I would like to do a Knight Nobel concept request and I'll looking for some one willing to play a preferably Master / Apprentice Archetypical Relation ship.

I'd be happy to play either role in this weather it be the knight or the squire.

Any one seem interested here?

Can't help you there PS, as my knight has already taken a squire!

As it happens I'm actually interested in seeing more folks come up to play the nobility of Ruathym. Because the country consists of five jarldoms (Ottar, Wiltun, Nerth, Axard, Ostland), there's quite a lot of variety for PC nobles to work with, plenty of room for political plays (if that's your bag) or just plain old "win glory for myself/my family/my country!". Ruathym nobility tends to contrast a lot with say Kohlinger nobility due mainly to the secularity of Ruathym (that is, they have gods, but they're still not as pious as Kohlingers), and compared to nobility from continental Faerun they tend to be rougher-cut as well, more suited to adventuring or "gritty" moral conflict if that's your thing. Perhaps most importantly we have a lot of activity in Wiltun to work with - a few other nobles to play politics with, and lots of other PCs to adventure with or get involved in various plots.

There's a fair amount of Amia-homebrew lore (since it's quite bare in the sourcebooks) but most of it is available on the forums and I'd be happy to help anyone who's interested.

Edit: for reference, and so as not to clog the thread, here's one of the larger and more extensive sources on Ruathym, mainly containing information about Wiltun and Ostland, with some information on Ottar and brief mention of Nerth. viewtopic.php?f=103&t=82027 Libris, this should answer your question in part :)

Yeah, I thought a lot about the five jarldoms. Though I can't find any sources to study them. Any suggestions serbiris? Would be helpful if I actually knew where to get information about Ostland or Axard.

Don't worry about clogging the thread. Discuss to your heart's content. I'll keep it organized in the OP.

West Cordor (Gentlemans Club).

After a spurt of inactivity, as one of the leaders of the faction, myself and Arcane Crusader have been speaking, sadly we haven't heard much from Kenneth, but we're gonna try and keep the Club running.

So. If you're into criminal RP, from drug dealing to assassinations, all the way over to stealing and what ever other dirty trick you can think of, or just think the crowd of rowdy beligerant crooks is good company, head over to the Club, and have a drink.

Hey. We might even try to poison Wharftown again. *Nudges Alanna. ;)* <3

If you have specific questions, you may be best suited by asking the area DM's and some of us that have a lot of experience with what's been going on in game. We can get you answers to what you seek to know - since a lot of what has happened/is happening is Amia-brew stuff.

The great lore timeline thing I wrote has info on Ostland. The other Jarldoms are WIP.

BoB, I've been considering playing someone of Ostland. As I've noticed no one actually stands up against the Wiltun, Ottar e.t.c PC Wise. All I've noticed is small threats from PCs and that's not actually intentional. Having a character that is trying to counter them. If you get my saying? I'm really interested in the works of it. Or maybe work with another Jarldom that doesn't have anyone trying to represent it e.t.c.

You'll have to give up Nicholas if you do. You can't play both sides.

I thought about making a knight of Ostland a while ago, before I made Joren and when Ego was still the DM there. The problem I came upon is that yeah really all I would be doing is making an adversary, and probably by myself too as for various reasons it's hard to get PCs established there let alone convince people to join up. Wiltun has a /lot/ of PC strength which makes them more or less the decider, and the war has been going on long enough that most of us really just want a resolution out of it. As well, through the IG efforts of PCs Ostland has taken a sound thrashing by Wiltun's naval superiority choking their economy. If they suddenly gained a resurgence through PCs it might feel a bit weird. Ostland does have some tricks up its sleeve to stand as a potent NPC force, but it isn't really compatible with PCs as far as I can tell. It's just too late in the war for any additional PC support to tip the scales, and I don't think it will be satisfying to either side to try.

There's always a possibility for things BoB. I figured as much Serb. The war's been on to long that no matter what, with the Naval strength and PC activity Ostland would lose. But I guess there's always could be a spark up again even after the war. Give the people reasons to fight back if Wiltun doesn't claim the land all together. But there are some other places I'm interested in. So far there's a representative of Ottar, Sir Joren, and Wiltun, Lord Avadon. But there isn't any for the other ones.

I don't think my ideas and play style will fit in well with the Ruathym Nobility setting.

I need some sacrificial victims for my RP. I personally enjoy role-playing a sacrificial victim myself, so it would make me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside if someone that needed a sacrificial victim for their RP volunteered to role-play a sacrificial victim for mine. Sort of a sacrificial trade-off, if you will.

I will fill this role.

I would also like to offer out my Hat and invite some more traditional Drow role play. I have a traditional drow character that I lost sights for but I would like to try and revitalize her a bit more and try again with Drow rp.

Would someone staffside mind stickying this? I like the idea of people posting out on the main forum, since every concept can have its own discussion, but this will eventually get shoved down unless I keep bumping it. Which sort of defeats the purpose of linking and organizing.

Now that you mention the thread, I want to bring up this one in particular, The Witcher. I know we have a few fans and I myself am among them (I recently bought four of the novels). In fact, I actually already tried my hand at a Witcher - I went for a Ranger, skipped the mutation angle and specialised training, kept an interest in alchemy and of course, monster hunting. Ended up with a female hin with multiple bastard swords - one for general foes and one with a creature-typed bonus. Couldn't really get Witcher Signs going with my ranger spells but if I made some spell requests I could probably pull it off. I really put my own spin on it but the core always remained. I even took Big Game Hunter, Alchemist, and Butcher on my job log.

I bring this up because me and Larsaan have been looking at starting a monster hunting quasi-faction. More a loosely-organised guild of contractors/consultants hired to perform a task, or to send someone to assist a less-specialised adventuring group/faction. There's a wealth of RP for the dedicated monster hunter - it's distinct from the average adventurer in that monsters are more commonly a goal rather than an obstacle. It also necessitates specialised knowledge - a monster hunter can expect to be called in to face threats that can't be handled by the simple tactic of "summon bored epics, hit it until it falls over, or use a crapton of P&P spells". This includes cases such as extremely powerful and/or partially immortal monsters, or persistent curses. As well, a certain skill in butchery and alchemy is useful for acquiring valuable monster parts without damaging them ("How to extract a dragon's brain from a skull without squashing said brain with your mighty dwarven hammer, 101" ). We actually have a contract for monster parts already (sorry it's taking long Eurgiga!).

So, anyone who's interested - either working closely with us (gathering contracts, knowledge, networking), or simply playing a damn Witcher (hey maybe one day we can even start a Witcher school...) then by all means let me or Larsaan know and we can work you in. Or just wait around until we get established in game and there's a good chance you'll hear about us, and can hire/contract our PCs. Almost every class has the potential to get involved - obviously rangers and bards fit best (Master Scout abilities work really well with the alchemy angle), fighters and rogues fit just about anywhere. Monks work (may struggle with the mercenary angle) and oddly enough their special monk physique is more like the Witchers (DDs and PMs also have an angle on body mutation, but that's another story). More scholarly types can definitely work with us, though they're more likely to hire or advise us since the sort of down-and-dirty wilderness tracking might be at odds with the prissy bookworms (and we can hardly stop every 15 minutes for them to sit and rest!). Religious types (clerics/pallies) aren't likely to seek us out but may be sought for advice or end up working with us in the field (this happened in Witcher 1). Druids who don't get offended by the very idea of monster hunting or having a paying job might have a place.

The Orchid Lounge

Just thought what the heck, I'll throw this here if anyone is interested.

We're currently running a little cabaret style entertainment venue and bar out of East Cordor in a player housing building, while plans are made to secure a proper place to put this club. This is entirely an entertainment/bardy thing, but any who just love fun RP and want a place to hang out, feel free to PM me in game regardless of which PC I am on (Clara or Katya) or here on the forums, or just turn up. We'll be putting signs around to help anyone who gets lost.

Currently the STU is seeking new applicants and I'd be happy to help welcome new players or those with interest in to the faction. We have quite a few initiatives to pursue at the moment and DM support. So any serious players are welcomed!

The posses is pretty easy just fill out a application and you will be asked in for an interview. If all goes well you get to be hired on as training ad once you are shown the ropes you get promoted to PVT and given a badge.

The STU wants YOU!

Bendir Dale

Whilst Bendir is fairly populated outside the gates, attracting many players, the -real- Bendir Dale is quite scarce. If you think Bendir Dale is only about the silliness outside the gates, I ask that you to put aside your assumptions and see what it's really like. Play either a Halfing (Hin), Gnome, Fey or Dwarf since they can only be citizens in the small town.

Why Bendir Dale?
1) Easy establishment and involvement: fill the void and play a crucial part of the town. Our playerbase is friendly, yadda yadda... but as long as you have an active leader (Moi) you'll likely find a purpose for your character at any spot, especially with the current population. Also once Rosary's mayoral term is over, you might find yourself playing a future mayoral candidate.

2) Bendir Ethics: the town is a democracy, something my character takes really seriously as a leader. This overlaps with my first point. I'd like players to feel and actually make a difference in a small friendly community, rather than playing someone blurred in the background.

3) Being there long-term: Bendir has already established itself as one of the hubs and a community stuck in the middle of cart routes. If you're in it, the chances of your character staying are high. Unless you choose to leave of course. The activity won't die down, from everyday stuff and the unexpected.

4) Events and ongoings: I try my best to keep everyone up to date with ongoings and events. Whilst I make an effort to do all the festivals, sometimes expeditions are planned too. Bringing something up is one thing, but the actual 'doing' of something is something that's encouraged. Of course, i'll do my best to make it happen.

5) Flexibility of character development: 'Hin are always happy' is a terrible stereotype. This could be said for any race really, but your character's background, personality and history can come from anywhere. You still have the freedom to create an interesting story and to involve the community, no matter what.

PM me for any inquiries!

Hi! I just want to drop a note saying that Winya Ravana is always looking for more elfythings. If you have any questions on elvenstuff / lore, or have a character and want to hook up in the game, let me know and I can have Lyraesel help out. It doesn't matter if your elf is from a traditional elven city or born in a human one, anything is welcome!

No island for old adventurers

We all get old and that includes adventurers. So what would happen if a group of spry veterans of the adventuring business came to Amia for a last ride?

General ideas so far:
- Last job before I go out: A specific goal (might need dm-approval/assistance), I do have some possibilities in mind, but seeing how those would depend a lot on character details, I have not fleshed them out yet. Some possibilities might be finding a legendary treasure (the journey is the destination), finding an old enemies lair or simply doing something so impressive as to cement their names into the annals of history.
- It's my time to go: Every time a member of the group dies they have to make a will save with an increasing DC (thought something like +5 every time), otherwise they decide that they deserve their eternal retirement now.
- You're getting old John: Physical attribute maximum, currently I'm thinking around 16, though details would need to be discussed.
- PC races should fit generally together age wise, which most likely means primarily humans, hin and possibly half elves, though again details and changes could be discussed.

If you are interested, please hit me up via DM so we can discuss details.

Looking for Eilistraeens to help fill out the Eilistraeen Shrine! New or old PCs welcome! Right now the drow are in the minority during regular RP, which is totally IC right now. But I just wanted to put out an open call for anyone who might be interested in joining in on RP surrounding a rich culture and an interesting religion. ;)

Also, just a general note in case anyone is curious: interaction with evil drow/UD drow is welcome, too. Good or bad, that's what the Eilistraeens do (in my personal opinion!) and without you guys they sorta just sit around or dance all day doing nothing else. :D

I'm looking for someone to play a certain Halfling character that I'm going to be a bit vague in posting about on public forums.

Only thing I'm asking for is that your playtimes are within EU and US as those are times I will be able to play as well as not already having a prominent Halfling character in Bendir Dale.

Shoot me a PM if this interests you so I can send you a little bio ;)

I need a Hero!

But in all seriousness I'm seeking a dedicated partner still Preferably a Pally or Knight of some sort. Mentor character would work best. Some one who has a positive attitude and believes in the good of things. A 'good' character archetype.

I've really been looking at the Templar Profession and wondering if there is any interest in a Templar focused "band" or "group". I definitely have not though this completely through and am interested in input or if its an acceptable idea.

I do have some ideas towards a Templar group of clerics, but certainly not limiting to only clerics.

What do you think?

There are two main factions in Tarkuul, the Magistrium Mortis and the Living Guard. One is heavily on Knowledge / Power, the other is on Safety of Tarkuul.

If someone wants to do a master and apprentice thing for a Pale Master, I have a tiefling PM who is willing to take an apprentice. Your character will be glad they did, I can pretty much guarantee it.

Message me if you are interested- through the forums or in-game: my player name is Kylex (same name as the character).

Hi all.

To start I wanted to get your feelings and thoughts do you think there could be more of an evil presense on Amia?

Im not a huge Amia History buff, however, I think having a solid story backing for an Evil Roleplay (RP) that would fuel RP for good factions and hopefully stir up some fun PVP for those that would be interested.

---------------------------------------------------
I'm going to try to be vague with my ideas, because I dont want to give away any real depth to this, rather inspire ideas for others.
---------------------------------------------------

I know where I want to go with the initial evil, I want it to be Drow centered. I've seen in many posts and from word of mouth that Drow RP could be wanted, and feel there would be a real presense here.

Having a Drow Household, allowing for enslaving of underdark races ie drurgars(SP) or orcs, goblins etc. (encompasing other races to join the evil cause).

Evil Cause:
For this to be viable and healthy to the server I feel there would need to be a control in place for how much evil is contributed. Understandedly there would be Good factions coming after the Evil that is created from this, and would assume all that participated would be welcoming to the PVP aspect.
It is crucial and I cannot stress this enough that there is a tact to the evil that offers control you may know what I mean, simply put not out to ruin everyones day but enhance with fun conflict.

Control:
This could be as simple as a tag in a bio.
Players could list APVP or NPVP in their bio and display if they want to be active in the PVP playout of this. Anyone not showing either would assume to be NPVP. This would allow characters not directly involved in good-evil factions to stay neutral and contribue or not. Clarify: APVP (bystanding PC) can be raided... where a NPVP (would hopefully be avoided by targeted attacks where possible)

Evil Tact:
Well this can go any direction with good role play. Unfortunately its tought to argue that it won't go horribly south and cause people to hate their fellow players.

-I'd ideally like to see evil strategies come into play, like attacks on cities, or surface raids for any meriade of reasons. Maybe an active targets list for bounties. Somehow allowing Enslaved races to contribute to the evil from this Drow family. In turn I'm sure there will be bounties placed on certain PCs of this evil (Drow House?)

I dont' want to pinpoint a home for this as I know any good faction would want to come in with torches to purdge out the evil right away. The idea would be to work with as much subderfudge and recon as needed to survive against say... (town's militia seeking revenge for our last raid) or the militia we attacked... or the revenge for the assassination that took place.

End point:
depending on how well or bad this goes, having an end point where if certain House members fall we lose, or perhaps no end point and activing be contributing a necessary evil for plot. Evil plot that wouldn't ruin one's day but add a diversity to the "too many good?", allowing for people to voice if they want to be avoided by us completely or welcome to join in and fight, and potential tact for DM events that need a strong evil presense.

This is a feeler post as I'm tired of walking around as a good character wondering where my evil doppleganger is, and my first step in becoming that for say the next would be paladin/hero type.

Please offer feedback to this idea, I'm going to be working on a character concept so hopefully this takes off.
-------------------
Edit/Continued:
Will try to keep information to this post and will keep an eye for potential feedback/criticism. I'm open minded and would love banter this idea if interested. PM me if you feel interested in adding to the Evil numbers.
-------------------

Looking to Make a Drow House: I believe I have a name selected, would like to talk with others interested in joining the house to see if they agree or can contribute to the name.

Drow House "Barravelg'larn" From the Underdark city known as "Sariyayhar'ol" (both names I made up from Drow words) -- Ideally Any Drow that would be sporting the Barravelg'larn name I am thinking it would be better put in the Bio of the character rather than openly in the Name Fields primarily because of the party window field. Would not be nice seeing 3-4 Drow names in the party window right away... Any thoughts? Transparency could be important...

Trying to come up with a basic hierarchy for the house:
-Head Matron Mother (High Priestess)
-Matron Mothers
-House Weapon Master & Potential House Rogue - Responsible for training and engaging Drow.
-Drow (warriors,rogues,assassins, etc)
-Any Hired Mercenary groups... (stressing groups as individuals may be seen as weak to the Drow)
-& Lesser Races (typically I would assume these additions to be somewhat slaves to the Drow house)

I think the Key to this is having a decent number and want for players to participate in each part in the heirarchy. Can't go against All the Good factions out there with just myself and one to two others. Hopefully we can get to some serious trouble for some healthy fun. I've read lots of Drow Lore and feel I can authentically contribute to the Drow society in this server.
****The APVP and NPVP thing I could explain more for the purpose of this groups RP -- however it's just a concept idea at the moment.

I'm catching this up with links. Love the drow concept dvd. You're linked. I hope you get some action.

Pitching in a request for any interested applicants to the Team Evil side of Dragonkind to hesitate no longer! Disciples, Halfdragon Requests, even fullbloods -- if you can worship an evil Draconic diety by alignment (LN, LE, NE, CE), you're more than welcome to step up to the plate and join the newest resurgence of draconic kith and kin.

We've got a relatively strong basis, and I'm working actively to get cogs moving for outside supporters! Check us out if you've got that DD build you've wanted to dust off.

Particular demand and props for worshippers of Tiamat, but there'll be room for everyone regardless -- if you've got a chromatic disposition, you've got myself and a few others interested. Will put up more details in the faction thread when we've got a stable backbone.

This is still something that would be cool to do. Your character will almost certainly be involved in Bendir's current plotline.

As there's been more interest than I could have hoped for; which is fantastic. Could I request the Blackfang Marauders get advertised here?

Goblins toe the line between being comedic at times... Yet also being entirely sadistic evil instruments who would love to conquer and enslave all they survey. We're attempting to capture this, with cunning ploys and misguided schemes. The motivations behind the faction are serious, but I'd encourage you to 'act goblin' and enjoy it. You're craven and cowardly... yet in numbers furious and bold.

We have a loose plan for faction motives, but there's always scope for new schemes and ploys.

As I mentioned in the Character Concept thread, I'm still looking for someone who's interested in playing an interrogator/"reeducator" type of PC. Can't fully explain the need or the idea here because the end goal is dependent on a few events that are still in flux. The gist of it is you'd be helping to take some bad hombres and make them good hombres. Well, not necessarily good, but less evil for a specific cause. It will involve espionage, probably some wetwork, and a field trip or two to Faerun abroad.

If you've ever wanted a reason to roll a Solid Snake, Revolver Ocelot, Sam Fisher, Black Widow, Winter Soldier, or Ryu Hayabusa, now's your chance. Chaotic alignments would fit best, though Neutral and maybe even Lawful Neutral would work, so long as you're fine with the idea of subverting and undermining the authority of a few sovereign states. None of them are local to the Amian region, if that matters any.

Edit: I feel like it goes without saying, but any Anonymous, Guy Fawkes, or V for Vendetta references will get you summarily executed. You're better than that. We're all better than that.

Ok. Hi everyone!
I've been spewing out quite a few ideas lately, and I'm not sure how many people would qualify for this, or even feel like doing this. An Assassin or Rogue mentorship.

So, I'd be looking for ideally an Assassin who could in some way teach a new character I'd make for this how to be an Assassin. A lot of this can be talked about in PMs, or other OOC communication, but I would also like someone who focuses on something other than just the martial abilities. If you got some way of making him learn magic? Great! Teaching him about poisons, etiquette, stealth, disguises? Also great! Essentially, I'm looking for a way to have a new character taught from the ground up. Starting completely blank, I don't have a build yet, so it can be monk, SD, ranger, fighter, anything. I don't have a background or personality yet, so that can still be influenced by the mentor.
My biggest inspiration was Durzo Blint and Kylar from the first Night Angel book, by Brent Weeks, but unlike these it can also be a more... friendly relationship. At least if you want to.

So, anyone interested? Last time I tried something along the lines of this, it failed due to time zones. While I tend to be able to be online later in the weekends, I live in Europe, which means weekdays are limited to going to bed around 5 PM EST. So someone who could play during those times would actually be nice. Also, while going farming can be pretty fun, but I would like to delay that a bit. So if you'd enjoy taking it pretty slow, that would be helpful.
If anyone is interested, please send me a PM. Any questions might also be better in PMs to not clog this thread.

Thanks for taking your time reading this,
Robbi320

Hm. Thanks commie, but I'm not sure about you. ;)

Mainly with Malcolm. I'm not sure whethere really want to retire him, but I think doing anything with Pitt makes me unsure whether I would be able to still do stuff on Malcolm.

Second question, and that is a difficulty I have with many characters. How do I seek out Pitt? I just don't know how I make it not be 'Hey, I just metagamed you, want to teach me stuff?'...

RP Recruitment: Tarkuul.

The Living Guard

Tarkuul is in need of PC Guards, called Living Guards. They're Tarkuul's literal Living Guards, primarily PC played, who uphold the law of Tarkuul. There is room for promotion, and a lot of RP opportunities within the City as a Living Guard.

Magisterium Mortis

The Magisterium Mortis are primarily PCs who are either Wizard / Sorcerer / Bard or anything in between that has the ability to use the Weave (Shadow Weave / Traditional Weave). These players are the backbone to Tarkuul's RP Knowledge / and there is a lot of room for RP Advancements / Oppertunities.

Other than the two primary factions in Tarkuul, we need PCs in general. There is room for everyone who is willing to function inside the city. Feel free to PM me.

The Living Guard
Suggestion about the guard, and I mean this really nicely, sorry if it doesn't come off as this.
1. Be a bit more active. I know you have one person, but I haven't seen the PC online in a while. The rest: no idea. (This might be lack of players, but point 2. is the more important one in my opinion)
2. Have a person to talk to. Yes, with your post, this now is you, but links tell you to PM Murkoph and bobofwestoregonusa... Both are not the people to talk to anymore, as far as I know. If you want to give the job of bugging DMs to change stickies, PM me with the information I'd need. I could also combine the old posts a bit. So, if you want me to write something up, I'd be glad to help. (This might seem weird, but I'd be glad to help)
