Local talk on the taverns of Cordor, and amongst the more avid gossipers; turns to word of morale in Cordor's Regulars. Officers and Enlisted, alike, are said to be quite upset with certain undue hazards in their line of work, lack of reinforcement in key areas, and the declining recruitment numbers. There are even rumors of an entire detachment of scouts deserting in the field.

A few words among the more informed branch of Cordor's citizens, speak of Government Plans already in the works to alleviate this problem. Talk of a new Cabinet Session emerges, planned to occur within the month. It's supposed by many that this session going to allocate more funds to the regulars, and increase the average guardsman's salary to alleviate this problem.

The Duke's Cabinet is now in session. For the time being, visitors are being declined unless the session is in recess. The Duke is said to be present for the majority of the sessions, though, due to fatigue, retires early in the afternoon. Several members of the Cordor Guard leadership have been consulted, and are seen going to and fro with budget documents. Several summons have been issued, though offering mundane testimony to the Cabinet typical of most budget sessions. This lengthy session is not atypical, save for its duration and the important matters discussed. Again, most speculators predict that Military Spending will increase to address the morale concerns, and families of guardsmen hopefully await the outcome.
