All across Faerun, as the early months of the year crawl away, and winter begins to give way towards spring, warmer weather creeps across the continent, bringing warmer winds, and warmer tidings.
However, in some portions of Faerun, winter seems to be there to stay. In a far flung region of the Frozen North, in Endir's Point, and the region around it, winter doesn't seem to be abating. It never really goes away, not that far north, but this winter has been a particularly long and unforgiving one. Local fishermen talk about ice floes in the water that haven't begun to move or melt or float away like they tend to in the warmer months, and animal tenders talk of their animals not even starting to shed their winter coats in preparation for a slightly warmer season, indicating a lot of cold to come.
Cold is always a constant in the Frozen North, but this time, it seems to be a little *more* constant. At the moment, it has not caused any alarm among commonfolk, but among the wiser, more keen eyed, and clever-minded, some worried eyesturn towards the sky... And a few more tithes than normal are prepared.

The weather shows no sigs of letting up, and in some cases grows worse. Fishermen talk about massive ice floes in the seas to the north that inhibit access to usual fish trawling areas, making prolonged trips to usual spots difficult. Endir's Poinnt also suffers from a lack of trained hunters this year, due to a notoriously high number of accidents that claimed lives in the small town. Outsiders from Cordor recently arrived in the town to help out with things, but without outside help, Endir's Point seems in dire need of outside assistance for the bare necessities. Traders from the Point begin to trade their wares for imperishable foods and furs instead of simple wealth.

The Sembian merchants would have been treated politely and respectfully. There is no specific list of supplies or any specific quantities they needed save that food was (and still is, today) direly needed due to the weather situation. Urgency goes without saying: It's incredibly important.
These things still hold true, even as the weather finally seems to give way, and a cold, very late spring finally begins to make its way across the Frozenfar region, finally lifting the area free of Winter's grasp.
