I tested an odd build, a half orc barbarian/bard/red dragon disciple it seem well for hit damage and HP but I'd like some input for feats. Let loose the creative juices!

I believe the fighter build is better, but you can just replace fighter with barb here if you want.

note the levels you take expertise/kd matter due to you getting your +2 int boost, you can't take those feats at 12 int.

Quote:
Class Race Fighter(10), Red Dragon Disciple(18), Bard(2), Half-Orc

Abilies STR: 20 (36)
DEX: 10
CON: 14 (20)
WIS: 8
INT: 12 (14)
CHA: 6 (10)

30 Half-Orc: (Darkvision)
F 01: Fighter(1): Weapon Proficiency Exotic, Weapon Focus: Bastard Sword
F 02: Fighter(2): Blind Fight
F 03: Fighter(3): Toughness
F 04: Fighter(4): STR+1, Weapon Specialization: Bastard Sword, (STR=21)

Just looking at those stats and feats would make Many-Arrows proud.

I think a Fighter would be good, but if you want a overwhelming tank, Barb class is the way to go, with a hit die of 12 plus the effects you get from RDD would make that half-orc a mighty good meat shield.

that's true. thing is w/o fighter you miss a lot of feats; stuff like improved knockdown and expertise are just really really nice to have, and unlike rage, they are always right there when you need them.

Agree. I did a bit of a look through of races and found that the Orog and or Earth Gensai would make amazing Tanks class for this build

thing you have to remember; with planetouched you are subject to insta-death via banish. I don't recommend them outside of rp reasons.

orog doesn't really get anything since the build only needs str and con, but it loses a level and an epic feat if not more.

Btw. if you want to go for terrifying rage, you'll need at least 15 barb levels for that.

Re: Genasi, if you do go for a genasi/dd, please choose at least the right subtype
(i.e. Black Dragon -> Water, Green -> Air, Blue -> Earth). Thats not a DM ruling btw, you are generally free to do as you please, but it makes much more sense RP-wise.

Gold could probably be fire or water. Water probably makes a little bit more sense if only because of temperament.

Aren't Blues rather Air? It's not that easy to put into a box. Blues like to soar over the deserts. Lghtning.
Blacks are chaotic, and water is lawful. That's a strange combination, since your bloodline would pull you towards law and chaos.

But personally, in many cases it is a bit weird. You are a mixture of essentially two very different elemental beings. Justifying that with RP is going to be wonky no matter whether you go with the Air Green, or the Water Green. Both will be a strange mix of their heritages.

But this is the build forum. :P

Earth Genasi basically just asks the question of whether you are willing to risk an instakill for some nice early level free Stoneskin and that sweet +2 str and con.

Golds are water subtype and aquatic subtype despite the fire brewth.

Blues are earth subtype despite the lightning breath. When in doubt check the 3.5 srd, it has all the dragons elemental subtypes.

Tested the Barbarian/bard/RED half-orc and I am impressed with the amount of damage dealing, question is should the build work with two handed weapons or dual wild?

From an RP standpoint, be careful going down a double bloodline route (Genasi+DD), as you will be expected to RP both traits from such a rare bloodline. It may be drawn in to question should you ever need to request anything.

Its not that much more damage going from two handed to one hand and shield, but you will notice missing eight ac. Monsters and pc's regularly swing in the mid to high 50's and your ac needs to be at least that or you're going to get obliterated by not only other players, but monsters as well.

Two handing is really only solid when you can get high ac without a shield. Same with dual wielding.

Ac is king. DR don't help when you eat two or three attacks a round and can be crit easily.

Two handing is stupid fun if you have a consistent buddy to hang out with to take some of the flak off of you, or if you can consistently do something like good DR and improved invis, or the like. But outside that, yeah, losing 8 AC is just hella rough, it's hard to make up that difference.

But if all you do is fight alongside a buddy and his summon or get buffed by a bard or cleric or something, then hell yeah, go wreck faces.

you can also monkey grip and 1hand your 2hand, then use a shield if you need to or don't if you don't.

no reason to not do it.
