Trying this again:
I am unsure if this behavior is actually a bug, so forgive me if it is not. I tried to heal and buff an undead companion (Blackguard wraith and SD shade companion) yesterday using the Inflict/Negative Energy (Inflict Serious and Critical Wounds, Negative Energy Ray) range of spells, unfortunately I was unable to target said companion because of the areas Friendly PVP settings which prevented me from doing it. I tried this again in several areas (Lowland Swamps, Tarkuul, Shadowscape, Shadowscape outer zones) to the same effect. Is this something I can expect to occur throughout the module, as its quite a considerable chunk of a necromancer's utility being prevented.
I imagine that the Friendly PVP settings are there to stop players blowing each other up, but if this is something that occurs throughout the module, would it be possible to consider a "widget" or something along those lines to allow players to cast "harmful" spells on their own summons at the very least if not their parties summons?
Sorry for the previous posting in the General Chat, I didn't realise I was potentially reporting a bug, it was more aimed as a question regarding PVP settings on the module in general.

Anyone else tried this or have any input on pvp settings?

Would anyone mind at least volunteering to try this on their character with an undead companion? Just try to cast an inflict spell on it so that we can narrow down if this even is a potential issue?

Works fine on my wizard. Negative Energy Blast. Requires no targetting.

Yes, Negative Energy Blast is the exception to the negative spells. Can you try the Inflict spells and Negative Energy Ray please, since they require targeting the companion NPC.

I just cast Inflict Light Wounds and Harm on my Animate Dead Wraith in L'Obsul middle, which is Party PvP. That worked flawlessly. I don't know any Friendly PvP area I could go to right now to try that.

Thanks Ts, that sounds promising. Could you give it a go in one of these areas too? Lowland Swamps, Tarkuul, Shadowscape, Shadowscape outer zones?

Ok, I tried this with my cleric against undead domain minion and I was able to cast inflict spells on it. The problem occurs when I try to use the blackguard inflict spells on a blackguard undead, that is when I get the Friendly PVP settings. I tried this in exactly the same location (the minmir bridge tunnel). Ts, did you try this on a wizard/sorc? If not, could a wiz or PM please try this also?

I tried it only on a cleric. I would believe that the targeting rules are part of the spell cast/ ability used and don't depend on the kind of summon (or party member).

Then the fact that the Blackguard version of the Inflict spell does not work on the Blackguard undead summon, does indeed look to be like an issue? Still, I'd like to find out if the Wiz/Sorc spells work too, as i'd wager that the Wiz and Sorc spells are most likely to be used on undead for buffing and healing purposes, since the are the more common guardians of undead on Amia (Palemasters and necros).

I passed this to Sune to see if he knows what's going on here.

Alright, so we've discovered that this is something set at the hak level and it can not be changed with out doing a hak update, so this is back burner stuff.
