And finally people playing villains and not being forced to play down how evil they are because other players are to over sensitive that they just cant have fun with someone else being more powerful than their character. I miss the Horseman of the apocalypse, the banites, Cyricists, and hilarious Loviatarians. People who could play evil without having to break server rules.

Was sitting around with a bunch of guys I usually roll with, and this new person I had never seen. About 15 minutes into dinner (we were actually just eating at a table talking about some dm event that happened if memory serves) I get a greentext from the new guy.

Greentext; "Wait a minute, is this the evil faction?"

My greentext reply; "What?"

IC; "I have to go now."

And then he portaled away.

It was a tieferboy Bri invited back to hang out with the fortboys.

Then ciroc walked in and I forget what he mentioned but lmao the tiefboy said that in purple text and ran away from us

I also miss the old Grove story-telling area. To my mind, the edge of that area was always like the Sky Forest and Guldorand turned out to be - perched on a cliff edge looking out over the distance. I totally don't get that feeling from it now - the sense of height and wonder is gone.

Afraid the old one was actually the wrong one. That area was never meant to be "atop" on anything as the rest of the geographics clearly showed. It always lay between cliffsides with alake towards the area where the Shrine of Eilistraee was.

So now it is correct :P

I understand that. But the previous design gave a different feeling that is now lost.

The actual treehouse in the old Grove was cool too, it was the only area with multiple levels.

My last time as an active player on Amia was so long ago but I miss the old tunnels under Bender Dale, the old Cordor but mostly the old players and all the memories and good old times. Of course, I also miss the old Shrine of Eilistraee too!

The old elf gang, especially Voronwer and his propensity for attracting all the hate.

The only thing I really miss is the huge amount of players we had. Having 50-60+ people on meant there was always something weird or funny going on and could make you feel like just a tiny cog in the machine, which I loved.

Yeah, so much!

There are a lot of players I miss too, but it's nice to see there are a number still around, even though I can't play all that much anymore.

Bar fights at the Logjammer and hanging out in Guldorand with Tempurians when Beldor was a Barbarian. Before it got all annexed by Cordor and ghost town-ified.

Brawls at Kampo's where my STR monk dressed up as a luchador and went 11-0.

I do NOT miss Cluckzilla, may it burn in hell and be served as nuggets at a roadside McDonald's.

When we got kicked from the server, and would all hang around in the Gamespy chat, just shouting things. Fun little bits about whom caused the crash this time, or how close someone was to a boss before the boot. Would pass the time before being allowed back on the server.

I loved the blame game if it was a crash, rather than a reset.

I miss the random epic battles that regularly broke out in the middle of East Cordor. Hellballs and dragons for everyone. It was beautiful.

And the more carefree attitude back then..or at least I remember it being more carefree. I mean.. I was bored one day and had a zombie polymorphed Krin attempting to beat the zombies in the old Cordor graveyard into submission by declaring himself their king. I was very bored. I didn't think anyone was around, but I was hoping a random newbie would run in to level and it would be a fun scene to play out.

Instead some DM started possessing the zombies and they named Krin their king. He led them marching out of the graveyard into Cordor...where they were all horribly and dramatically slaughtered by guards as Krin fled. It was a masterpiece of random, stupid nonsense and I loved it.

EDIT: Oh and the old tree and bench on the hill in front of Cordor that my character and his group of friends always hogged up. I was still very new to the whole 'RP' thing back then and the silly RP with the great players behind my character's best frenemies taught me a lot. The fond memories I have of the stories we played out together are what keep me coming back to Amia all these years later.

It was always Krin's fault.
