Is there a resource thread with regards to changes to familiars or are the in the box descriptions still pretty applicable. Working on first caster build and unsure which one is best suited. Caster will be quite squishy so needs a boatload of protection, lol.

Familiars and Animal Companions have been modified in two ways: Firstly, all familiars and companions have been redesigned to improve their utility and roles. There have also been two new familiars added: the phase spider and skeleton. The phase spider is a stealth and poison specialist, while the skeleton is an undead servant focused at absorbing damage. Secondly, they receive a benefit according to their owner's caster level: • Armor Class +1 / 2 CL • Claw Enhancement +1 / 5 CL • Regeneration +1 / 5 CL • Attack Bonus +2 / 5 CL • Universal Saving Throw Bonus +1 / 5 CL • Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage: • CL 1 – 10 : 5/- • CL 11 – 20 : 10/- • CL 21 – 30 : 15/-

Don't see skeleton as a 1st level familiar unless it is alignment restricted or available at 2nd level

Reinard used a bat, until he went Full Necromancer and had a skeleton before we had skeleton familiars. <.<

Everyone loves the (not a real dragon) pseudodragon because it has Bioware True Sight. Or has that been fixed? Regards Ts Ps: Green faerie dragon glitter ftw. Sadly, this true dragon has no uses besides being very glittery, afaik.

I believe I read that the pseudodragon will be fixed to not have True Seeing. That would be neat. The faerie dragon is way cooler anyway.

Improved invisibility and ranged confusion bolts. No save either. If pretty much always hits.

Isn't imp invis on a wizard familiar somewhat redundant? It cannot be cast when possessing the familiar, iirc, so it's really just for the familiar.

I suppose it is a bit redundant, but you can always use it to buff your team and you don't need to worry about casting it on the familiar.

It can be cast as a familiar! But it's just from the radial menu under "Special abilities" last I checked, not cast spell!
