Trying to help my friend set up NwN on her computer. Got it installed off GoG, tested it, it worked more or less, then I installed the haks, went to open the game to test those and it consistently is giving error messages and won't open the game anymore.

I'm not sure if you can do it without GoG's game client, GoG Galaxy, but try and have them 'verify/repair' the game. (It's listed under More>Manage Installation>Verify/Repair) And what does the error message say, if anything?

Honestly I can't remember exactly what it says I'd have to go look later, and I definitely run mine without the game client and mines from GoG games. Like I said it worked, or at least opened and ran, fine until I put the haks and tlk in then it was like "Newp"

It's the 169 critical rebuild patch which was released to fix bugs and problems with getting v.1.69 to work properly. Using it usually fixes whatever is wrong.

CDKEYS:
Do you still need to email GOG.com through their support-link and request new cdkeys. Would be the first thing to acoomplish. Once you verify if they do or did not send you the "working" set of CDkeys. (I've bought 1-3 version off gog.com and ran into this problem). So yeah, email their support if you have CD-key issues. Usually a 2-3 Business day process.

UPDATING.
You need to get

Critical Update 1.69.
This is a update applied to NWN to allow it to update itself. There are links still around to download this, PM me if you need.

CEP v2.3
haks and tlks.
haks to hak folder; tlks to tlk folder. I'm sure I can hook up a link to this if you need, PM me.

AMIA specific updates

Got it to work so far thanks for all the suggestions. Adjusting some compability stuff and doing the 1.69 rebuild seems to have done the trick.
