A thread for showing off the mask your character will be wearing to the Wharftown Masquerade party that information can be found here.

Aedan, of course, will be wearing the mask he's had for a long time, since the previous Masquerade hosted in Wharftown. An ornate wolf mask, painted with blue and white.

Rook will be wearing something very similar to this corvid inspired mask, though the feathers would be real and woven with little moonstone beads on silver thread. Her makeup will be charcoal black to fill in the space between her eyes and the mask.

(( the idea is to wear masks and then not identify who anyone is or say who you are right, not until the end?

((Normally that's how it is, but Wharftown masquerades are just meant to be fun to wear a mask and dance and the like. I don't think the last one had any proper guessing involved. XD))

There is a box of masks item that can be purchased from one of the merchants in Shadowscape's square. It contains several various masks.

Otherwise, try hoods, hats, and helmets?

// I checked with Mezwar an hour ago and it wasn't there. Hats, hoods and stuff are mostly helmets and hoods. Considering masks only cover the face, many not even the mouth, would it be acceptable to just say that you are wearing a mask in bio?

// Yeah. The mask box isn't really sold anywhere anymore, that anyone can find, it seems.

I vaguely recall it having some issues with characters and was temporarily removed for debugging.

Nope it is still sold by the djinn, still having the same old issues that cannot be fixed.

It only has issues if:

- you have a leto'd race
- you have a different pheno on your race (aka you are a human using the elf model, a half-orc using the human model, etc.)

There is no way to fix that. If you have any of the above you can only make a DC requestm picking one of the masks and put them on a separate vfx widget.

It definitely used to be in a few NPc merchants tho, too.

With testing one of them last night, it doesn't actually seem to properly sit on certain characters, even if they're standard races, without phenotype changes. Aedan, for instance, is standard human and it sat halfway down his face when we checked it out. But then on someone like Rook, it sat perfectly on the character's face. And then again, with Nimiwae, it sat halfway down her face. So I dunno. LMAO

It also depended on the mask. On Thuravya, mask 1 (the red and black one) sat perfectly, but the others didn't quite.
