I am currently having issues with the two new HAKs. I tried to download them and put them in the HAK folder but it doesn't do anything.

amia_v3_plc.hak
amia_v3a_top2.hak

Did you export them from the rar into the hak folder? Aka, unzip them?

Yes.

Hrm. If they are unzipped in the hak folder, you should be good. Did you restart your nwn?

I found both of those files in an old folder inside the NWN hak folder. I dragged them to the desktop, then dragged them into the main hak folder. I was able to log in after that. I think they are old files?

Going through my HAK folder and looking through all the files. Making sure I have all required and updated. Everytime I try to download the required files, they don't come up right. Example : amia_v3a_top2.hak turns up as amia_v3d_top2.hak

Really strange. The download itself seems to work, as so many others have no issue with it. The haks you need to have in your hak folder are:

Amia_v3a_top2
Amia_v3d_top
Amia_v3_plc
Amia_v3_music
Amia_v3_override
Amia_v3_skyboxes
Amia_v3b_a
Amia_v3b_b
Amia_v3b_c
Amia_v3b_d

Any suggestions on what I should do? I've tried updating the files, and reinstalling them all and unzipping them. Nothing works.

My suggestion is to move your hak folder on your desktop. Make a new hak folder in your nwn directory. Extract all the files you have downloaded in it. Make sure all of them are in there. Restart your comp, and then check if it works. If the problem still persists at that point, make a screenshot of your folder for me.

Alright. Give me 10 - 15 minutes.

I ususally find that the most basic issue is that the hak files extracted into subfolders. Move them directly into the NWN/hak folder if that is the case. If the name is different and you are following the links here then I just don't know.

Alright, I see where the problem is now after looking at the screeny you sent me!

All the files ending in .7z are not extracted. .7z means it is still zipped, with winzip 7. You need to unzip those files into the hak folder, and you will be good to go.

Alternatively, you can download the .rar files. Those need to be extracted as well, just with winrar instead of winzip.

Followed your instructions Pony and did not work.

Out of curiosity, when you unzipped the files, did you...

Unzip and Extract to: (NWN hak folder)

Or, Unzip and drag, into the folder?

Does that even make a difference?
Either way, your Avatar is fitting in this instance!

Send me another screeny of your folder.

Sorry, the Update page links were not correct. I'm still very new to html. They're fixed now, just refresh your browser and try again.

Having the same exact problem about the files changing themselves.

(Edit: So, the file still seems to change, but I renamed it to what it's supposed to be called and everything worked.)

I double checked the actual file on the server that the link leads to, and the hak that's packaged inside is indeed named correctly.

I've tried this, all instructions + Processes and nothing seems to work.

Download the winrar variant, and test it.

EDIT: Pony beat me to a reply, try his idea first. Still having issues, reply to the following.

So, to clarify. Exactly what issue are you having? You've said "issues", but not actually explained what they are. Do you get a pop-up message upon trying to log in? If so, screenshot it, show us what it is.

Also, what's your computer's operating system, out of curiosity?

Unsure what my computer's operating system is. [Stinks with Computers.], Pop up message just says I am missing those HAKs.

I don't know where to find that.

Post subject:  Re: Issues with the HAKs

Ahh... I just saw that Glim provided a zip and a zip7 variant, not a winrar one. Sorry, I did not see that. This is my mediafire upload of the same files in winrar format. I hope that solves your problem. The download will be slower.

Okay, in that case. When you go to your "hak" folder in NWN, do you have the two files "amia_v3_plc.hak" and "amia_v3a_top2.hak" in that central "hak" folder?

If you do, that's just weird. But, chances are, you don't. You're gonna need to download those two files and put them in your "hak" folder. Make sure that you don't rename them, and you don't have them in any subfolders. The stuff in your "hak" folder should be files ending in ".hak", and nothing more; the game will completely ignore any subfolders in there, and any files in those subfolders.

Use the download link Pony just put up there to redownload the files, and do as I mentioned above, and you should be good. I'm also uploading a .zip file with the updated files, just in case you can't open .rar files. I'll edit this post with the link when the upload finishes.

EDIT: Here's a link to the files in a ".zip" archiving format. Almost any computer can open them by default, without extra software. If you need it, download it here:
