*Rumors in North Cordor

The open grave of Carundin, Hero of Cordor who had battled dragons in its defence, has been found by several guardsmen.

On questioning people in the area, reports that an Iron Golem stood guard while its Master, name currently unknown, dug in the confines of a tent placed over the grave to hide the deed. Others also report that fires were laid around the grave in a ritualistic fashion, which this man would sometimes place vials onto which contained mysterious substances.

At one time, the man's tent was seen to be struck by lightning, which destroyed the tent and the Iron Golem nearby. Yet this divine lightning strike was said not to be enough to make the man quit his foul work. Another man, risking life, limb, and possibly his soul, was said to have stood between the unknown defiler and the grave of Carundin. Dark magics were placed on the man to flee, it is believed, but in wisdom he fled to East Cordor, to tell of the event occuring. Unfortunately, the magics cast on him made his rantings of the Hero's grave being defiled sound as if coming from a madman, and no one came.

The defiler then was said to have gathered several bones, including the skull of Carundin, before a Red Dragon landed and commanded the defiler to ride, plainly laying out proof that Wyrmhold is up to no good.

It is said the grave still lies open, awaiting another to pick as vultures would from the Hero's grave.
