I was thumbing through the Races of Faerun book today doing some research and I was wondering..

is there any chance that there is in the works, or a plan to one day include Iluskan as a subrace?

We have a fair handful of human subraces as it is, I will concede, but it seems slightly lopsided. Iluskans are among the main subraces listed in the RoF book (among 7 others for humans) and occupy 6 pages or so. Meanwhile we've got stats and subraces supported for the Chultan, Durpari, Ffolk, Halruaan, Shadovar and Tuigan who altogether barely cover a page and a half.

There are mountains of specialty products and lore for each of these groups, I'm sure, but still.

Thoughts, opinions?

The chances are that there won't be new subraces added, unless Disco gets a hit on the head and forgets his previous oath that no new subraces will be added.

Dwarves and Gnomes need more love than humans.

Numbers, I'd have to kill you for that. Nobody mutilates my man except me.

dwarves I will concede - there are several subraces untouched for them.. the gnomes are only missing "Forest gnome" though, going by the RoF.

I'm pretty sure you can write in a subrace for humans, you just don't get any special additions or anything since, as Nekh said, Disco's not gonna add any new ones any time soon. At least you'll get to see it though?

Half-Elves are far worse off.

Subraces are a joke.

I have NEVER seen the reason to have area-spesific subraces and so on.

The 3285634236486783456347857834687 different kinds of elves make me want to kill everything that has pointy ears.

They're supposed to represent regions, and I guess it's nice flavour. The stat bonuses are silly, though, since they don't get that in PnP either.

It would be great if we had a complete set of standard subraces. Even better if we had never included things like Snow Elf, Shadow Elf, Elfling or Faerie (which don't exist in the Realms). But alas, this is how it is.
