Crowd Champion Djerrom' Stonegut's stare dit not balk his advance, nor did he falter at the sight of K'lom Wild Eyes's gyrespike. Relentlessly, he climbed the few steps up the ladder leaning against the Cordor Arena bulletin board, with a knife in his hand. Around him, Cordor Central was slowly waking up, a few yawning citizens staggered to find their way through the smog, cursing the rain. Standing on the second step of a ladder, Thomas The Laborer yawned too, spat some tobacco, then launched his devastating knife-attack at the washed-up gladiators of old. And they could do nothing but stare back at him from the faded posters...

Slash. Snip. Cut.

Staples and nails spraying into the air, it was a massacre. And soon enough, the last poster-boy had fallen quietly, like a leaf falls from the crown canopy in autumn, face-down into the gutter-puddle beneath the ladder.

Bustling to his stand, Mike the Paperboy caught sight of this mundane happening, and asked curiously:

"Oh, is there a new season of Pit Fighters in?"

"Soon enough, the posters are not quite ready, nor are the fighters, or so I hear, but I am just making room for when I get 'em - which should be soon enough," was the husky reply from the ladder.

Mike nodded eagerly and gave a thumbs up, before he ran on eastwards, lugging a bundle of freshly printed newspapers under his arm, eager to catch the morning rush of news-hungry adventurers.

Meanwhile, a lone Asabi Male braved a desert storm, making his way across the hinterlands of Khem. Despite the weather, his stride was not slowed down. He was entirely made for this terrain; the nictitating membrane shut across his yellow, egg-shaped eyes ensured visbility through the whirling sand, his scaly, sun-scorched carapace was jointlessly sand-proof, and his feet found good footing in the shifting sand. Now and then, he stopped, and nailed new posters on top of old ones at odd, seemingly insignificant places, often only recognizable from the rest of the surrounding sandscape by a single detail, such as a dead tree, a cluster of cacti or a strangely shaped stone.

The Asabi Male hangs quite a few super thin stone tablets along with the standard posters.

A watercoloured poster is pasted outside the walls of the Cordor Arena.

Slayer of The Shark, by the light of her silver blade.
Angel with the golden mane, sweeter than honey on rye.
She who knows no fear, Celestine Cherrywine.

Around Cordor's busier sections, posters can be seen hanging that read.

A lone gentleman in colorful tights and a mask shaped like a bird's head quietly places a few of these posters in and around the Cordor Arena.

The "Bureaubrats", the teenage sons and daughters of the new Cordorian elite, bureaucrats and statesmen of The New Republic of Cordor, seem to have taken a liking to Astred. Posing imposingly on his poster, he looks down from bedroom walls all across Cordor Central & West.

Half-Orcish and dwarven dockworkers have been heard saying "Just bring out your inner Pugnabu!" in response to human co-workers complaining prior to a particularly heavy haul. Cordorian linguists, who rarely frequent the Cordor Arena and who have a hard time engaging the rowdy dockworkers directly, have a hard time tracing the origin of the new expression.

In the Cordorian Underworld, apparently, several hin prostitutes have begun advertizing themselves by claiming a striking resemblance to "Celestine Cherrywine".

*The Posters of Astred and perhaps some of the other Cordor Gladiators start to have another notice tacked to the bottom of them before new posters can be made.*

"Attention! Now Backed by the Merchant Alynne Iniart. Come and try her new line of Social clothing to back your favourate Gladiator's Today.

If thats not your thing, and you want to be just like your heroes, try her line of imitation weapons today, so you may reenact the greatest victories of your favourate gladiators and mock your friends in their bitterest defeats.

Alynne Iniart Supports your Gladiators, will you?"

*In certain parts of Cordor Central, where rich ex-adventurers rent secondstory flats overhanging the channel, kids can be heard argueing as they play on the bridges (against their parent's advice), about who's turn it is to be "Glendir The Gladiator".*

Down by the Cordor Arena, Celestine can be seen parading around with a belt around her waist for the past three months.
Closer inspection of the belt will identify it to be the championship belt of the Shadowflame Dragon's Talon division.

A crude poster hangs in the cities, the paper stained with sand blood and sweat, the contents read.

Image

Undefeated unchallenged, a pit fighter like no other Malaki Duggan the eldest of the Duggan brothers. Loved and hated by the crowds few of his opponents have left the ring alive. Too each fight he brings with him the heads of those he has beat, Will he win his next fight? Will his oppononent leave alive that is for you to decide,

Malaki Duggan The ROCK, Crusher of the weak collector of Heads, is coming back to the pits to face his toughest opponents yet, a site not to be missed.

*Illustrated posters are nailed to walls in and around The Cordor Arena.*

The League of Travelers and the Cordor Arena are proud to present:
CHARTER LEYLINE TRAVEL TO THE GRAND SPECTACLE OF DEATH IN CIMBAR, CHESSENTA

Then suddenly, an explosion of cheers and confetti as warriors enter their stage, their church - their Arena! Before soon, the crowd is silenced by the the glitter of clashing weapons, as if hypnotized. Waiting. Then, in a horrible moment, the silence of the suspense is broken by a cacophony of gasps as hard steel finds soft flesh, and warm blood is spilled on warm sand. After this first sight of viscera, many more follow out through days filled with winners and loser, living and dead, monsters and beasts, heroes and villains! Come! Come to Cimbar and experience true suspense, true drama! Cimbar, where entertainment is a matter of life and death!

Practical information: A round trip leyline portal will be opened and maintained at the Storyweaver's Triumvir; and for the humble price of 1,00,000 Cordorian Crowns, you shall be whisked away to distant lands for the most exotic experience of your life time.

No refunds!

Celestine returns to the Cordor Arena at the break of dawn. Her wounds have closed but the dents in her armour and tatters in her cloak are testament of the battles she had fought, survived, and won.

Still covered in blood and sand, she collapses in her bed, exhausted. As sleep overcomes her, she remembers the image of the Chessenta Arena, and the roars of the cheering crowd.
