Before I start throwing out numbers and ideas to fix Shifters, would the Dev. Team consider adding a custom feat, accessed similar to "Player Tools 1" that emulates a Heal Kit to return Heal Kit functionality to Shifters and Druids when Shifted? This would also mean that DR in general on Shifters could be nerfed and the damage they received would be similar to that of any other player. This way, Shifters can actually make decent use of any form that does not have good Damage reduction and critical immunity. Something that is more or less necessary due to the Shifters inability to heal properly and its reliance on Regeneration.
Script basics - Check to see if you have the required item (either Heal Kit +10 or a similar custom heal kit/magical adapting salve easily available* on both A and B for the same price as a +10 Heal kit) Touch range - Heal 1d20 + 10 + Player Heal Skill Remove one of above item
If you don't have the item, the script returns an error telling you you don't.
This wouldn't let you remove poisons/diseases or stop you from healing a full health target, but its a lot better then nothing.
*Somewhere like Kampos and Khem + Underdark. Places anyone can constantly go to. Plus under dwellers.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure how that would be for balancing- the tanky forms -might- be pretty powerful, but I can't imagine anything could top off the insanity of an AC PM. They can't die and have a few good necromancy spells. But yeah, in general, I'd like the idea of some kind of heal, since that is something the less tanky forms could use. Otherwise, maybe make it so that constructs are immune to it, or some other way of finding a balance. I mean, I don't really want to see Commie's standard build using heals on top of the insane abilities.
But as a different idea, and it might be possible to simply do already, is that you can get weapon proficiencies and weapon focuses of non-druid weapons. I know it would likely go towards the "specialised for one form", but I thought it would be nice to be able to do that. At least if people don't minbd the increased specialization, and things like a scythe WM risen lord shifter would still fit into the balance. (Or, as a workaround, let people swap a useless feat, like the custom abilities, for a proficiencies) We already said that they are not druids if they aren't druids and only take 5 levels. This would mean they are not bound to the druid code, and therefore can use any weapon they like, as long as they train for it.

Except spamming them, which low-durability forms need. The lack of hak support is sad though. Perhaps if healing pots were more abundant, like cure critical wounds, that would solve some of the problems. Except for undead.

Sorry, I meant cure potions, that do not have a cooldown. Maybe that would help a bit. I know they don't heal much, but I don't know shops that sell them. (Maybe I'm an idiot here) Heal potions are around, but they have that long cooldown that they only can be used every few rounds, which you don't want to be limited to if you are not tanky.

If you can't touch the Custom feats then what about a Spell widget with a custom spell, touch range, instant to prevent interruption? Provided Shifters can actually use these Shifted.

Provided Shifters can actually use these Shifted. We can use the spell widget as long as its not infinite uses for the record its how my form has a summon. Infinite uses a day its a item, limited uses makes it show up under the Special abilities tab to be used in form, Tormak and I did testing on some things and I posted it under the thread it was announced in.
