As of late, some might notice a repeat visitor to the Forest of Despair. Sometimes carving a path through the blood crazed lycans of the forest and sometimes simply slinking along and watching them. In between attacks she seems to disappear to any but those with the best of senses.

At times it seems to be a runty, golden-orange eyed elf of sorts. Sometimes she has a worg fur over her shoulders, other times a cloak with the symbol of Nobanion. Sometimes it’s not an elf at all. Sometimes it’s a runty leopard with the same golden-orange eyes.

No matter what a few things remain the same. When she does carve a path through the lycans of the forest there is always evidence of sharp claw marks as the cause of death. Her intense golden-orange gaze seems to be searching for something, or perhaps just taking note of things no matter if she’s sneaking and watching or fighting the lycans. And she always visits the Chosen inside the temple, making room for another by the time she leaves.

After varying amounts of time, she always makes her way out of the forest as quietly as she entered.

Others might notice another repeat visitor to the Forest of Despair. A big, muscular Hobgoblin of late middle-age. He would pause before entering to say a prayer to Maglubiyet with his new silver scimitar raised to the sky.

After a moment of prayer he would carefully tread deep into the forest and carve a path of gore, with the limbs of malarites as the debris. He seemed to revel in slaughter, continually giving praise to his foul Goblin God.

"Soon! You will fear my silver more than the wrath of your weak God!" He would cry as the Malarites seemed to climb over each other to escape.

Any sort of subtle claw marks on the trees or such would escape his perception. To the Lycan currently haunting the forest, this Hobgoblin gained an almost euphoric pleasure sinking his blade into flesh. He had given a nickname to the Lycans he slaughtered. Monster-people he would call them.

He payed no mind to the eyes that may or may not watch him.

*Something seems to have visited the forest, cutting a path through its inheritance by use of teeth and claw. The lycans are attacked and put down seemingly by one such as they with curious makes, clawed slashes appearing on some of the larger trees and deep into the trunks. A warning... or perhaps maybe a challenge.

Whatever or whoever it was seems to leave after a short while being lost in the woods!*

*The slightly built lycan returns to the forest, mauling and clawing at lost ones she finds. Accompanied by an aging dire wolf her attack seem feral, almost bordering on savage at times as she stalks, corners and then kills. After some time the lycan seems to disappear after her rampage.*

*The young elven lycan finds her way to the forest of the lost ones, a warning left for her likely drawing her curiousity rather than keeping her away as she stalked the shadows and walked on silent steps. Gone was her usual aggressive stance, not venturing far into the dark forest and instead only hunting those who came to close.

She walked with an unusual caution before leaving after not too long, disappearing out the way she came and probably gaining the disapproval of the one who warned. *

Once again the howls and rabid screams are heard from this forest. Long hours of battle apparently, and then... Only silence.
For those wandering nearby it seems a tall warrior is making this place his hunting grounds, and a rudimentary camp is seen on the edge of the forest itself.

Word among the ones near Wharftown say that a norlander is making sure to kill every lycan on this forest.

Another day comes by and the camping site that's located near the entrance of the forest is quite active as the Norlander loudly gives a battle shout towards the forest... After which he enters to begin yet another hunt.

This time he seems more motivated than the previous days, as the hunt is more extensive and he makes sure to raid every possible hiding they have, making all the survivors flee towards the cursed temple... where he finishes his hunting.

After some hours he is seem carrying several trophy heads on his back and heading towards Wharftown, whistling a song and covered in blood and fur...

*The Norlander would find, at least in places, that he had not been the only one hunting the lycans of the forest. Towards the outer edges and along the borders farthest from Wharftown someone or something had made itself known. Unlike the Norlanders hunt however those killed would appear mauled and clawed with throats torn out and torsos eviscerated, attacked perhaps by an animal of equalling build... or kind!

While easily mistaken for perhaps a random curiousity by the aggressor there are marks left in various trees, claw marks to mark a boundary or even display a dominance over those who might think of coming beyond this point... or perhaps someone was making a point and leaving a message of their own, but to whom?*
