This is the new subforum for character builds. This topic serves as information on how to properly post and use the forum.

Rules:
  • All posters are expected to behave and follow the general forum rules.
  • Critique and comments on builds are welcome as long as it is constructive and does not champion a personal cause or attack the original poster.
  • When posting builds, follow the guidelines for post formatting.

Post formatting:

To maintain structure and ease of finding just the build you are in search for the following must be done with all topics. If this is not done the topic will be locked.

Naming your topic:
All topics shall begin with the prefix "BUILD:" followed by the chosen class/classes, race and description of the build, be it RP, Power build or something else.
Topics should be named with classes first, in descending order from the class which the most levels and so forth. This means a build with 8 fighter, 7 weapon master and 15 rogue would be: Rogue/Fighter/Weapon Master or Rg/F/WM

Add race and description and you should have something that should look like the below:

  1. BUILD: Rg/F/WM - Human - "Description"
  2. BUILD: Barbarian - Human - YARDSTICK

Yardstick builds:

:?: What does it mean to create a "yardstick" build?

:!: A yardstick is a definitive standard. Yardstick builds (the term is used more often in CRPGs than in RPGs but it's as valid a concept there) are considered definitive standard builds for a given character class/type. For example, "here's a yardstick build for a two-weapon fighting rogue." Also known as a reference build, prototypical build, or canonical build.
These are differentiated from many multi-class kinds of builds because though they are somewhat optimized for their roles they are generally not completely min-maxed out, and are generally single-class.
