In case you missed it, there's a custom script in that increases the Max Dex mod of all armor to equal 9AC.

Full plate is naturally 8AC + 1 Max dex mod = 9AC

Half plate is usually 7AC + 1 Max dex mod = 8AC
Now Half plate is 7AC + 2 Max Dex mod = 9AC

This applies to all armors. Examining an armor will tell you it still has its original Max Dex mod, but the character sheet will still give you the new improved max dex mod if available.

Not a Dev. I assume its to create equality between the different armor types and to get some variation between people either using just pure cloth or Full plate.

I think it hempers dex builds a bit. But I do not know what they had for idea behind it yet.

Cloth has no Cap, so it does not change anything for full dex builds.

The reason was that before it was either you go cloth or full plate, and anything not cloth was by far inferior to full plate, even with dex.

Now it is balanced out. You can get as high AC with chain as with full plate, just need to invest in dex.

With cloth you still have no cap, so you can still go beyond all those armors. This has no effect on full dex builds, but makes builds that have some dex but not full not completely mandatory to wear full plate to reach any decent AC.

To be fair the armour AC/dex thing for Dex builds still confuses me... and I play a mostly Dex built character! lol

What's the confusing part?
If your build has less than 9 dexmod, go with armor.
1 AC Armors can have max 8 dexmod now, increasing AC and dropping Dexmod all the way up to full plate where it's 8 armor and 1 dexmod.
If you wanna find out how much AC/Dexmod you can get on a particular piece of armor, look at the base AC on it and subtract it from 9 to get the max dex ac bonus.
So if you have 14 dexmod, go cloth because that's going to give you 14 AC from your armor slot, instead of max 9 as cloth is uncapped and gives 0 AC + Dexmod compared to all other armors that give X AC + Y Dexmod where X+Y=9
