amount of coins are funneled into the donation plate before she heads off. For any who would wander by later, they would see a most curious item left at the base of Moonmaiden's statue; a bottle of fresh milk.

Since his return, Aedan would often be seen back in his usual spot within the Temple of Selune. Off in the corner, during the night, he can be seen sleeping on a bedroll beneath some ivy. At times, he can also be seen propped up against a large brown bear as he and the bear both sleep. Given the past, the head priest of the temple would appear to have no real issue with him staying there, as it's been his place of stay for a long while now, only having been vacated after Aedan hadn't been around Wharftown and Amia.

In the mornings, afternoons, and evenings, Aedan can also be seen speaking with the head priest about this and that, as well as speaking quiet prayers in front of Selune's statue.

If Amelie ambled past him, she would drop a few bags of jerky and other snacks by his side. In the case that he may awaken, she would plop down and engage in small-talk or aimless conversation. She may even ask him to elaborate on some story or another that was mentioned, but not elaborated upon whilst in public. The nobless seems to keep a vague watch of the town whilst keeping Aedan company, outside of her time used to bother Valerius.

A large gathering (at least in terms of Wharftown?) seemed to grow by the benches outside the Shanty this past night, with a few accused dirty Harpers among the bunch! Apparently this seaside town didn't have anything against them. Some elves and aasimar were seen, along with dirty nobles and witches... and was that a blind hin walking through a few times?

Reputedly, they all seemed to have a good time, telling stories and folk tales. Not all was dark in the world. Wharftown, under the smile of Selune, still harbored good drinks and friends.

And Secrets (of the forests?)!

Tonight was a busy night in the Selune temple, for at one point a woman with long red hair (albeit for one pure white streak on the left side) entered with two males in accompaniment. One was wearing the familiar armor of a Doomguide, the other a Mulhorandi priest. The two males stand back in silence as the woman kneels before the idol and makes public to Seldak, the temple acolytes and all others present what is in her heart:

Lady of Silver, I humbly kneel before you now, before all of these witnesses to make official my pledge to you.

You hold close to your heart all those who love, and so I will from here on out protect and support those who do, so that your light might shine down upon them and bless them.

You welcome all, and encourage redemption for those who seek it. I vow to always keep an open mind and an open heart, offering my aid to those who seek to turn from darkness and pain and enter into the warmth of your embrace.

For those who would try to harm you and yours, I will be a fierce aggressor, striving first to offer them redemption and if they should decline, then I will ensure they harm no one anymore.

That does not mean with violence, for violence begets only more pain and darkness.

I will always strive to be an example of your mercy, your love and your everlasting patience.

I will always try to be a light to those who seek one.

From this moment forth, I am yours, and I will serve you, honor you and use my songs, my stories and if need be, my sword to do your will.

My lady, my mother....I thank you with all of my being and I am your child and your servant forever more."

The bardess pauses for just a moment before quickly adding one final line, "...and please help me with keeping my temper in check."

A moment later, after whatever transpires between herself and her goddess, she rises, then kisses the tips of her fingers and touches them to the stone figure of Selune. There is a look of total serenity upon the woman's face, and a gentle, kind smile showing on her lips as she turns to face the two males who now smile and move towards her, their smiles of both approval and joy showing their feelings clearly.

*The human ranger could at times be seen in Wharftown, more removed than usual and keeping to herself. She would make her amp by night with her badger companion but come morning would be gone, disappearing out past the temple or down the coast. Which ever way she went she would always return for the other direction and usually showing some signs prolonged fighting.*

Late into the evening, as all but few visitors of the seaside town trailed away for slumber, one ginger imp slipped off towards the harbor. She bounded down the hill with a cautious step, making sure her footfalls were not loud enough to disturb the peaceful spell of respite over Wharftown. She made her way to a familiar boat stationed by the docks; traversing the creaky plank on her tippy-toes, arms spread out wide at either side of her. It seemed she was mostly trying not to be caught, or perhaps simply to avoid disturbing whoever was sleeping within. She slipped inside for only a handful of minutes before resurfacing with a look of contentment.

The same painstaking endeavor to skulk about is repeated as she rounds her way back to the Clockworks, disappearing into the factory for the rest of the night. She lumbers down the steps and into the pit of disembodied golemn bits until the sun rises once more. Studying, tinkering, researching, scrawling away. Despite every urge, not a single drop of coffee is consumed. The young lady works on as much as she can before she is too exhausted to continue, flopping into a dark corner of the den and curling up for a nap.

In the early evening, clashing steel could be heard down near the docks as Aedan and Amelie had a short sparring match. Suffice to say, it didn't take long for word to spread around Wharftown that Amelie was the victor. But at the same time, no hard feelings were had, it seems, as Aedan just seems his usual self as he does his work around the town.

In the early evening on the previous day, people around Wharftown likely would've seen a certain blue clad Selunite as well as the often seen impish redhead speaking in the Temple of Selune. What could be heard would indicate that Aedan was actually speaking with the redhead about the Moonmaiden and her dogma. They stood near the statue in the temple, just speaking, for quite some time, in fact. If anything could be said, it's that Aedan appeared to enjoy speaking of his deity's dogma, for the most part.

Rania enters the temple late this night, giving a warm but distracted smile to those present before she kneels before the idol of her goddess. After uttering in a soft but confident voice the following prayer, she kisses the stone foot of the goddess before rising and departing off into the night.

Selune, queen of night,
In all your beauty bright,
Shine on us here,
And with your silver beam
Unlock the gates of dream;
Rise bright and clear.
On earth and sky and sea,
Your ethereal mystery
Its spell shall cast,
Wherever leaf may grow,
Wherever tide may flow,
Till all be past.
O Lady of the Moon!

Sebastien stepped off of a boat onto the Wharftown docks with an elderly badger in tow, he limped his way along toward the land with out his crutches but his brace tightly fastened to his ankle. He set for the inn, to collect his crutches, then he would leave the village once more, this time by cart to the Delta. Not stopping to socialize, regardless of who he might see. He seemed determined to do, or finish something. He no longer wore any symbols of the Holy City, only that of Lathander, but there was no golden pin any more, instead a new brooch was holding his cloak to his neck, a roaring lion, crafted from brass.

It would be noted that two familiar people of Wharftown would have likely been seen sleeping on bedrolls beneath the benches across from the Slanty Shanty. The two people in question are fairly well known by the other Wharftowners, after all. A familiar blue clad Selunite and a blue clad red head with her shield sitting nearby.

Similarly, it likely would be rumoured around by some of the guards that the two of them shared an awkward conversation before hugging each other nearby the Shanty, as well. The guards can be such gossipers at times.

A rather irritated appearing Templar appears from the shadows of Selune's temple, accompanied by a puff of oily shadow-smoke. He draws Solace, his shimmering silver blade, and jabs it point down between two cobblestones in one fluid motion. The gesture seems frustrated and short-tempered. He takes a knee and folds his hands over the pommel-stone of the weapon, then rests his forehead against his gauntleted hands. He remains there for a very long time, repeating a prayer-mantra under his breath, the language foreign and ancient. He never moves or shows discomfort even after hours of remaining in the uncomfortable position, seemingly possessed of preternatural stillness and discipline. The only indication of his state of mind is the subtle crawling of the shadows pooling at his knees, and the flicker of eldritch azure fire sporadically licking from under his closed eyelids.
