Fellow Bendir Dalers, We missed Highharvestide this year. There were a lot of things that simply took priority, but as Autumn slips through our fingers and Winter begins to overtake us, this most important of holidays to Hin Society must be observed. I would ideally like to do this before the end of Marpenoth, giving us roughly two tendays to prepare and plan the festivities. Here are some of the events I have in mind. Please feel free to suggest any other events or if you think you would like to help out with any! Pie Baking Contest All Dalers and friends are welcome to participate in a pie baking contest. The baker of the Best Pie, chosen by the judges (Elders), will be crowned the Prince or Princess of the Harvest for this year. Feast We'll need lots of other bakers and cooks to provide food and drinks for the feast. If you would like to volunteer your services, please let me know. Pie Eating Contest Everyone is invited to try their stomachs at the Pie Eating Contest. The winner will take home a prize declaring them the Biggest Eater of the Harvest. Burning the Effigy We say goodbye to last year's woes by burning an effigy. Write your woes and stick them in the giant straw figure, which the Harvest Prince or Princess will torch at the end of the feast. I completely forgot to leave a note here, but I have been working on drinks for this and I will be baking some of my signature Oldfur pies! Fosco can help with the food, too. You can count on the Oldfurs to bring a bunch of booze and food to a party! Pebbles |
