I don't know if you're welcoming comments, but I find these pretty interesting. I absolutely love the bottom left corner of the second one. There's something so gestural about the cloak spilling onto the ground that's really cool. The rim lighting you have on her torso is super great. I'm interested to see where these go when you fully develop them.

Comments and critique is welcomed. These are still very much WIPs and I can even display the under drawings if you would like but I feel for the perspective one all the line might confuse folks.

I am doing a project for school and am doing a narrative- I will need to do five pieces total. I've decided to do art that ' documents' Tempo's new life on Amia. I think of of the next few images will be the war, on the fornt lines.

My suggestion for the first one would be to add some strong, stark rim lighting. It makes sense considering the extremely bright back light.

EDIT: Also, the perspective might be interesting to see on the docks one. It appears that you have the horizon in the middle of that upper wall, but for the character it almost looks like the camera is at Tempo's eye level. I think that's what looks wonky to me, anyway.

You have very impressive talents, Passionate. I'm a little green with envy -- I wish I could create art with half as much ability as you've demonstrated, even in these two incomplete pieces.

I'm sure you'll have people knocking down your PM box soon wanting commissions for their characters!

I think I will be adding lots of lighting and halation (sp?) around the figures admittedly the horizon does not match the figure in the fairground however I will post an image displaying the perspective lines- a current big issue with the image is the boat and docs have no sence of weight right now.one more details are added the image As a whole will look much nicer-keep an eye out for update on this on you may see a PC or so you might recognize ;)

Oh well if any one wants to commission me they can - i drew that one portrait for shade that's almost finished the horns just have to be fixed and the suit defined. And I'm sure that if you keep working you'll probably be better than me one day!

This may be a bit confusing to see at first but here's all my lines- the extension has been cut off a while to where the two vanishing pints were. Right now I'm working on setting that leg down correctly.

The only thing that I'd change on the first one is reverse the arm positions on the dead guy/chick. Make the right arm hang loose. Just seems more natural to me but that's more of a personal preference than actually something that is off.

A UV map is like a 2D representation of a 3D object. It's kinda hard to explain but it's really not that complicated. You already have all the shapes drawn out and you basically 'just' color them in.

If you look at this image.. the UV map is the cross shape under the cube on the far right. That cross shape represents all the faces of the cube.

Now, a little more complex UV would look like this

It's the same concept it just looks more complicated than it actually is. I've colored certain areas on the UV map (on the right) and you can see to which parts of the model they correspond to. The yellow bit in the middle, with the black arrow on it, represents one half of the chest. The other half is mirrored to the other side of the chest because the UV maps for those face of the model are overlapping.The yellow part next to it, without the arrow, is half the back. I don't know how else to explain it...

I noticed those balls a few posts ago and thought they were great but seeing them up close now I'm just amazed at how good they look. The rope, the shiny bits, the shadows.. everything is great. Awesome job!
