So simple this question sounds on the surface. How to tip the balance? yet long ago i would listen to the druids as they spouted lectures to those who would hear. I however have come to a single conclusion based on what i have learned that, while in contrast to all druidic lore; is the only possible answer.

No being can tip the balance if it exists, and if it is not there then trying to do so is a foolish endeavor.

The reasons for this are simple. under the assumption that all creatures are of "nature" so must all intelligent beings be. "the balance" however is often described as the natural order of things meaning that all things done by a creature are in fact in tune with the balance no matter what that action is. From this we can extrapolate that all beings are part of that same order; weather said being is in fact of a higher order of mind or not having no bearing on the end reasoning.

This leads to the realization that the natural world is in fact a changing and dynamic place, far flung from the stone engraved laws of the druidic cults that have taken root in so many woodlands. a simple example would be the deforestation of a large woodland. just as the smaller creatures are hunted to fulfill the needs of a predator so is the woodland taken in order to build a city; only changing is the amount of resources in question.

but then how is one able to describe waste? the burning of farmland by armies or the consumption of unneeded resources by the higher orders of life? once again the answer is simple and can be found in the understanding that nature cannot commit crimes inherently damaging to itself, and thusly although there will undoubtedly be consequences for the all orders of beings affected by the event, the said event is in itself, not unnatural.

on the note of various extra-plainer beings it seems that one would first like to classify them as unnatural in the extreme. however one must realise once more that on a grand and universal level the planes surly must have always interacted with each other in some form. this brings the conclusion that should creatures migrate from one to another, it is simply nature on a larger scale than is normal.
