Upon the Tropical island about noon day a babies cry rings out between the sounds of the waves upon the beach...

Under a cliff side near the beached old ship...

A camp of many is set and a few figures...

A large figure clad in red, orange and pitch black kneeling before a exhausted blue scaled kin woman, he holds the squirming and screaming infant, while she is propped up upon cushions and beneath a old tree, a sigh of relief as the female slumps, but soon her arms holds out to receive the flailing and screaming newborn boy. At her side is a black scaled kin, his arm mangled badly by claws digging in, he lays back and clenches his arm to his chest after the ordeal is over.

The newborn now united with his mother clings to her exhausted form and she murrs and coos to the boy as they just hold tight, the boy screams no more, contently nursing, she just peers down, muttering a near silent prayer to The Avarice.

Another figure approaches the scene a sturdy dwarven male, just back from a hunt, he sits on a nearby chair and peers over the scene.

The moment of silence, as the being is finally brought into this world and the light, and warmth of his mothers arms.

An old friend to Stormy, Kald had been keeping tabs on her for the last few months of the pregnancy. Having Fathered Loyal, and Jabar, and 7 children by Kai, he was an old hand at this by now. He was no healer to be sure, but would pass as a great midwife. A huge, ugly-as-sin midwife. And he was bound and determined to not let down one of his oldest and truest friends in her time of need. In the middle of an orchard of apple trees in Howness, one of Kalds quasits appears to report to him. Delivering news that Stormy had been straining herself again, carrying an unconscious man, possibly injured, to the tropical island she lives on. With a subtle curse about the stubbornness of dragonkin, especially women, he packs up the apples he had harvested and heads to the island in all haste.

On reaching the island camp, Kald sees stormy standing over yet another of their mutual friends, his hands and feet severely frost burnt. Priorities dictated that he check on the one obviously injured first, but he seemed to be in good hands. As there was a Salandrin cleric tending to him and a women who obviously cared deeply for the injured man, Kald felt he was more of a third wheel when trying to help the man. So he gave them some specially brewed cider that was brewed with loads of rose lily to act as a pain killer, and stepped out of the way. Now focusing on Stormy and her all-to-ready-to-pop prego belly.

With little hesitation at all Kald gave a bottle of the special cider to Stormy as well, with instructions to keep it for the big moment. Then precedes to mock-lecture her for straining herself. As they talked the cleric and the caring women tended to the injured man till he was safe to be moved. Meanwhile yet another friend came stalking up. A short and burly, rather well known stout hearted dwarf who simply looked around briefly, made his greetings, and set up camp. He saw that Stormy was ready to pop any time now, but she had been like that for a couple weeks now. Still the dwarf wanted to spend some time with his old friends Kald and Stormy. Shortly after he finished setting up his camp and checking in with Stormy yet again, the cleric, the caring women, and the injured man traveled through the woman’s portal to take the man home to rest. He would recover eventually, but the two wanted to keep a close watch on him.

Kald, Stormy and the dwarf, now left alone on the tropical island sat talking for a little while about nothing at all. The sea air stirring softly in the brease, smelling of salt and hinting at a coming storm. While Kald and the dwarf were catching up with one another Stormy seemed to disappear without either man noticing. At least not until she came strolling up again a while later with another dragonkin beside her. This one a black-kin male. The new arrival seemed rather uncomfortable with the presence of the non-kin males there, and stuck closely to Stormys side. At least until Kald and the dwarf started drinking some spirits out of a special tiny red crystalline flask of Kalds. Hearing their conversation, he was rather intrigued as to just what they were drinking. Conversation between the three over the Rashemi fire wine from the flask, eased the tension between the black-kin, Kald, and the dwarf, considerably. The dwarf, once a little buzzed from the spirits, started feeling a bit feisty, and ran off to hunt. Freshly equipped with a bunch of high level scrolls that he had Stormy make for him. Little did he know that casting all those high level spells would induce her labor.

Talking and drinking, the black-kin and Kald both turned as one to look at Stormy when she lets out a low grumbling growl, clenching her clawed hand into a fist. "uh oh... I know that sound...... Kai went through that!" Said Kald, as all three of them recognized the contractions for what they were. The black-kin rushing to Stormys right arm and Kald rushing to her left, they ushered her to the coushins to lay down. Seeing that not only was it time to deliver the baby, but that absolutely nobody else was there with any experience in delivering babies, Kald stepped up as midwife as he had hoped he would be able to. He ordered the black-kin to get some water boiling and get some clean towels, then rolled Stormys dress up to her knees, trying to be respectful of her privacy. Stormy tells Kald she is not worried about her privacy, nor the dress which she intended to burn when this was all over. So Kald ripped the skirt of the dress into a "V" clear up to the beltline, and folded the fabric over either side of her legs. The Black-kin followed orders perfectly and acted quite admirably as the birthing processed. Dabbing the sweat from Stormys brow with one hand, while the other arm was all but torn off and turned to hamburger by Stormy during each contraction, he proved himself a true friend and took it all in stride giving encouraging words all the wile. The labor was long and difficult, and as the cool and dark of night settled on the island Kald couldn't help but be grateful for the cool sea breeze. Giving orders and coaching both the dragon-kin through the birthing, Kald wondered just where the father was. How could he miss this? He would surely regret it no doubt. If not due to his own guilt, then because Stormy was bound to let him know just how badly he had messed up by not being there. All through the night the labor continued, and into the early morning. Until finally, at nearly high noon the next day, the miracle was finished and the child was born. An absolutely beautiful baby boy. With pale indigo skin and semi-pointed ears, big vibrant blue eyes, and dark blue hair, the child was adorable by any standards. Kald cleaned the child up and handed him to his exhausted mother to see for the first time, then proceeded to clean her up and apply a healing salve to prevent infection and stop the bleeding.

Ulharisk'Iol Rimaal Hadey Kald'Dan Stormweaver- Auvrea'athem had entered the world.

A large black-scaled, winged man with a pair of bony horns running down the sides of his cheeks like mutton chops stands boredly reveling in the drizzle of an afternoon squall in the Wiltun fortress. Watching the passersby with his typical air of pompousness, Ash is quite certain of his superiority.

It is not until his gaze lands upon the blue scaled skin of a kin known to most as Stormy that his visage softens. Her belly swollen in the late stages of pregnancy, she moves slowly over to him with a smile and a wave.

They exchange greetings and idle chatting for a bit, when she requests the black scale to accompany her. She tells him that there are many lesser beings where she is going and that, in her condition, she would appreciate the presence of another kin. He readily agrees, not wanting her to have to exert herself in defense if they prove 'uppity'. Moments later they are whisked away to a tropical island location.

His first sight upon emerging from the magical gate is a trio of sheep ambling about near an oddly shaped cave entrance. His mouth waters at the thought of fresh mutton.

They make their way along the shoreline and come across a rather well stocked camp site. There are several different people there and their close proximity to the gravid blue sets Ash on edge. One human is lying on his back on a carpet stripped down to his underclothes and is braced on either side by a human priest of Salandra and a green clad elven looking girl. Off to the side are an odd pair. A large dark-skinned creature with firey red hair and a bearded stump that can only be a dwarf.

The man is in the throes of some ailment and his moans can be clearly heard across the beach. Fearing some contagion Ash entertains the thought of tossing the man in the sea to be consumed by the denizens of the deep. The decision is taken out of his hands as the Salandran announces his intention to move the man elsewhere. Ash sighs almost disappointedly as they are whisked away by another portal.

He is quite reticent with the other two and is bade by Stormy to go butcher one of the sheep for dinner. He returns a bit later with a goodly amount of blood upon his clothes and hands and a good bit around his mouth. In his hand is a single shoulder of mutton. Anyone passing by the cave would notice a thin coating of highly corrosive acid which seems to have been applied in a cone shaped blast, melting any leftover bits of sheep.

Ash places the shoulder on a table near to the fire and moves to the waterline to clean himself off. He is still not entirely comfortable with the strangers and eyes them with carefully concealed suspicion, reserving judgement mostly due to the familiarity they seem to have with Stormy. By and by the two pull out a couple bottles drinking heartily from them, each bragging a bit about the potency of their brews. Ash feels somewhat compelled to test the truthness of the odlly colored half-orc's boasts, having never before tasted Rashemi fire wine. The drink tastes quite pleasing to the kin and his measure of friendliness increases a bit toward the monstrous humanoid.

The dwarf seems to feel his liquor a bit and heads off to bash a few things. And Ash is left alone with Stormy and the other. He learns that he is called Kald and is the adopted family of Stormy. They stand around conversing for a bit until a growl from Stormy draws there attention. Kald seems to recognize the sound from previous experience and warns Ash that her time has come and the two move to either side of her and assist her to a pile of cushions.

Never having witnessed a birthing before he stands around watching the process curiously, not really having any idea of what to do. Kald takes charge and delegates Ash to the task of boiling water and gathering some cloth. Ash moves quickly at his assigned tasks and returns a bit later with an armful of steaming towels having been sterilized in a pot of boiling water. He deposits them in easy reach and takes up a position kneeling at Stormy's side for moral support.

He quietly dabs at the sweat beading up on her forhead. Under the influence of the pain and pressure of heavy contractions, she latches onto Ash's arm with a clawed hand. No stranger to pain and often almost Loviatarian in his enjoyment of it, he takes the injury stoically counting on his inherent regenerative power to handle any damage that might occur.

The delivery increases in intensity and so too does the intensity of her grip. His tolerance is pushed to its limits as the labor intensifies the innate strength within all dragon-bloods and his arm is nearly torn from its socket as the muscle tissue is rended beyond anything he has had to endure.

As if this was not enough, magic begins pouring from her as Kald urges her to push. The baby begins to crown and her body begins to protect itself with spells of defense and assault and Ash is blasted with a cone of cold. The head pushes further out and magical thunder nerely deafens them.

With a final push the baby emerges into the world deftly caught by the experienced Kald. Stormy finally releases her mangling grip as Kald cleans the babe, swaddling it in warm blankets. Ash collapses backward in relief holding his ravaged and bleeding arm close to his body as Kald passes the newborn to his waiting mother. Ash looks down at his injury and knows full well some priest is going to eat well on the fee for repairing it. The last thing he sees is Stormy holding little Iol lovingly a look of contentment on her face. As his vision slowly fades to black he grins and whispers to himself "Worth every penny."

Itiireae burst out of the water near the shipwreck, triumphant grin on her bluish green skin face, her hair, the colour of sea weed, she held a fish in her webbed hand. Dinner had been caught. Her giant Sea Harpoon, looked like it was made for hunting giant sized sharks, in her other webbed hand.

She reflected back on days gone by, the scaled Dragonkin lizard people had gone, left the island it seemed. She kept to the water in those days, observing from afar, but never approaching them. Denonopalopolous, the Sea Triton in the area, mentioned that those one's were likely black of heart and best avoided.

It was now safe to live there, it seemed, and even if they did come, she was confident in her abilities to skewer them, should they cause any trouble.

Over the last few weeks, she had waged relentless war on her arch enemy, the Sahuagin, but beyond raids upon their temple, her land based mercenaries usually lost the heart out of the fight and abandoned her attempts to convince them to continue onwards it seemed. A sad fact of life, when dealing with the weaker races as it were...

In all the world, she was fairly unique, but it also made life a lonely existence. The "water genasi" although, she wasn't quite sure if that were correct either, since she was part Sea Elf rather than human, found no others like her; although she had heard of some other Aquatic Elves on land or another Water Genasi...but had never met or seen them.

She went about lighting the fire, just like she had been taught, using coconut shell hair as the tinder base and rubs her flint and steel together to create sparks, blowing beneath the fire gently to get it going. Cooking fish in her pan, adding butter, she made a dish called by the humans, "Fried Bass". Still, she couldn't work out the point of cooking the fish but it did taste quite different...so thought it was fun and did it anyway...
