We shall be celebrating the ascension of Mystra in a day's time. Food, drink, music, dance, travelling shopkeepers and activities will be present for this celebration. Worshippers and guests may give special prayers of thanks with each spell cast. The events of the day include the ceremonies 'Starflight' and 'Magefire'. An honoured guest of the realms shall be performing grand divinations for those who seek guidance or general curiosity. Lastly, a fun activity shall take place with prizes to be won! The event shall take place at The Shrine of Mystra in Kohlingen, Feylake.

To the esteemed miss Widgern,

News of the Magefair to be held in Amia come as a breath of a fresh air to various connoisseurs of Arcane. Unfortunately, some us will not be able to access the Festivities due to policies of Kohlingen. Would you be inclined to consider more inclusive options?

Cordially,
A.X.S., Magos of Belenoth

An anonymous not finds itself pinned to the board at Kampo's

They won't. Gods forbid they let everyone not in line with their thinking be involved.

Esteemed Miss Widgern,

I will be able to attend as I am not banished from Kohlingen, but I would humbly advise picking a different location than Kohlingen for future Magefairs. You see, Kohlingen is a very counter-intuitive location for Magical matters. The list of spells one can't use is longer than the list of spells one can, and one is not even able to study controversial magics even in the effort of forming defenses against them. It is a singular viewpoint forged by Paladin dogma, Paladins who I shall remind the Magefair officials are quite hostile to Arcane Magic as it is not defined by their Divine applications. Even non-sentient golems and Magical formations as Shadows are unable to be Summoned, as being ultimately mindless means they are not 'benevolent', making the city very stifling even from basic, fundamental viewpoints of magic.

Furthermore, Kohlingen's restrictive, dogmatic, and anti-Arcane policies prevent a high amount of Magical instutitions, both Amian and abroad, from attending. Simply put, leagues of mages will be unable to attend, making this fair for the sake of universal Magic very niche in contrast. Not to mention, some Kohlingen Officials, such as Vera Talen, have in the past, openly touted that they wish to keep the commoners and peasants of Kohlingen ignorant of higher matters, for excuses along the lines of "because they don't need to know" [what occurs throughout the isle]. For the sake of intellectualism, I find it quite objectionable that learned Magi should be cloistered in a city that has openly vowed to keep its people uneducated for the sake of easier control. Imagine the martial and magical ambitions that people in Kohlingen could acquire, if they were not held back by these policies, and making a stand against them may be more contributive to Arcana as a whole, than to silently condone them with a fair entire.

A sun elf passes by the notice in Kampos and leaves a note

"How could anyone expect a sufficient turn out of magicians in a city of limited intellect and restrictive policies? "

A man with a scaly arm, beautiful, magestic, red wings, and most delicate, yet hardy horns on his head would walk up to notice in Kampo's, laugh a bit at it and the responses left below and leave a short and simple letter, as always in his steady, sure hand:

Yeah. Screw Kohlingen.

*A note is tacked across Kohlingen, Kampo's, Bendir, East Cordor and Wharftown*

Valid points regarding the nature of the art that represents magic in itself have not gone unheard today, which could have very well secured a decision to accommodate everyone inclusively. However, after consideration of the much noticeable aggression displayed, and in light of recent events, threats and hostility towards the Holy City and her members, the notion of relocating the festivity elsewhere are deemed unfit. The event shall continue within the walls of Kohlingen that is fit for peace, safety and void of malicious conspiracy between attendees, her citizens, travellers and adventurers alike.

Esteemed Miss Widgern,

Please consider myself withdrawn from this Magefair, in that case. Whilst a different sort of defense of maintaining the fair within Kohlingen presents a few valid options, to pin it down to politics in support of Kohlingen is a crass politicization of magic, particularly as you call it "the Holy City", ignoring the burdens upon magic placed by such dogma. As a whole, this is very disappointing. As to your your agenda, I must deem this action and commitment counter-productive, as Kohlingen will continue to have threats thrown its way for as long as its restrictive policies on one hand, and grasping, monopolist nature of events such as these on the other, lends both rhetorical support and frustration enough to those disallowed from coming. Until either Kohlingen changes its ways or gives up its monopolistic status, threats will continue to mount until the status quo is shattered. For as long as Kohlingen is a megalomaniacal city that seeks to conquer the isle and banish and slay those who belong to certain races or walks in life, the aggression will be reciprocated until Kohlingen adopts a common-sense policy, or no longer has long-reaching control over what the people of this Isle can and cannot attend, this fair included.

Give the attendants my regards,

And P.S.
If the Kohlingenfair ever turns into a proper Magefair, do keep us noted, so that the many excluded Mages can contribute to the entire marketplace of ideas.

At Kampo's a hooded man leaves an answer
A pity that even if good arguments where showed about making the gathering somewhere else, the place of reunion will still be at that city, maybe the name should be changed to " Mystran festivity for kohlingen mage guards and allies"

This had potential, but not if there will be forbiden discussions.

Another note finds itself anonymously attached.

Then you spit in the face, or rather on the grave of the man who led the Mystrans to your city. One who would have knowledge for all and that all mages can work together for the advancement of magical understandings. Enjoy your hellhole city. No wonder your leadership fails day after day.

Do not forget that the celebration of the ascension of Mystra is known to all her worshippers and to those who acknowledge her, where some may choose a quiet and personal style of worship, that is if you're truly dedicated to her. We do not monopolise over a holiday across the realm, you are free to dedicate your worship to her if you cannot attend. These public celebrations planned are a privilege, which without there would be none, but does not hamper the spirit of the holiday in itself. As said, some excellent points were made here which makes a relocation highly considerable, however, dampened by the sudden hostility that has become apparent today. It is a 'common-sense policy' to protect attendees against those who continue to cause strife and conflict, a first and foremost priority.

A young female drow sees the original notice and smiles faintly. The smile fades as she reads over the responses tacked to it. With a heavy sigh, Sui'Aerl steps away and makes a mental note to remember the time.

A black cloaked man leaves an unsigned note in Kampo's, East Cordor, and Wharftown.

With regards to the magefair, you did not miss much. It was a fair enough celebration.
