you can pick up more strength in epic, and perma freedom from the class, plus bonus saves, frees up your gear slots.

seriously, being able to equip the +6 str belt helps a lot on a MAD class, and the to hit and MS isn't bad either, plus 2 free epic strength or whatever else you want from their feat list.

14 all stats except 8 wis and going 18 cha 18 str is pretty standard bardi-ness, and you can do the 25/5 with it no problems.
