After giving much thought on the matter and accompanying everything that's been going on, Rizzen writes the following note and adds copies to those within the cities and shrines he can enter.
If he cannot enter a city, he will have a surfacer deliver it to the city's commander. If the surfacer is asked about what he got in exchange for delivering the note, he will say he was paid and is free after delivering the note.

For long I have sought a place among surfacers, following a faith that was never understood or spoken of in good terms. I intend to repair that issue if approached peacefully to talk about it.
As it happens with many faiths, many leaders interpret their god's or goddess' dogmas differently. In my faith I can say I am one of those priests who gives emphasis to a specific part of the dogma, while not forgetting the other tenets, but also dealing with them differently.
I merely seek a place, with my kin, among surfacers. Like any surfacer, I fight against the vile ways of the spiderkissers, also known as Lolthites.
If any place at the surface is being threatened to be destroyed, if there is a war against the surface, my brethren and I shall offer our assistance.
Thus, I join the forces of good, or any force that will be fighting against the Black Caravan.
