A fine papyrus letter, sealed with a wax symbol of House Osirant, finds its way to Captain Ashby.
Honoured Captain,
you have served the region navigating the treacherous Alambar in your vessel countless times. I come to you with an offer from House Osirant, to provide you with the means to build a mighty vessel and hire a crew worth your skill. In exchange, I would ask you to offer your services to the tourists of the West and ferry them across the Alambar to the shore where they seek treasure and fame.
Too many of the adventurers tread the soil of our holy temple, which is the only known direct route to this particular shore and its ley line. Name what you require for this task, and House Osirant shall provide it, and reward you well.

The priest of House Osirant visits the Captain in person and would ask her in a friendly manner to reply soon with a decision, for the wood to build a ship might also be used to build a bridge to the other shore.
