A curious little wizardess, by the book in her arms and the circles on her forehead, can be seen poking around, especially paying rapt attention to the guards of the area, trying to get an idea what is needed for them, in the way of armour.

When spoken to, she introduces herself as Akirishepsut, or Akiri, a follower of Thoth and Hathor who seeks to aid Djedet and its people however she's able. She's a bit flighty, and tends to stammer, as she seeks to speak faster than her mouth will allow, and can occasionally come across as aloof. However, one who watches or has a decent ability to understand people might be able to reconcile that as being her mind hard at work on various things, as the smiles and attention she does pay is warm and welcoming, thoroughly honest care.

There is a young, lightly bronzed Mulhorandi woman with dark hair at her shoulders seen more often as of late around the island of Khem. When in Djedet or other settlements she can be seen smiling and conversing with anyone that would speak with her, or perhaps just purchasing for the various merchants. Any that pay attention to what she buys would notice small quantities of healing supplies and potions. The smile upon her lips almost never leaves her face as she goes about her business.

If seen outside of the settlements, one would note that she is typically wearing armor and surrounded by powerful enchantments, as well as being accompanied by an Azer. During these times, she would be using a quarterstaff as a walking stick and could be seen, by those that had spells to see through invisibility, that she was making maps of the areas she was in. Despite the invisibility she would not be hiding what she was doing, and it would seem that it was more for her safety as she traversed the more dangerous areas of the island.

Obsidian-skinned female can be seen making quick stops at the town, usually to buy some potions and healing supplies. If stopped and asked to identify herself, she would introduce herself as Kala, daughter of Abasi and servant of Anhur.
Outside of Djedet, she can be seen roaming the desert, running after bandits and other troublesome creatures with great enthusiasm, only stopping to check occasional ore vein she stumbles on.

The powerful chested sallow-skinned Sekhry is often seen moving about the town speaking to the guards and talking to the commoners. It seems that his position and the lack of other leadership has given him more authority that he must wield.

Quietly, almost seeming to avoid conversation, a tiny Mulan woman can be seen purchasing household and cooking supplies around Djedet, which she takes to the house just to the left of the Inn, the house of the Priest of Osiris, Imhotep. If seen accompanying him, she is two paces behind him, except when stepping forward to introduce him to the few citizens she is acquainted with. At other times, out in the desert's sands, she reveals an uncanny knack for magic, very unexpected for her shy, timid, submissive behavior in town.

Little Talyne is rarely seen in the city itself, but can often be found in Khalem, working the fertile land near the river right along with with the slaves Asiya oversees. Always polite, she gives the slaves helpful advice on how to tend the crops most effectively and how to leave as little impact on the land as possible. The cuts and bruises of the people's hard labor are always eased with a kind word and a softly spoken orison. She seems more at home with the hard-working, honest slaves, her shy demeanor falling away with the heavy labor, telling bawdy stories and jesting openly with any near her. She does not shirk her own labor either, working till sweat soaks through her simple linen robe, and liberally using her druidic magic and Isis' blessings to ensure the crops are strong and bountiful for everyone. With her around, the fields are never thirsty, and the trees always heavy with dates and coconuts. As night falls, she travels with the slaves, carrying the bounty of their labor back to Djedet, large baskets overflowing with all manner of produce. Once the food is secured in the storehouses, she quietly wraps herself in a heavy cloak and cowl, and disappears into the night, and from the city, only to be found in the fields the next day...

Aoth is seen less and less as time goes on. His rare ventures into Djedet are often in silence as he simply walks in the walls just as quickly as he walks out. Not even Nera; his familiar, is with him as he travels. Seems the wizard is busy.

Tauronemhet is rarely seen in Djedet only stopping by on occasion to resupply and then returning to the desert. The motives of the arbitrator are not known to any and he would only offer perfunctory greetings to other Mulhorandi before moving off again.

Dios regularly tends to papyrus crops on the banks of the River Khalem, creating a bulk supply of papyrus scrolls. He is also seen taking measurements of buildings in Djedet, as well as consulting whatever religious documents are held in the town, despite the lack of a library or Temple of Thoth. His reasons for this are as yet unclear, but he seems enthusiastic.

Thakar can be seen often carrying water or foot to one of the houses and otherwise being busy learning the are within the township.

Occasionally, he is seen with the woman and addresses her as Honored Priestess Aziza Massri, keeping his eyes downward as he speaks to her.

If stopped or asked about his Honored One, he simply states she is recovering from the sea voyage and he is attending her as is his duty.

When not doing this, he is seen around Wharftown talking to the leatherworker and tanner and hunting for animals for hides.

*Rumors spread that Mahir received a letter from his estranged father recently*

The day after he allegedly received the letter he gives commands to the guard to keep the town safe and to report anything to the Arbitrator, skipping his office of Sekhry.

He is seen with a small pack and bedroll wearing only his light leather armor and a robe to ward against the piercing sands, he leaves Djedet and hikes off toward the cliffs on his own.

Citizens would notice a sphynx being constructed east of town. An earth gensai busy with its construction, her hands seemingly removing stone that simply doesnt need to be there, revealing the sphynx detail in remarkable fashion. Construction continues with Theebe overseeing the construction.

A copper dragon kin, familiar to some, can be seen stopping by the site of the sculpture. She moves close to voice her approval to the earth genasi, and remains for some time. Zelly delivers a paper to Theebe and gives her a bright smile, and then takes her leave quietly.

Green robed genasi female would be working on the sphinx statue almost tirelessly for days, stopping only for short breaks for food and some needed rest, which would usually spend in the shade near the statue, in meditative pose. Onlookers would notice she is really doing all the work with her hands only, with surgically precise fist strikes that would remove larger unnecessary chucks, purple ki glowing in her eyes with each strike. She would then move her hands over the rough outlines of the statue, removing smaller pieces of granite with swift brushes of her palms and fingers, almost in a manner sculptor would remove clay. She keeps to her work, preferring to be left alone, but will introduce herself to authoritiy figures as Gromida.

Dios is seen less frequently, evidently the priest of Thoth is busy. He dictates the odd papyrus letter home, and messenger tubes come and go from Mulhorand. They all appear to be in strange writings, each with a waxen seal of Thoth - an ibis above an ankh.

The troubles affecting Djedet and the Khelem does not seem to impact Dios particularly, but he would sympathise with Azizi during his infrequent trading and say that he certainly saw this coming. Indeed, despite the fact that the priest is not really affected, he seems to betray his opinion in Djedet whenever asked (and when not asked) during his trips through the town. "Djedet is a trade town, that is what my people never understand", "Barring travellers strangles the banks of the River Khalem", "they would bar a merchant on only the word of a competitor?", and so on.

*Time to time a man wearing a grey tunic and hood could be spotted around and in the city. He usually offers some goods to the local merchants, conducing his secular business. If look closer, a tabbar of the Eternal Order could be noticed, half-covered under the tunic. Casually he asks about the city and the matters about it, exposing a natural, rather naive, curiosity.*

Aoth resides surprisingly comfortably within the complex barracks, always seeming to enjoy the lesser comforts of life. He settles in fairly easily, resting upon the furthest end within the barracks with his stave, spell tome and his scroll case always resting just beside him. Often he reads a book or two before conducting his prayers then sleeping the night. He sleeps easier with his surroundings.

Despite all the happenings the Sekhry is seen next to the Oasis just before sundown letting the young Fu'murik spar with a spear, he seems to be teaching him first how to defend himself by attacking the boy with a various different weapons and then letting him thrust against a combat dummy.

The boy is tired but tries hard... What he lacks in strength he makes up for in Will..

Anyone watching would notice his exceptional footwork and positioning of his shoulders and center of gravity.

Aoth continues to study of the Red Hand Prophecy, regardless of any temptation to a hunt or leave the his house unless it is relevant to his study, he remains in Djedet library often seeking references, reading through nearly all relevant books within the library, scribing any useful information he may find and has occupied the rent able house on the opposite side of the Complex to study, making regular trips between the complex and the house with books in hand, quills and ink wells and more papyrus on which to write his study down...

Any who take the time to notice him, they would spot a rather unhidden (and obvious!) mark over his heart; a feather coloured green to be exact. He remains silent to any who ask of it and is often to deep in his research to even notice another.. Unless of course they happen to be a priest, in which he present himself properly and return to his study...

A familiar copper kin seems to be spending more time in Djedet suddenly. She wears her usual green and copper clothing, though for the first time she makes an adjustment to her cloak which allows a symbol of a green feather that's been etched into her scales to be partially seen on her chest, right above her heart. There's a certain seriousness about her and she seems to primarily want to find Sekhry Muharib to speak with him. She has with her a large book which she carries under one arm most of the time.

Probably not far behind her, although whether they arrived together or not is unclear is a young looking drowess with deep blue eyes, and long silver white curls. She dresses in light silks and satins, and has the appearance of one who is light hearted and carefree, but her expression tells of a different seriousness. Her chest bears an identical mark of a green feather, and she seeks to speak with the Sekhry as well. . . . but being a drow, she just catches up to Zelly and stays super close.

Salema, the young and completely non-traditional and obviously Mulhorandi woman, has started to make short trips back to Djedet once more. For some time she had not made an appearance, but it seems that she has freed time to return to the island that hosts those she calls her 'sisters and brothers'. To her credit, she usually is seen wearing her no-quite-as-revealing attire, though that is not at all to say she is not exposed in some way, just tastefully so.

If anyone were inclined to stop her, she would happily smile to them and converse in either Mulhorandi or common, depending on the person's preference. She would take great care to offer everyone, slave and guard and priestess and elder alike regardless of status, a kind, warm smile and a thoroughly friendly hello. As always, her symbol of Sharess would be gleaming proudly upon her breast.

// FYI if anyone actually wants to meet up, let me know. Kinda tossed this here to generate RP since I have four chars I'm splitting attention for lol

Had anyone questioned the Drowess within the town, a quiet wizard looking quite tired and weary would respectfully tell them she is a friend of the Mulhorandi, should it be a priest to question her, the wizard would be somewhat more calm and respectful in his approach.

Talyne seems to have come into her own, no longer meek and retiring but calm and self-assured, though always kind and respectful. She seems to hold herself with a certain grace, though she seems routinely preoccupied, with a far-away expression. One of her feathers has been dyed a brilliant emerald. When she is not reading under the fig tree, she is found walking along the inside of the walls, running her hand along the stones, murmuring quietly to herself. She often stops and notes the location along the wall when she encounters any brittle or roughly-hewn areas of stone. Along the way she spend considerable time inspecting the wooden gates.

About the settlement of Djedet, and within the township compound, one mustached mage seems to be present more often. Within the compound, Ulrik can be seen reading over various tomes, mostly dealing with history. His pace is slow, however, and one might guess he is attempting to learn the language through immersion. He may ask those who frequent the compound for a translation of a passage from time to time, and from there, begin to piece together more of the language. Though, by-in-large, his efforts are solitary and unobtrusive to the rest.

While about the settlement, he might be seen speaking with folks, in an attempt to practice speaking this new language. Due to the heat, a few buttons of his shirt are left open, and the symbol of a green feather would be visible, etched over his heart. To any who do not know him that inquire, the obvious magician would introduce himself simply as 'Ulrik Valis, of Mystra.'

If Salema happens past Ulrik she would smile and greet him warmly with the Mulhorandi phrase 'Em-Hotep' and then continuing in a more normal, for non-Mulans, greeting in Common. Likewise if he wished to practice his Mulhorandi, she would happily stop and converse with him in a mix of Common and her native tongue, clearly delighted in his interest in their language and jesting with him as he slowly learns, though clearly in a kind-hearted fashion.

A rather humorous sight to see, the young drowess struggles into the city with six bags of holding of donated food coming to a total of six thousand pounds of food. It is a an assortment of dried meats, cheeses, sealed fruits, vegetables, whole grain for making bread, rice for boiling, juice for drinking, quite a bit of crackers, sealed soups and stews, and other odds and ends she managed to collect in her scramble to collect food. It is delivered to the Complex along with two chickens, and a bag of grain to feed them.

The Sekhry who happened to be in the Bazaar as she entered helps her take the bags inside. He notifies Asiya of the transaction and the it is her duty as Vizier to see that it is parceled out fairly.

Those with keen eyes would notice a ring missing on his right hand and a faint tan line of it's absence.

Since hearing some of what occurred on Khem, Salema seems to be spending a large portion of her time here. She only seems to leave when called for, or to return to the Temple of Love. She busies herself with tending to anyone that might require her skills or to simply speak reassuringly to those she meets, a smile never leaving her face and only those who look truly close would see the concern deep in her chocolate eyes. Every now and then, she goes out on her own into the deserts wearing a gorgeous set of purple and blue armor, a cloak with Sharess' symbol on her shoulders, and walking with her trusty quarterstaff as a walking stick with an Azer to keep her company.

Hashim Hoios is seen packing up his belongings in crates and storing them up on a caravan leaving Djedet. He wears a white scarf around his mouth as to not inhale the ash that occasionally falls over djedet. He labels his belongings and some coinage is exchanged with the caravanner's guide as per praxis.
To any whom might be near he is quick to inform them that this is the wrath of
Kossuth, that this town and part of the khalem is no longer safe to be in. He also makes it VERY clear that it would be unwise to inhale the tiny particles that float with the breeze from the eruption, They are most probably toxic.

Under his breath he may also mutter about the sehkyr barring his entry to the township of djedet, mumbling about 'Power rising to the sekhy's head' and not understanding the implications of a sign like this. The fire genasi hires a room at the tavern and informs the tavernkeeper that he will be leaving early in the morning for good.

Aoth's time is spent in deep research, he would hardly even notice if a priest were to pass by him, and would jump as if frightened as they snap at him for improper customs, but of course correcting himself he goes back into his research, sending letters, reading books, asking questions, pondering theories and the like. He would, in his spare time (or what spare time he has) seek out the elders in search for knowledge on this forgotten deity; Anubis. After the day, his eyes would drift shut as he prays for the guidance of Ma'at before sleeping...

Ulrik would spend time with both Kala and Salema, practicing the language of the Mulhorandi. He takes Salema's jests in a rather good-natured manner. Though he would not spend long with either, not wanting to tax anyone's time in these dire days. When not studying Mulhorandi history and language, his time is spent aiding the people of Djedet, and, in meetings with those of power and station in the township.

And, as ever, the symbol of the green feather over his heart is visible...

Though Tuomas would lend what hand he can, he is mostly drained by his Artisanry works on behalf of the Sehkry.

Sutekh would do his best not to be a pest or get in the way too much as he acclimates himself to life in Djedet. Helping out where he can, wearing a cloth over his mouth and nose to reduce the amount of ash he breathes in.

The young magus, Akirishepsut, has found her niche assisting the young, infirm, old and slaved in this time of trouble, offering food and ensuring every last one is well hydrated and has a scarf to cover their face. Those that don't get a tightly-woven silk face covering she's made herself.

After the events of the previous night and early morning, a young Mulan man in faded blue and brown traveler's cloths sought refuge in a room (or common room as the case may be) within the inn of Djedet. He makes a point of keeping to himself, and does not seem to leave the inn, only even venturing downstairs for the occasional light snack.

A coin could be seen constantly rolling along the knuckles of one hand, and anyone close enough might catch the occasional mumbled mutterings as he goes about his stay, entirely lost in thought.

As the man seems new and the Sekhry is worried of the random faces in the town he sends word that he would speak to him.

Zelly does not seem to leave Djedet anymore, and if she goes outside the gates it's only when she's with someone else. There seems to be a weight on her shoulders, but she still does her best to remain cheerful and reassuring. The copper kin is perhaps surprisingly dedicated to the task she has been given and she is often seen speaking with the Feathersworn or with others that are sometimes referred to as Chosen.

Laurel is sometimes seen visiting Djedet to donate some food, though her stay often isn't very long since she needs to go back to the Dale as the new Mayor.

Jackie doesn't seem to be leaving Djedet much in the coming days, and is often seen sitting in the Complex studying some book, discussing said book with Ulrik, or off to the side conferring with her father. The usual skip in her step is gone, and replaced with a stature of somber resolve.

Like others bearing the mark of Ma'at, the green feather, the magician Ulrik does not leave the safety of Djedet during his time in the sands. Time is spent conferring with others, attending studies with the drow sorceress Jackie, and his continued research in the compound. He still spends time practicing the language with those inclined to assist, his progress slow but steady.

He is, as well, preparing to perform another divination. Which dominates the majority of his time, spent in the township compound. Yet, he may be one of the few who does not retire for the night within the beleaguered settlement. Still, he is always seen with the dawn.

The Sekhry awakens from his first rest in days. His body feels rejuvenated but his mind still feels fatigued. He seeks out those who are looking for him and tries to arrange quick chats with all those involved.

After rising in the morning, Salema would be seen for a very short time in the middle of the the town. It would seem that she had risen early to avoid running into many people. For a brief moment she pauses to leave a small sign at the tree near the other merchants. After it is securely placed, she moves quickly away, once more wearing her armor, and as she departs the gates any that happened to be awake would hear her voice calling out the Sharess and the sounds of enchantments being cast, slowly fading in the distance.

She would not be seen for the rest of the day.

The sign, written in Mulhorandi at the top and then Common under, would read as follows:

Dearest sisters and brothers and friends,

While I am staying here in Djedet I want to offer to you all my services of divine wand and scroll making. If there is anything that you require, please do not hesitate to ask it of me. My gifts are your gifts. My enchantments and blessings are yours. It is my pleasure to service the needs of our community and friends in any way that I am able. You may leave word on this sign, or at the inn, and I will attend them as soon as humanly possible.

Never forget that Sharess is still Bast, our fierce lady of love and war, and that She shall always watch over you.

With deepest love,
-Salema

Under both the signatures is a branding of a pair of lips, Sharess' symbol.

Sutekh would pass through town ocasionally, socializing with passerbys and helping where he can while he purchases suppiles. Obiviously been training elsewhere he returns at night to make a patrol before resting a leaving before daylight, head wrapped in simple covering to deter ash and sand, the glowing golden orbs that are his eyes glowing in the darkness.

Salema eventually made her way back into the township from the desert, looking awfully fatigued. It seemed she had indeed spent all day out there doing the gods only know what. Sand was speckled over her usually bright armor and hooded cloak, denoting that she hadn't bothered to clean it since then. Her trusty staff sank into the ground as she leaned on it, looking for a moment as if she had the weight of Toril on her shoulders.

But then, the bright lining of life fond her as Emilly emerged from the complex room where the Shemsu always meets. They embraced and smiled to one another, the Mulan's head resting on the other's armored shoulder as they spoke quietly and eventually retired to Salema's inn room.

She emerged perhaps a half hour later, alone, and the change in her was obvious. Again she was happy, smiling and freshly bathed, and her armor had been quickly cleaned. She only had the energy left to speak with Nefertari and Talyne for a short time when they returned, then excusing herself to go find a certain copperkin to curl up next to.

Once again, the priestess was happy.
