~ Sorcere of L'Obsul ~

The Sorcere is an academy for mages, the practitioners of the Arcane. It is here where aspiring arcanists are tutored to become full-fledged mages and where they continue their studies and research once they have completed their training. The Sorcere is at the forefront of research and discovery to push the boundaries of knowledge and utilising that into a tangible benefit of developing their own personal power and in consolidating the security and prestige of L'Obsul.

Thus members of the Sorcere are expected to contribute their intellect, expertise and strength into protecting the city of L'Obsul from potential outside threats.

.M'elzar

    Tebryn Illistyn [Wizard]
      ~ Apprentice [None]

    Zilvxyra [Bard]

.Zhaunin

    Alastyrr [Wizard]

    T'riss'szin [Wizard]

    Walschud [Secretary]

~Responsibilities~

----------------------------------
:!: Zhaunin responsibilities:
----------------------------------
    - Zhaunin are required to refer to their higher-ranked Sorcere members by title.
    - Zhaunin must obey orders by any members who is above them in rank.
    - The apprentice should work with his mentor to learn more about the arts of spellcraft and its supporting skills to better serve the house.
    - A apprentice is sometimes called to aid his mentor in magical rituals.
    - The Zhaunin, upon reaching the M'elzar rank, is no longer officially in the apprenticeship of the M'elzar. However, the two will often continue this relationship to the gain of both parties.
    - Students seen self proclaiming themselves to have higher ranks without having succeeded the test, will be bestowed serious punishment

The Zhaunin is a mage in training, the lowest rank in the Sorcere vocation. A Zhaunin must find a M'elzar as their master who is willing to teach the young mage, so that the two can work together as a team. They are eager students, whose chief tasks are to perform rituals, do experiments, and otherwise continue his learning. They are capable of casting powerful magical spells, and with this power comes great respect.

:!: ~To obtain the rank of M'elzar, the Zhaunin most display his understanding in the fundamental mechanism of standard manipulation of the weave, and perform flawless performance in casting a spell in each of the different spell schools, accompanied by a well founded theory and benefits of used spell schools. Before mentioned theory should be obtained through cooperation with the master, and the evaluation of the graduation can be supervised by the mentor, or any Faern. They must also be able to articulate and develop an initial framework for their own personal project

---------------------------------
:!: M'elzar responsibilities:
---------------------------------
    - M'elzar are required to refer to their superiors by title.
    - M'elzar must obey the orders of members with ranks above them.
    - The M'elzar continues to work with their mentor to complete magical rituals and experiments to benefit the Sorcere
    - The M'elzar should take an active approach when working with the younger Zhaunin.
    - The M'elzar, too become a Faern, must take a apprenticeship with a younger Zhaunin. The two must be active in their work to be acceptable for the promotion.
    - M'elzar seen self proclaiming themselves to have higher ranks without having succeeded the test, will be bestowed serious punishment

M'elzar are Zhaunin which have completed most of their training with their master. A M'elzar will soon have to prepare a apprentice of their own to perform experiments and rituals with. A M'elzar should be able to cast a great deal of powerful magical spells, and able to hold their own in combat. M'elzar should regularly work with their Faern or by themselves to perform experiments and do research.

:!: ~To obtain the rank of Faern, the M'elzar are bestowed a test, containing both theoretical and practical aspects. The nature of the test are decided between the master and Ul'faeruk.

--------------------------------
:!: Faern responsibilities:
--------------------------------
    - Faern are expected to take apprentices, which they aid in their training of the magical arts
    - Faern are regularly expected to do experiments and research to benefit the Sorcere
    - Faern will be demoted to M'elzar if they take a long leave of absence without giving notice, reinstatement is contingent on further contributions to the Sorcere

Secretive and devious, the Faern are the Masters of the Sorcere whose long hours of research has paid dividends as demonstrated by their ability to cast the most powerful of magical spells. They administer the Sorcere along with the Ul'Faeruk, thus faerns should work to weave plots and goals for the Sorcere as a whole and collaborate with other faerns to protect the stability of L'Obsul.

~Rules~
    1) All tests for promotion are to be supervised by the Ul'faeruk or a Faern.
    2) All ranking members can have only one formal apprentice at a time, unless given special permission by the Ul'faeruk.
    3) Testing a M'elzar for the position of Faern is done only by the Ul'faeruk. Under special circumstances, a Faern may test a M'elzar but only with the permission of the Ul'faeruk.
    4) A Faern may induct those seeking to become students of the Sorcere as well as supervise a Zhaunin's test for promotion to the rank of M'elzar.

~Eligibility for Membership~
    1) Primary focus must be on the attainment of mystic knowledge; most commonly this applies to those whose talent is inborn (sorcerer) or learned (wizard). Divine casters, bards and other seekers of mystic knowledge are also permitted to join.
    2) Membership is restricted to the races native to the Underdark such as drow, duergar, half-drow, kobolds and any of orcish or goblinoid blood. Exceptions can be made for other races contingent on approval from the Ul'faeruk
    3) For recruits of existing high capability, they must consult with the Ul'faeruk as to what rank they are entitled to in the Sorcere

As the city is under new management, all members of the Sorcere are required to re-enroll to demonstrate their continued commitment to the Sorcere.

Failure to communicate this will be interpreted as a withdrawal from the Sorcere.

Following the wishes of the Valsharess; membership into the Sorcere is now open to dragonkin; this also means dragon disciples and kobolds.

Further changes can be expected to be made during this time of transition.

One cycle Naltyrr is flicking through the Sorcere files, and blinks upon making a discovering. "I completely forgot about this!" he exclaims, drawing his magical Quill of Forever Inked with a flourish. Selecting two of the older Sorcere papers, both labelled "Psionic Research" but yet consisting entirely of crude pictures of illithids being stabbed by a hundred daggers, he writes a new message on the back and posts them both up on the Sorcere's and Thraan'dariv's general notice boards.

After further consideration, the Sorcere is hereby now accpeting applications of the following races: Duergar, half-drow, tieflings, any of orcish or goblinoid blood and potentially any whose race has an impressive history of debauchery and mayhem.

The Sorcere will be relocating its main center of operations to L'Obsul and lend its strength to ensuring the security of the settlement.

Further changes are to be anticipated with this move as the Sorcere will seek the backing of the L'Obsul Council.

Vilith walks in the street in front of Sorcere. The announcement catch his red eyes. He then proceed to read the parchment claiming the new venues of Sorcere. He mutters under his breath "Lloth what have you become...". Deep in his thoughts ,he replace his dark and gold robes with his right hand and start walking toward what is left of Nec.
