How do I stop from trying to find the master server when I log in? :) That 20 seconds or so is precious game time.

Find the 'hosts' file.
(on Win8: windows > system 32 > driver > etc )

Open it with notepad.

Add these two lines to the bottom:

0.0.0.0 nwmaster.bioware.com

0.0.0.0 nwn.master.gamespy.com

Ok, where would I find this 'hosts' file? Keep in mind I'm a complete noob when it comes to this sort of computer stuff. I can dismantle hardware and stuff, but i'm the suck with software.

If I am not mistaken it supposed to be located in "your disk with windows/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts", though you won't be able to edit it if just try to open in notepad, you will need to run your notepad "as administrator" first, then open it in there via "File>Open..." and find it in where the location of "hosts" file is. Then add those lines, and save it.

Oh, and that hosts file, as well as folders above it, can be hidden as system files, to make them visible you will need to push "alt" button with any windows folder opened, that will bring your a menu, where you should pick "Service > Folder options" (or something similar, as I have russian windows, and it is named in russian there), choose "view" there, and change button from "hide hidden files" to "show hidden files", as well as uncheck box with "hide system files" or something like that and accept all changes after that.

Think I got it....now...

do I need to use the # sign at the beginning of the line? That seems to be what's going on when I opened up the file.

Nope, if you will use # it won't work, as that sign # - is a way to make system ignore that line. So, for example, if you will need to re-enable master server check, you can just put that # at the start of the line, instead of just deleting them.
