I love you Jes. This is exactly what I needed, and has not only helped with bringing a few of my favorite Amian characters into my first non-trivial PnP games, but also has made me want to come back to Amia.

Guess I'll see y'all in game.

I'm bumping this because someone asked me to!

Also, because I've been asked several times in the past month or so, I want to link folks to Amia-Specific Dragon Disciple lore, since I know that sometimes people glaze over the Lore forum. I'll highlight something important, as lain out officially by the DM Team:

•Many paths.

•Always a ritual.
•Always chosen.
•Must always be within 1 Alignment Step of their heritage Dragon's Alignment to progress.

Also, keep in mind that as your character unlocks their bloodline, they will start to feel differently about the world as they are shaped by the alignment locked away in the core of their heritage. Metallic kin will learn to hate Chromatic Kin and vise versa. On Amia we offer a free planar option (albeit Evil) that exists outside the usual hate cycle and that is the Shadow Dragon Disciple.

Metallic kin and Chromatic kin are not buddies. It's a bitter hatred that rests between them, born of their very blood. That is how the DM Team has ruled it works - and if you feel that differs from what you think it should be, then I encourage you to take it up with the DM Team and (until they say otherwise) continue to adhere to the lore rules they have in place.

As a reminder...knowingly deviating from this could come with some repercussions, especially if it's disruptive!

Quote:
Note that a DM does not have to grant this perk, especially if a PC wildly differs from the established canon details of that dragon type or is not within one-step of their dragon type's alignment.

Note: I'm just a player, and I haven't seen anything myself that makes me want to highlight these things, but I've heard concerns and requests for clarity, so I'm just trying to do everyone a favor by highlighting these points!

Thanks and have fun playing! Especially with your dragon kin, because they're awesome.
