Of late, the newly-appointed Lieutenant Vosst has made his presence visible in Tarkuul; he would be known to some regular visitors, but perhaps unseen by most until now. Always he is clad in the purple-collared cloak denoting his rank in the Living Guard, and always is his face hidden by an iron mask. But he greets and offers assistance to the few entrants of the City as he sees them, and spends many hours watching and patrolling the Living City.

Other times, he vanishes without a trace... only to appear again in Tarkuul and continue with his duties.

//Just a thread for general goings-on in Tarkuul!

Sicarius is one of those regular sights within the Living City, the half-elf is usually in uniform patrolling around the city or standing watch. He does not speak much and when he does it is in a curt manner, despite his cold demeanor he is forthcoming enough should an inquisitive visitor approach him about questions regarding the city.

Of late this shadowy half-elf seems particularly active, moving about the city and often taking trips outside it!

A woman with silver-threaded hair, underlined with a plain lavender hue, would be seen staying close to the libraries with many books within reach. If anyone to gain closeness to her, they might notice she wears a studded black ring on one finger. She does not seem to hesitate to hide the whip that twirls around her waist, nor does she hide her significant allure to the dungeons which she takes great liberty to visiting. While visiting them a book always seems to be in tow and she studies some of the mechanisms they have in their discretion with not curiousness, but approval.

A new face can be seen frequenting Tarkuul's libraries, her obsidian skin betrays her dhearrow descent along with the cynical scowl that seems ever-present on her lips as she slips between the shelves searching for lore on mythals. She would ignore anyone not of an official capacity and bury herself in whatever tomes she can find. She asks no questions - she clearly wishes to discover the answers herself.

On occasion, the energetic bubble of energy know as Tilly could be seen moving around the place with a bounce in her step. She would be overly inquisitive of anyone she came across, but would soon go on her way if they ushered her off.

Mostly, she would offer her own brand of 'fashion advice' suggesting bright and eccentric styles before getting back to duties that seem somewhat akin to guard duty.

From time to time a heavyset woman is seen in Tarkuul directing any that should ask her to the location of this or that. She is never seen without her helm on, wearing a black, gold and silver sleevless robe, her arms covered in protruding metal armor plates. If she is not approached she simply walks around the city. It's hard to tell if she's observing under that horned helm she wears or not but by the looks of her gray cloak showing the rank of enforcer she more then likely is. When she's not marching around the city she just stands in different places of guard duty eerily still almost as if it's just a live suit of armor inhabited by noone.

The briefly energetic Tililalli would seem to be far more subdued of late. Walking around clad in her armour she treats most to a simply stare who come near, assisting when need be.

No longer would she be seen offering her version of advice, thankfully, and would leave those around in peace instead.

Luca is a near constant presence in the castle standing near the leyline and greeting people that come through. He makes himself available for questions with a surprisingly friendly demeanor. Occasionally he'll indulge in a glass of wine and a book in the lounge.

Recently some might notice that Sicarius has been roaming more often around Tarkuul, inspecting various rooms and spending an unusual amount of time at studying the shadows within them.

Afterwards he would retire to the Captain's Office for a few hours before coming out with a number of papers, proceeding to post them up around the Living City.

One can often see a purple robed small gnome wondering about the libraries and more frequently, in the Temple of late. She is often mumbling to herself and speaking in hushed whispers to what might be an invisible friend.

Valkun Everdark can often be seen entering and exiting the dungeons with various "subjects". An occasional scream of anguish can be heard from the dark depths. If not in the dungeons, he is within the library, pouring over tomes upon the Undead. He is clad in dark clothing, with an eyepatch, and long white hair.

A pair of large crates can be seen recently being offloaded from the ferryman's boat. Water leaks out from between the boards, but what's inside is known only to a certain gnome and his female companion.

Should Lieutenant Vosst pass by the crates, he'll make a note of drawing it to the Captain's attention and inquiring as to their purpose, though he would leave the crates themselves unmolested; it seems the policy of the Living Guard is not to directly interfere with the business of its denizens unless given cause to be concerned.

The crates are taken into the workshop, by the female gnome, who turned into a golem to carry them inside. Water leaking out of the bottom of them. Their contents, remain a mystery to the few who would see them outside of the workshop. The workshop is then heavily warded and magically sealed when not in use and several extremely powerful undead are left outside to guard the one door into and out of the workshop. Furthermore, the few gnomes seen coming in and out of the workshop, turn into umberhulks and/or cast true seeing on regular basis, to ensure no spies can see what's going on.

Whatevers going on behind that locked door, is carefully kept from prying eyes...

Lieutenant Vosst might have been observed in the company of an armoured female who cuts an even slighter figure than even he. They conducted a patrol, then the pair disappeared into the Captain's office for what can be assumed was a lengthy discussion.

In general, Vosst has spent less time in Tarkuul than usual, and when he is found, he seems... tense? Though such judgements are difficult to make on a man wearing a mask.

A large shadow displays itself on the ground, the draconic shape massive as if flies overhead around Tarkuul, before finally landing for a short time to speak to a rather small female gnome, clearly an ally of hers. It stays only a short time, enough to accept some rather expensive looking chests of trinkets and gold, before taking flight, the treasure in its claws.

The gnome watches the massive majestic beast ascend into the heavens, before heading back to her workshop...where she spends the rest of the day behind those big locked, heavily guarded and heavily warded iron doors.

Lately with the appearance of some dead birds, Sicarius can be seen out and about the City with a trident in hand. The half-elf captain spends his time using the trident to toss the dead birds into the sea.

A certain female gnome rubs her hands with glee, a large keg arrives onto the docks, where she rolls it into the workshop, being careful to ensure no one else sneaks into the workshop before waving the rune stone ward behind her. Once inside, she carefully checks the quality of the massive quantity of embalming fluid and nods to her satisfaction before continuing on with her work.

Life, indeed! Lieutenant Vosst moves about Tarkuul with what appears to be fresh vigor as he conducts his duties... or perhaps appearances deceive? His nature is as inscrutable as ever, though he still displays that faint tension that appeared in his countenance shortly ago. Lately he may be observed quite frequently speaking with the various denizens, and he often moves to the Captain of the Living Guard's office in the company of one shadowy figure or another.

He seems to avoid dealing with the dead birds, also.

On one of his rare visitations to the Living City, the hooded young man in blue keeps to himself as usual, making his way directly from the portal node to the library.

He would stay a time, looking through any books on Illusory spells that he could find, particularly those of the Shadow variety.

A red garbed woman can be seen here and around. Her clothes are loose, light and comfortable. Accompanying her are most of the time a Hellhound, and frequently a shadow. She seems to hang around at the library, in the mage tower and in the undercroft at the corrupted mythal.

The signature black and yellow garbed Valkun has been seen near the leyline, coming to and fro with various swarthy pirates and bandits, heading down to the dungeons. Screams can sometimes be heard from the Undercroft...

Sicarius continues to be a common sight throughout the city, doing what he usually does which is patrolling and other guardly stuff. Some times he secretes himself away out of sight, often conversing with other people. Or other times, taking long excursions outside the City.

All in all, he remains a presence within the City.

Lieutenant Vosst's presence is an equally common sight. However, earlier in the day, after sending off a few missives, he is seen departing the city in the company of a few dark, hooded figures (his typical company really).

He does not return to his post at his usual hours, following that. He seems to have vanished.

An elven woman, with raven-black hair, light skin and a frail silhouette is seen here and around. Elvora wears a long, black gown, aroud her neck hangs a circular, black witch mirror. Her presence is mostly in the Library, though she oftens walks here and around the city, directs herself sometimes towards the crypts.

The presence of a certain wizard also seems to have become a very common sight of late. His black armour bears multiple skull motifs, he carries an adamantine staff bearing an incredibly life-like skull on top and two crimson flames jut out from under the visor of his helm. He can usually be seen in the library, the Magisterium classroom and the Temple of Velsharoon, or walking between two of the three at a slow pace, leaning on the staff with each step.

With very few exceptions, he offers nothing more than a slight nod to whomever he might meet, any conversation initiated with him being concluded in as short a time as possible and leaving the distinct impression that he did not appreciate being kept from whatever it was he was so busy with.

Two gnomes in Purple Robes, jump off the docks...finishing up dealing with the ferryman. A giant ancient red dragon circles overhead before landing. The female gnome asks the dragon for assistance and the dragon, picks up a cart along with the four large crates on it and flies it onto the dock, the two muskoxen, look absolutely terrified, remaining on the ship and darting for cover.

The red dragon then flies back off, into the skies, wishing the gnomes farewell with a large roar, before the gnomes turn into golems and start carrying the crates, dripping a bit of water out the bottom of each, into the Temple nearby and doing the usual high security checks before opening the heavily magically warded door each time as well as the male gnome turning into an umberhulk for a time, to check for spies.

Satisfied no one saw them, they quickly close the door behind them...

There's been no sign of Rose as of late in Tarkuul. Last time anyone, perhaps, seen her was when a large keg arrived on the docks. Her arms were folded as she watched quietly as it was rolled away, finished her patrol and ported out.

The sight of the new initiate of the Living Guard, Naygyrn, has become rather common lately. The tiefling can be seen accompanying other members of the Guard in their duties or conversing with an inhabitant or two. Although somewhat reserved, he'd offer a polite greeting to those approaching him, along with an answer to their possible questions!

Vosst's return, some days ago, passes without any particular significance; he simply returns to his rather busy schedule of meetings, coordinating guards, filing reports and vanishing without a trace every now and then. The edgy and vaguely unusual behaviour appears to have stopped, however.

Over the next few days Luca, Phrixus and Emilie would be seen coming and going from the Dining Hall for a few hours every night. The three of them seem to work fairly well together, a steady stream of furniture leaving the room, and a steady stream of crates and boxes full of supplies and tools entering it. The three take breaks often, drinking ample quantities of wine and slinging plentiful jests and banters at each others expense. They don't exactly seem well-suited to physical labor, but seemed determined to make the best of the situation, grumbling and complaining the whole way, or puzzling comically over sketches and diagrams of how to put together the workbenches and market stalls. It's not the most efficient progress, but they take their time, and with luck, the Trade Hall would start to form.

A few old "faces" return to the living city as of late, some who have resided there for a long time may remember one or two. more notably is a human looking man clad in solid black with guilded suilver in his armor, and a seeming trail of faint fog everywhere he goes.

A man dressed in commoner's clothes, often with a thin leather apron on top, studies beginner's books on Grafting in the library and also anatomy on available parts. He also spends time mixing and testing arcane potions.

Despite his intellectual undertakings, he works out late at night, further enhancing his gross bodybuilder's physique. Heavy use of alchemical elixirs seems to play an important part in this as well. He looks like his body could fail anytime under this stress, though.

If asked, he introduces himself as Holo Jarian, and is eager to sell some of the arcane potions he makes. A little too eager, usually.

A ghastly looking necromancer continues to spend alot of time in the library of Tarkuul in the endless persuit of knowledge. Seeking particularly information about the prior history in the city that would have any mention of "necromaster." Though the frustration and assumption that she will find absolutely nothing towards this topic is quite evident.

Out of a portal from goddess knows where, glides a Drow. There is no black in her attire. There is no hood or helm upon her lustrous silvery-white hair that has gem studded braids. Her bare thighs and arms are supple and glisten in their perfection. Her graceful neck is adorned with a golden chain holding an amulet with a finely crafted silver web upon which rests spider fangs fashioned from a blood stone. Her small stature is in no way an indication of the nobility and power that she radiates.

She doesn’t dally. She doesn’t plod and stomp her boots like a rothe. She glides regally towards the Library. Although she isn’t there for long and would be seen in various places during the visit. Inside and outside every building that isn’t locked.

The drowess might find herself in the company of what might for all outward appearances seem to be one of her kin; Irae'arra having taken to occupying the sitting room of the suites with little Kalian playing on the floor and little Amal'atar snug in her arms. While gracious and courteous, and seeming willing to answer any question, there remains something guarded in violet eyes, the beringed hand resting on her book while she speaks pulsing with the faint throb of the Arcane.

The woman known as Phrixus can be seen asking random figures in passing if they know of any scribes or potion makers. If one was to come up to her, she'd address them formally with a salute of two fingers from her forehead, quickly moving the conversation on the topic of what she is looking for. If that person did not have any information on such topic, she'd cut her conversation short and continue on. Though, if they did seem to know something, she seems to keep her interest perked, and bids them farewell with a fair share of coin passed for their time.

Late last night saw a perhaps unusual visitor to the city. A rather shrewd looking man with salt'n'pepper hair, a satchel across his shoulder and a quill tucked behind his ear was escorted to the gates from the Lowlands portal by two rough looking, seagoing mercenary bodyguards.

The man was met at the gate by a figure more familiar about the city, recognizable as Luca to those who have met him, and the two men (minus the bodyguards) proceeded to tour around much of Tarkuul. Much of the tour seemed to center around the castle and the docks, if one were to watch carefully.

A half an hour later and the man was escorted back to the gate, where he left with his two bodyguards back through the portal.

For some as of yet unknown reason, a small contingent of lesser undead seem to be busily (if rather slowly and stiffly) cutting up a few boards and tacking them together with nails on a patch of ground between the Tower of the Damned and the Vaunted's temple.

Bit by bit, the rough outline of surprisingly sturdy looking bridge begins to take shape, though where it is the undead think they might be going remains a mystery for the time being.

Meanwhile a few more zombie and skeletal workers can be seen making what appears to be make-shift scaffolding in the open area beside the entrance to the Crypts. They don't appear to be erecting the scaffolding against any building in particular, perhaps suggesting it will be moved elsewhere once finished.

Who is to say?

Sicarius continues to be a consistent presence within the City, when not at the Castle hall he can be often found at the Court of the Living taking stock of this new addition to Tarkuul. The Captain's manner remains quiet and reserved as it is usually, though talkative enough should someone approach him.

*to those that may notice a black suited figure of a thin build and palid complexion has been seen frequenting Tarkuul's library. At times there are two other figures, one male one female, accompanying him as he also looks through the city for an appropriately sized and suitable home*

//word seems to be out all ready, but Aeyrkoon is coming to a town near you! ;p

*a tiefling woman with an unusual skin hue that is often tainted by the lit tourches and the errie red glow of the portal is sometimes seen standing alone, or whispering with a small figure in dark robes. She has made her way into the library on occasion, and made use of the mythal forge within the Undercroft at times. She has recently been seen making haste to the crypts with a black wraith following behind her.*
