Hey guys, I have a great concept in mind, however build-wise I'm a bit stumped as what to do.

Standard Human Tiefling, looking to either go 24 Wiz/4 Ftr/1 Rog or 26 Wiz/2 Ftr/1 Rog

Is losing that 2 more Wiz going to affect me that greatly?

Also, at what point do I take the Ftr and Rog levels in either case?

Losing 2 wiz will give you one less bonus feat and 2 less DC on anything calculating caster level.
With 4 fighter, you'll get a little more AB and weapon specialization if you want.

17 WIZ, 3 Fighter before epic so you can have 3 attacks a round. Save 1 fighter and 1 rogue for near the end of the build for discipline/tumble dump (usually between levels 27-30 depending on how much skill dump you want or if you're trying to work in feats).

You also lose the level 30 feat due to ecl. Make sure you factor that in. Spellswords are touch and go. They kind of suck unless you are persistent and gear them fully. Until then, you must tread ever so carefully and you spend a large amount of time leveling, being dispelled. The flame giants will be a pain. Being dispelled+tensers= hope you left room to run. HOWEVER!! Mechanical bias aside, the RP is awesome.

Yeah, I'm really not fussed about timeframe for leveling. I'm really excited about this concept to see in to the new year so a long leveling curve may not be so bad.

Is it work taking the 2 fighter at 18 Wiz or earlier?

Your DC's are going to be craptastic, so don't worry about that. Even a mage with 42 Int, cant do much against endgame saves. I assume you are going to be in tensers half the time, and really, buffing and murdering is going to be your thing, maybe with an epic summon and EMA? That being said, I would go for the BAB/ Hit die, as it will serve you better in the end.

Yeah, ideally I'd tensers alongside my EMD, but I need to plan my epic levels to get EMD, EMA, GR and relevant ESF: for my EMD.

If I wanted epic saves, I'd roll pure Wiz, so I'm not fussed

Kamina,

Just remember, you're a spellblade... so with being down 1 feat, taking EMA is mandatory, but EMD, GR and an epic focus too? Your AB, even with Tenser's will be low. Something's gotta give, is what I'm trying to say.

you can do it

16 9(11) 14 8 17(19) 8 (6), with your first point into int then the rest into strength will end you with 22 str/ 20 int and let you snag EWF at 21, ESF at 23 as the only preqs to it are 21+ greater spell focus and 9th level spells, you use your 20th wizard bonus feat to snag it. 24 you take epic mage armor 26 you use your next bonus feat for mummy dust, 27 you take ruin and 28 you take armor skin with a fighter bonus feat.

(as a side note you could reduce con by 2 if you want higher base dex to more easily fill out a chain shirt, if you plan to use that instead of ASF plate)

I would suggest going 17/3 pre epic because in my opinion 2 ac is worth way more than one to hit (especially given that armor skin is always on and frankly with out tensers up you'll be swinging in the mid 30's anyways) and you still end up with 3 attacks around with 3 pre epic fighter. If you don't you'll have to swap when you take ruin and mage armor and won't have an epic disc dump which could be problematic (though tensers gives +10 disc to even it out that is up to you)

your buffed bab should look something like

16 base + 10 from tensers +5 greater magick weapon, +12 str, +3 weapon focus so 46~ with out bless or aid which is enough to boss with, especially if you factor in bless and aid for 48.

I keep following your instructions but keep having 1 less feat than you say.

Is this 17 Wiz/3 Fighter pre-epic still?

Your epic levels should look something like this

21: Wizard(18): Epic Weapon Focus
22: Wizard(19)
23: Wizard(20): Epic Spell Focus: Evocation
24: Wizard(21): Epic Spell: Epic Mage Armor
25: Wizard(22)
26: Wizard(23): Epic Spell: Mummy Dust
27: Wizard(24): Epic Spell: Greater Ruin
28: Fighter(4): Armor Skin
29: Rogue(1)

where are you losing a feat

If it wasn't said. Make sure you take Timestop at a level. You can't learn it from scrolls.

You should be able to. Last I heard we made it scribeable but it can't be cast from a scroll.
