Hello there,

I have a few questions about rebuilds, because I ... really didn't know what I was doing with my level 14 Sorceress:

1.: Because I'm from Europe and also don't have a lot of time at my hands (Work and a lot of other games, you know what I'm talking about :D ) I don't really have a lot of time to play good old NWN and ontop of that most of the time I'm playing, nobody else is. So I don't think I'll get enough dreamcoins to rebuild my little Hin Sorceress once I hit level 30.

2.: I've heard there are free "rebuilds", that just mean you delete your old character, create a new one with the same name and start from level 2, but with your stuff and gold from the old character, and also keeping your "character" in terms of friends he/she has made, you get the idea. Friends are rare when you're playing alone :(

Am I right with this? And if so, how would I have to start with this?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if I'm posting wrong. I'm not really a forum person.

This post can help answer your questions. viewtopic.php?p=1380992#p1380992

The "free rebuild" you are looking for is a "self rebuild."

Yes, the free rebuild (that still requires DM approval) will leave your character with the same name and items, however you will have to regain the lost levels on your own. How may those are, depends on what you need/want to change.

Thanks for the quick answers, I went over my build though and I'm not sure about if ist actually worth it/If a DM would even aprove it anymore.. All I would really Need to Change is dodge into something else, and also after some discussion with someone who knows more about all of this than me, I am still playing a sorcerer, so as Long as I get epic spell Focus, improved combat casting and improved Expertise my character will be borderline broken anyways :D

But really, thank you None the less!

every character generally gets a free feat swap and sometimes if the feat is clearly terrible or a mistake it wont even count as your swap.

As long as you are only changing one feat (no more feats, no abilities, no skills) then yes, you can rebuild for free and get the xp back.

In some cases you can even get the feat swap done in game with little trouble. I've had one instance where I hit the wrong feat. (Unfortunately with my brain trouble I sometimes can't spell cat if you spot me the k and the t.) Another time I didn't realize you couldn't get epic spells without a base 20 in the casting stat. In both cases the DMs were cool about fixing it posthaste.

I was just told by a DM today that this only works for up to two levels that you made the mistake on.

I am currently trying to get a level 9 feat change only and I am level 15.

I was informed that I will need to make a request and get it approved.

I am wanting to get clarification for others and myself.

We made a small change to the pricing of DC rebuilds. Minor changes are now free if approved. A request still has to be made for documentation reasons.

A rebuild is considered minor IF the only change is EITHER

only up to 10 skill-points total

OR

only up to 2 ability points total

OR

only one feat.

Please understand that this is an announcement, not a discussion.

We have to draw a line somewhere and it was decided this is it.

This is independent on how many levels that would take to go down (and up again)

Thank you. That is what I needed to know. I'll submit a request in the character rebuild forum.
