I keep thinking something happened in kohl but it's just a forum I can't read lit up.
I know you can make forums invis to people that don't have access, I think this should be done here and to other private forums.

the main board turns yellow indicating there's a new post in kohl
but then you can't see it unless you have access.
if you don't have access to the keep, just hide it so it doesn't look like there's a new kohl post until you click on it.

But I use the "View unread posts" button to show me everything I haven't seen anyways, excluding private forum posts, and "mark forums read" when I don't feel like going through every other thread to unyellow it.

I dont think you can stop it from highlighting in yellow. Only that you don't see the thread or post pop up in the View X Posts/Topics sections, or read it if you try to click on the subforum.

I think we made the decision long ago to keep the forum visible. It was up to the factions if they wanted their forums to be visible or not. IDK if we still want it visible, though.

i can't see wiltun for example.
i'd say just blanket hide all faction not public forums.
edit; i see no reason anyone benefits from an unreadable forum having visible activity.

Well the idea was (at least back at the last time I saw this discussed) that visible forum activity promotes the faction for people who are looking for, well, activity. Of course, it's also hell for double agents, which is why they put it down to choice.
I'm not saying I disagree or anything, just that yeah there's your reason, benefit and so on. Threatening our forum OCPD is a small price to pay for free advertising!
