A message is left up on the notice board of Tarkuul for all to read. It seems to be addressed to the traders of the city

Dear all,

I am currently looking for a smithy and a carpenter to work in unison to create a large barrel suitable for fermenting fungus. Currently i am looking for quotations from both if i show the finished product to imitate. Preferred people who may supply own materials and add to quotation cost. May be able to supply materials if extensive and detailed list is given. You may get into contact with me to arrange a meeting by leaving a note for Dill, initiate of the living guard.

After learning the cost of such is fairly low Calypso can be seen working during her daily routine on the barrel and actually building it with materials she's gathering along with any additional materials she needs from the city stores.

After speaking to Draco and learning where in the library was the book she needed she was directed to the section on "Trades and Skills". She had read over one certain section of a book on the skill of a barrelwright. Soon after she gathers the supplies and starts to work shaving the planks down as needed until she has all the planks she needs to complete a four feet diameter circle with planks measuring six feet in length these planks have a small groove in them on top and bottom to fit the "lids" snuggly into. Speaking of such, some planks as well were set aside to make the top and bottom "lid". She has taken time to go over what she's done and looking back over the notes she took from the book in the library, much like a cook would reflect over a recipe whilst preparing a meal.

Once the wood is fitted, cut and ready she goes to work on the iron bands and rivets she'll use to fasten the bands once they are pounded out to the desired length, width and thickness. Additionally she realizes she needs to construct a barrel 'frame' to set the pieces into so whilst still at the forge she constructs a barrel 'frame' guide as well.

Using the barrel frame guide and placing the planks(Staves) next to one another to fit the staves watertight, in short, lining them next to one another and using the bands the barrel starts taking shape. Heat is used to shape the wood and help it bend using additional rings that won't remain when it's finished.

Once she finishes she removes the additional iron bands and then she leaves it be for now and goes to ask Dill if he wants to burn the inside or not.

Once she has a chance to speak with Dill she finds out that Dill wants the barrel charred. Calypso then sets up a large campfire keeping to the basics and elevates the barrel enough that it wont snuff out the fire. She watches it closely until it's properly smoked and charred to a degree then removes it dowsing the fire. Not long after she goes to find Dill letting her know it's ready to be taken to where she wants it and placed for use. She decides to go ahead and make a tap for it so that it may be easily emptied once the contents are ready.

She's also starting on another barrel frame base and hammering out some more iron bands, seemingly preparing to make more, as the familiar materials start appearing once again either around the carpentry area or the forge itself depending on what step in the beginning process she's on.
