So in my recent return, I've decided to put some time in to a new Sling user. In my efforts to locate new upgrades for my stone stash, I slowly came to the realisation that sling ammunition is rather lacking in both availability and effectiveness, on a scale far far below the bolt and arrow offerings.

Since there seems to be a lot of development working occurring recently, I was wondering it might be possible to have some attention guided toward sling bullets?

There was a previous topic made last February that tried to raise the issue but it didn't go very far before dieing off, which you can review here:

A couple of suggestions that could be added to some new bullets that would go a long way to improving the quality of life for a sling user:

- More on-hit effects similar to the current arrow offerings.
- Arcane Archers Imbue Arrow ability to be extended to Bullets.
- Basic bullets with Unlimited Ammo.
- Bullets to exceed +3 damage.

- Some new bullets are planned to be added already, plot pending, just got delayed due to holiday and sickness related issues
- Won't work without hak-changes afaik. Also would require that feat somehow be made available to others too.
- Sure, if there aren't any already anyway.
- See first point.

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like good news that additional bullets are being added as a result of plot changes, however, will those plot changes occur in areas that are accessible to most players, or locked away in a faction vendor for example?

I figured the Imbue Arrow changes would need more work and consideration, although I'm not sure that other classes would need to have access to the feat, especially considering that the Fletcher job is also responsible for crafting Bullets (that require no fletching to maintain accurate flight). With the abundance of Arcane Archers, getting access to the Imbue Arrow service wouldn't be too much of an issue.


The following primary vendors (known to sell Bullets) do not supply a form of "unlimited" bullets, so its possible that there is a vendor out there that has them that I'm not aware of:

Abyss town merchant
Cordor Fletcher
Bendir Dale Armoury
Kohl Weapon Merchant
Winya Ammo Merchant
Amia Forest Druid ammo merchant
Edit: L'Obsul Old Svirf has the largest variety and stock of Bullets I've found so far, ranging from 1d6 element damage types multiple damage types and an additional on-hit bullet. This is by far the best offering of bullets I've found so far, but is still below the offering of arrows or bolts. There is also a Unlimited Ammo: Fire 1d6 sling sold there, which is definitely helpful, but less so when you have a Seeking Sling.

I'll continue my search...


Slightly related:

I've got Master rank in the Fletcher job, and have sunk over (Edit: 80) metal ingots (various types) in to trying to produce at least 1 bullet with no luck, is this intended and I just have crappy luck or is there something off about this?

I've tried testing making bullets via the Fletcher job system... And it seems that it successfully take materials and awards experience as normal; but no item is given to the inventory on a successful roll.

Yep, you're 100% correct. Fletcher job is currently broken regarding bullets. I've made a bug post in the bug thread, here: viewtopic.php?f=154&t=88278.

The Djinn also has 2 rather nice bullets! (shameless advertise)

Bullets of the Elemental Fury
(//1d3 Cold, 1d3 Fire, 1d3 Acid, 1d3 Electricity, 1 Sonic Damage

Bullets of Pixie dust
(//1d8 magical, on hit blindness, on hit confusion)

Anyways... advertise aside, yeah we are planning on adding more bullets to regular shops/loot.
