I wasn't present for this battle, but I was present when Waldo ran off Asmodai and the black spiky one mentioned, and supported that decision. Asmodai had been baiting and arguing with us and loitering with another, earlier. I have also seen Waldo run off the black spiky one more than once, and the death threats and insults he has made as he leaves.

Card has been more than a nuisance of late, he has his beast companion and summons under poor control and attacks far too readily himself, to disadvantage when we were trying to see off Izzy, and also when Lyam was trying to have bloodless negotiations with Lilith. Snobbles has also made a report that this Card summoned an insect swarm right within Town that attacked folk. He is clearly unstable, as are the others mentioned.

Lord Mayor,

It is my belief, after witnessing the slaughter of your people first hand and the method of attack by both defender and attacker alike from a close, front row seat, that we should talk.

I once before offered my assistance should things become...such.

I once again offer said assistance and a free piece of advice.

The painting is not the only hole in your defenses. There are several others that a dragon could slide through sideways...as I found out first hand last night.

Also, I believe I may be able to shed additional light on this slaughter from a more, objective, point of view.

A middle-aged female hin is lead by Sally to this particular notice in the Town Hall. Though she seems unsure, she begins to write on it as other have with Sally present right next to her.

I was not there for the latter incident, but many of us was present when this "Terro" imploded Waldo. You can ask any of us for our testimony, if such thing is desired, that was present during the event. This includes myself, Serena, Souris, Breazy, Libba, Green, Willie, Dirk, Jayek, and the two instructors, as well as a kobold visitor by the name of Zeo.

The implosion almost killed many of us as it was fired inside the gate right by the baker, and we all armed ourselves to get rid of this cretin named "Terro" when he murdered Waldo without a reasonable justification. While I can understand one may cast spells and such to protect oneself, he was asked to leave many times by Waldo and only after he uttered many insults to us, Waldo struck him. He in no way had any justifiable reason to cast such a powerful spell, let alone murder Waldo right inside our home.

*a new halfling face spots the notice*

I was the one who saw them preparing for battle to the south of town on the hill as I was about to head out on a walk. I recognized him from the early incident when he was kicked from the dale and ran into town to alert the hinfolk and the militia and led them to where he waited and I don't remember much after except a buzzing sound and then being awoken later.

Here is a portion of a report I left in Oakmist Vale:
~~Crow

A few weeks ago, I was in the forest between the sign, and the hut. There approached a mountain lion of incredible power and agility. It attacked the animals near it, quite easily, and turned upon me when I got close to it, and attempted to reach out to it (Empathy). This feline was unlike any other I have encountered, I was barely able to connect with my sword. It would strike me, and be away, only to appear behind me again, lashing out with unusually sharp claws. I made use of at least two Mestil's Acid Sheath scrolls, wands of Stoneskins, and Haste as well. I put down three Heal potions to save my own life, and let Trinaur run off, for his own. I thank Mielikki for my life, the struggle for survival was intense.

Three days ago, I encountered another mountain lion, just west of the entrance to Bendir lands, where wolfs tend to gather. It was equal in power to the previous, and equally as vicious. I am concerned that they are moving in. They will be a great threat to travelers who cannot stay on the path.

This report is about the mountain lions, please be aware of them, and I suggest not to approach them, and warn others of the same, until they move off. If you are not prepared for battle, these cats will shred you alive.

A large group of actors, playwriters and stagehands came to Bendir Dale today, via the Triumvir portal. The seemed sad -- some more than others -- but united as a group. They slowly made their way toward Bendir Dale Square, remaining mostly silent until getting there. A Gnome dressed in an orange and yellow suit took the lead, calling the group to gather.

It soon became clear why they were there. They were there to protest the pending act to remove the portrait portal to and from Triumvir by Bendir Dale. They were determined, they were vocal, they were loud and they were even annoying to some, but they came with a message and they weren't leaving until it was drilled home.

They called out the Heralds for being bad people and giving the Triumvir a bad name. They also called out Mayor Lyle, sending their pleas that the portrait not be removed. They did so for many hours, until General Nof came out and finally got them to leave after telling them that their message was heard and that Mayor Lyle would be told of what they came for.

And so the protesters finally left. But not without promising to come back for an answer from Mayor Lyle and not without a few bruises and torn cloths from a sneaky vandal.

Protesters,

If you can provide proper security for the portal in question, and restrict travel of those who are banned from the Dale through it, then I will not close the portal. You see, I've got my citizens to worry about. You're nothing but a bunch of amoral sissies who have allowed your home to become a wretched hive for undead lovers, fiend summoners and murderers, and when we decide to do something because you won't, you get your panties in a knot. If you can find some way to mediate this, please contact me. Otherwise, fuck you.

Sincerely,

Mayor Torrowfire

Krugan will watch the protests, quietly measuring the guards response, or lack there of, the general feeling of hin townfolk and once he sees the gnome in orange, he will quietly and casually walk up to him.

"I am a skilled negotiator and offer my services in this matter. I can promise no results other then my efforts to bring the matter to an acceptable close between you and the good hins of Bendir Dale. If you wish, I will speak to Mayor Lyle about your grievances. He is a good and reasonable hin after all. You may leave word at the Nomad in Cordor if you wish to reach me or I am willing to travel to the Triumvir if proper escort can be provided."

He will then nod, and walk to his wagon in the back of the Dale unless there were more questions he needed to answer.

A middle-aged female hin with the symbol of Cyrrollalee has seen the protesters coming about the Dale to state their intent, but seemed surprised when a large group of them was lead into the Dale by this strange gnome. She watched quietly from afar to listen to what they had to say, though she neither seemed to support or denounce the protester's demands.

((I THINK you can no longer say "Describes so-and-so" in the Dale forum as a valid IC post, without describing what they were wearing/looked like in words, but I will reply to this nonetheless to the RP part))

Laurel looks rather disturbed when this man walks up to the Dale with two dead bodies. While she is unsure of the identity of the males or even the female who is being described to her, she seems to have a few ideas for a possible female drow that fits the description. Despite the seemingly benevolent account of Asmodai, she does not seem to be pleased to hear his name either.

"Dear, this Asmodai is nothing but a troublemaker. He is to be killed on sight here in the Dale unless his status has changed overnight. He has harassed us repeatedly, ignored our laws, and ultimately was a part of horrific incident attacking many of us. Even last night, we suspect he lured an Eilistraeean drow atop the hill near the Frontier so that he would be killed by one of the slavers while Asmodai distracted him. While I am glad you are safe, do not trust this man as far as you can throw him."

She pauses and lets out a humored chuckle. "Although, I suppose in your case, that may be quite far seeing as how you single handedly dragged two bodies here. Nonetheless, I will see if the Mayor or the Captains have anything they would like to do with these bodies."

She then goes inside to leave a report to the Captains and the Mayor about two drow slaver bodies being brought in, asking what's to be done about it.

Aquila watches on, silent, from a bench on the hill overlooking Bendir. When the announcement is released, she opens a portal, disappearing into the Triumvir.

Jon Halifast sends a handwritten letter back to Lyle. It seems the poor guy's become stuck in the middle as the corresponder. Or maybe he's doing it on purpose before the Actors cna do anything rash. Or one of a million reasons, who knows.

"Your demands aren't possible. We can't possibly keep a big list of everyone who's banned from any specific little town where the Triumvir anchors itself. We're not police. We're a tavern, a library, and a bard college. This isn't the Triumvir's fault. Sorry this is causing such a fuss for you. You're awful angry, lad, and blaming the wrong people.

As for the whole 'amoral sissies' etc etc, I'd like you to know that we haven't insulted any of your folk in Bendir yet. In fact, most of the actors (and the Travellers) love your little town. But we're not equipped to do the things you want us to do, and any offers of help end up more like "We want to take over." This is the source of the little tiff between the Actors and the Heralds, specifically Elorathall. I'll not go in depth more with that, it's not the issue here. Besides, the Actors are good enough at that.

Muss with that portal if you want, but we don't control it and Gods only know what's going to happen if it gets messed with. Last time it yanked our whole establishment out of Sigil and with it. I wouldn't worry about Bendir though; the bar was physically next door to the college when it happened, and not just connected by portal.

Sincerely.

The Halifasts adn the Traveller's League."

Lyle looks over the note, and shakes his head. "Damn them." And he soon after makes another posting.

Halifast,

Why didn't you simply tell me all of this stuff earlier? And I admit, perhaps calling you sissies as a bit over the line, but come on. People sneak in through your damn portal all the time. Even heard of bad folks using it to pop into Bendir dale and use it in the meeting place. Of course we'll want to you to control it when you leave our backs open for a good stabbing. The actor's guild needs to realize that we want their to be free travel - but keeping the portal is a MAJOR security breach that's become even more apparent of late. I would say I have a pretty damn good reason to be angry if you're telling me I shouldn't guard my town and see that an army doesn't march through and butcher us from behind - and it will happen. It has happened . It feels as if the guild is failing to understand that and painting us as some kind of dictatorship hellbent on isolating ourselves like Winya has.

I don't want to cause any issues for you however, or do anything that would place you or the guild in danger. Truthfully, I had just planned to put a heavy iron door and keep the only key with the mayor's office. I'd ruled out dismantling the portal a while ago, and doubly so when my magical consultants didn't get back to me. If that will not be acceptable, name a time for me to come and meet you.

Dear Lyle, Lyam and Pilineth,

There has been a human male coming inside the Dale continuing to ignore several of our laws, making insulting remarks at us hins, calling us "filthy cretins", and even yelling at Jayek a couple time as he trades with him.

All four times I have seen him, he has always entered the Dale with a helmet, though today he was wearing a different helmet, but helmet nonetheless. He is clad in gray armors with spikes, with bare arms showing for his biceps. His hair is black as the night and it defies gravity for some obscure reason, standing up. His skin is disgustingly pale, white as an egg white. On his cloak is the symbol of Cyric.

I have decided to ignore him when I noticed this man the first two times, despite his rudeness and disregard of our laws, as I saw no particular need to confront him. The third time, however, he was plotting a strange assassination plot with a dwarf, in which Zeo and Souris was a witness to, and we asked the two to git.

The fourth time today, he was insulting a visitor and a friend of mine, harassing him why he was allowed inside the Dale despite this man not having the authority to do so. When I confronted him about the helmet, he continued to call me insulting names, and then begin to recite the laws incorrectly, claiming that law VIII states that face covering be only be removed upon request. He then tried to involve Jayek in the argument, speaking of all of the "good" business he has brought, though Jayek unsurprisingly ignored this man. I have asked him to leave, to which he did comply after a few snarky remarks.

I should also take this moment to note that he is not the only human to have entered the Dale as of late bearing the symbol of Cyric.

While I generally do not confront visitors, particularly if they do not cause trouble, I felt that this one was worth noting.

Thank you sincerely for your hard work as always.

Laurel Beestinger

//OOCly... I know Cyricists are banned, but I don't think Laurel knows of the list of banned people... Last I Rped with Lyle about people on the list, the records was in Lyle's desk at his office.

..Greetings, and warmest wishes.

I am writing because of a disturbing sight within the Dale. I saw a man openly bearing the symbol of Cyric, clad in dark armour. None of the militia I know were about, but I am extremely worried if a person like this is coming in the Dale, as Laurel and a brand new kinfolk of yours were both right there, in easy assault range.
I know I am not a member of your militia, and I would not think to try to trespass on your rights, but may I ask for permission to request such a person speak to a guard if I see them? I am very concerned such a person might be a threat to the good people of the Dale, and my own husband and daughter. I am not sure I could have stopped him, had he attacked Laurel.

I thank you for your time and consideration, and offer the Maiden's blessings.

Aly'dra My'rahel
Dark Lady

It's left publically, but a copy is dropped off privately to Lyle's office.

On the public copy, a female priestess leaves a reply.

Dear Lyle,

This is one of the Cyricists I have reported last night. You have a sketch of this man now that I gave to you earlier.

Sincerely, Laurel Beestinger

My silk business is under direct threat by the specific druids of the Grove. I require someone who is versed in their ways and absolute law to explain the finer details. The law does not seem to be written openly, for it is only trees animals and plants that I see in these wild woods. I wish to secure a means by which I will be allowed to continue my business within' these woods as they hold a favorable location to both my livestock and customer supply in the form of travelers.

I have been attacked a few times, and forced to defend my life on such occasions. -once being brought back from the brink by a sympathetic traveler. All of my attempts to peacefully communicate with members of this circle have been refused, their preferred option is; upon seeing me, leave for a few minutes, and return with every spell they know fully applied telling me to leave or die. Again I say, no peaceful communication has taken place thus far with these indigenous peoples. The situation is dire, timely response is a plus. A portion of my continued business shall go toward the one who aids me with this dilemma, persistent payment based on progressive results toward a favorable trade environment.

The Keeper of Silk,
Theros Ethe'ri

Dear Lyle,
and dear neigbours and friends of the Grove,

I wish to inform you that the elf Theros, who placed the above note in your fair city, has once again attacked in the forest.

After beeing approached by a druid of the Grove and asked to remove his merchant stall, he once again became violent immediately. Not only did he fire a hellball in the middle of the forest, but after killing said member of the Grove, he also fed him to his spider and let it suck him dry.

I recommend you to be very cautious with this individual.

Malandria
