Subtle Rumors and Whispers of A Face Recognizable to Many, One not Seen in Almost 3 Years Spread…

A tall, rugged, and weathered figure has been spotted first in Bendir Dale and then around a few of the surrounding areas and common meeting places. Whispers, interested glances, towns folk turn their heads cautiously as they ponder the familiar, yet changed face; not quite able to place where they know this man from.

His once confident gaze is pale and hallow. The armor worn by this knight is not maintained, rustic, and ragged as the face of the man wearing it. The image of what appears to be Torm engraved on his armor has Torm's figure blackened like a shadow. A human figure has been etched next to Torm of a frail man kneeling at his feet with tears drawn on one side and red blood painted on the other. His shield is tied to his back with weathered leather straps.

His grey silver blue eyes are as distant as his thoughts. His eyes speak to those who would dare to look closer, close enough to recognize him; they inspire subtle pity and palpable sadness. They are the eyes of a man who appears to have been in isolation for many, many moons.

The once well-known Paladin of Torm, Rolde Wellslan, known for his merchant business throughout, and not always know for good reason; a knightly slayer of many evil fiends and undead in the past; the man who once saved the lives of many, but who had some known human faults of his own, steps from among the trees and rock cliffs of Bendir Dale and emerges from the shadow as the early morning dawn light catches on his rusted armor…

He is a shell of his former self…

A lanky tiefling would be sat in the Dale, watching Rolde emerge. It only takes the man a few steps out into the clearing before the tiefling laughs himself into the shadows and dissapears from Dale lands.

A faintly red-skinned hin, seen casually grinding and grating his armor by the Rock in the dale, spots the man Imerging, and snorts. Without a single care, or filtering himself pauses in his rock back-scratching looking to the man and says simply.

"You look like shite! Wha? you jus'crawled out from havin' a Shag with'a corpse'er something? Sheesh' People.."

And resumed scratching away without a care, or much else effort given to the decrepit knight.

// just as a reference, a player managed to get their char's fallen status removed after returning back to activity. Maybe you could try the same.

Keep in mind that the request should be well written, but I imagine the DMs will give some mercy considering you haven't played in awhile so it could be seen as Rolde's IC journey to attonement.
