*The following tome would be found in the library in Cordor, with the author making updates as required.*

All For Me Grog

Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog
It's all for me beer and tobacco
For I spent all me tin with the lassies drinking gin
Far across the western ocean I must wander

Where are me boots, me noggin', noggin' boots?
They're all gone for beer and tobacco
For the heels they are worn out and the toes are kicked about
And the soles are looking out for better weather

Where is me shirt, my noggin', noggin' shirt?
It's all gone for beer and tobacco
For the collar is all worn, and the sleeves they are all torn
And the tail is looking out for better weather

I'm sick in the head and I haven't been to bed
Since first I came ashore with me slumber
For I spent all me dough on the lassies movin' slow
Far across the Western Ocean I must wander

Where is me bed, me noggin' noggin bed
It's all gone for beer and tobacco
Well I lent it to a whore and now the sheets are all tore
And the springs are looking out for better whether.

Where is me wench, me noggin' noggin' whence
She's all gone for beer and tobacco
Well her (clap) is all worn out and her (clap) is knocked about
And her (clap) is looking out for better whether.

(Performed in the Noway)

Wild Women Don't Get the Blues

I hear these women raving 'bout their monkey men
About their trifling husbands and their no good friends
These poor women sit around all day and moan
Wondering why their wandering papa's don't come home
But wild women don't worry, wild women don't have no blues

Now when you've got a man, don't never be on the square
'Cause if you do he'll have a woman everywhere
I never was known to treat no one man right
I keep 'em working hard both day and night
'Cause wild women don't worry, wild women don't have their blues

I've got a disposition and a way of my own
When my man starts kicking I let him find another home
I get full of good liquor, walk the streets all night
Go home and put my man out if he don't act right
Wild women don't worry, wild women don't have their blues

You never get nothing by being an angel child
You better change your ways and get real wild
I wanna tell you something, I wouldn't tell you a lie
Wild women are the only kind that really get by
'Cause wild women don't worry, wild women don't have their blues

The Lusty Young Smith

A lusty young smith at his vice stood a-filing.
His hammer laid by but his forge still aglow.
When to him a buxom young damsel came smiling,
And asked if to work in her forge he would go.

Rum, rum, rum. Rum, rum, rum.
In and out. In and out. Ho!
"I will," said the smith, and they went off together,
Along to the young damsel's forge they did go.
They stripped to go to it, 'twas hot work and hot weather.
They kindled a fire and she soon made him blow.

Her husband, she said, no good work could afford her.
His strength and his tools were worn out long ago.
The smith said "Well mine are in very good order,
And I am now ready my skill for to show."

Red hot grew his iron, as both did desire,
And he was too wise not to strike while 'twas so.
Said she, "What I get I get out of the fire,
So prithee, strike home and redouble the blow."

Six times did his iron, by vigorous heating,
Grow soft in her forge in a minute or so,
But as often was hardened, still beating and beating,
But the more it was softened, it hardened more slow.

When the smith rose to go, quoth the dame full of sorrow:
"Oh, what would I give could my husband do so.
Good lad with your hammer come hither tomorrow,
But pray could you use it once more ere you go!
"

Tonight is What it Means to be Young

I've got a dream 'bout an angel on the beach
And the perfect waves that start in the cove
His hair is flying out in ribbons of gold
And his touch has got the power to stone
I've got a dream 'bout an angel in the forest
Enchanted by the edge of a lake
His body's flowing in the jewels of light
And the earth below him's starting to shake

But I don't see any angels in the city
I don't hear any holy choirs sing
And if I can't get an angel
I can still get a boy
And a boy will be the next be thing
The next best thing to an angel
A boy'd be the next best thing

I've got a dream 'bout a boy in a castle
And he's dancing like a cat on the stairs
He's got the fire of a prince in his eyes
And the thunder of a drum in his ear
I've got a dream 'bout a boy on a star
Looking down upon the realm of the world
He's there all alone and dreams of someone like me
I'm not an angel but at least I'm a girl

I've got a dream when the darkness is over
We'll be laying in the rings of the sun
But it's only a dream and tonight is for real
You'll never know what it means
But you'll know how it feels
It's gonna be over (over)
Before you know it's begun
(Before you know it's begun)

Oh, it's all we've got tonight
Stop your crying hold on (tonight)
Before you know it it's gone (tonight)
Tonight is what it means to be young
Tonight is what it means to be young

Let the rebels begin
Let the fire be started
We're dancing for the restless and the broken-hearted
Let the rebels begin
Let the fire be started
We're dancing for the desperate and the broken-hearted
Let the rebels begin...(Tonight is what it means to be young...)
Let the fire be started...(Before you know it it's gone...)
We're dancing for the restless and the broken-hearted
Let the rebels begin
Let the fire be started
We're dancing for the desperate and the broken-hearted

Say a prayer in the darkness for the magic to come
No matter what it seams
Tonight is what it means to be young
Before you know it it's gone
Tonight is what it means to be young
Before you know it it's gone

I've got a dream when the darkness is over
We'll be laying in the rings of the sun
But it's only a dream and tonight is for real
You'll never know what it means
But you'll know how it feels
It's gonna be over (over)
Before you know it's begun

Oh, it's all we've got tonight
Stop your cryin' hold on (tonight)
Before you know it it's gone (tonight)
Tonight is what it means to be young
Tonight is what it means to be young...

The things they say
And then the things they do
Nothin's gonna stop us if our dream is true...

The Widow and the Devil

High atop a lonely moor, a Widow lived alone.
An Inn she kept, and as she slept,
her pillow heard her moan:
“Oh, many’s the lonely traveller
has spent the night with me,
but there’s no a man in all creation
gives content to me!

“Well, some can manage once or twice,
and some make three or four;
but it seems to me a rarity
is the man who can do more.
I’d do anything to find him,
in Heaven or in Hell.”
And as she spoke these words,
sure, she heard her front door bell.

And the wind blew cold and lonely
across that Widow’s moor,
and she never, ever turned away
a traveller from the door.

So boldly ran the Widow,
and the door did open wide,
and as she did, a tall and handsome
stranger stepped inside.
Well, she gave him bread and brandy,
and when that he was fed,
he said, “My dear, now have no fear;
it’s time to come to bed.

“For I’ve heard your plea
right down below,
and I’ve come to see you right.
But you must come to Hell with me
if I can last the night.”
She said, “You randy Devil!
To this bargain I’ll agree,
for Hell on Earth, or Hell in Hell,
it’s all the same to me!”

Now, as they tumbled in the bed,
the Devil, he proved well…
and he thought before the night would end
that she’d be in his Hell.
Ah, but when they came to number nine,
the Widow cried out, “More!”
And when the twelfth time came around,
the Widow cried, “Encore!”

At twenty-five the Devil
felt compelled to take a rest,
but the Widow cried,
“Come raise your head,
and put me to the test!”
At sixty-nine, the Widow laughed.
“Again! Again!” she cried,
and the Devil said,
“Well, I can see just how your husband died!”

At ninety-nine, the Devil
he began to wail and weep.
He said, “I’ll give you anything,
if you’ll let me go to sleep!”
But before the morning light was up,
the Devil hobbled home,
and the Widow, still not satisfied,
once more was left alone.

She lay there on her pillow
and she thought on ninety-nine.
“It’s a pity that poor old Devil
couldn’t manage one more time!
I’ll call him up again tonight
to see what can be done –
with a little more application,
we could make it to the ton!”

But when she called to him that night,
no Devil did appear.
For the first time in Eternity,
the Devil, he shook with fear.
He said, “Of all the torments
I’ve witnessed here in Hell,
I never knew what pain was,
’til I rang your front door bell!”

(Performed in Khem and Lothar)

I am the Rain

I am the rain
Held in disdain
Lotions and potions just add to my fame
The rime that in spain
Fall on the plain
The truth is I'm ruthless
I can't be contained.

I'm the rain

My friend the wind
To breath he is twinned
Blow high or low high
Tornadoes to spin

My mother the cloud
In widow's black shroud
Gives birth to the earth
Before fields can be plowed

Up in the sky, we've demand to supply
I am necessity, base of the recipe

I'm the rain

My cousin the snow
Lays blankets below
States that her falkes are
The threads to the soul

My rival the sun
Who ripens the plum
Is feared and revered
He gives sight to the gun

Up in the sky, we've demand to supply
I am necessity, base of the recipe

Up in the sky, we've demand to supply
I am necessity, base of the recipe

I am the rain, am the rain

Sacrament Of Wilderness"

Naked in midwinter magic
Lies an angel in the snow
- The frozen ficure crossed by tracks of wolves
An encounter, symbolic, yet truthful
With a hungry choir of woods
An agreement immemorial to be born

Dulcet elvenharps from a dryad forest
Accompany all charming tunes
of a sacrament by a campfire
A promise between the tameless
and the one with a tool
Tonight the journey from cave begins

I want to hunt with the tameless
I want to learn the wisdom of mountains afar
we will honor the angel in the snow
We will make the streams for our children flow

Wrapped in furs beneath the northern lights
From my cave I watch the land untamed
And wonder is some becoming season
will make the angel melt in shame

Insomnia

Deep in the bosom of the gentle night
Is when I search for the light
Pick up my pen and start to write
I struggle, fight dark forces
In the clear moon light
Without fear... insomnia
I can't get no sleep

I used to worry, thought I was goin' mad in a hurry
Gettin' stress, makin' excess mess in darkness
No electricity, something's all over me, greasy
Insomnia please release me and let me dream of
Makin' mad love to my guy on the heath
Tearin' off tights with his teeth
But there's no release, no peace
I toss and turn without cease
Like a curse, open my eyes and rise like yeast
At least a couple of weeks
Since I last slept, kept takin' sleepers
But now I keep myself pepped
Deeper still, that night I write by candle light
I find insight, fundamental movement, uh
So when it's back this insomniac take an original tack
Keep the beast in my nature under ceaseless attack
I gets no sleep
I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep
I can't get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep
(Performed in Bendir Dale)

The Ruathym Man's Kilt

A Ruathym man clad in kilt left the bar one evening fair
And one could tell by how he walked he'd drunk more than his share
He stumbled on until he could no longer keep his feet
Then staggered off into the grass to sleep beside the street.

Later on two young and lovely girls just happened by,
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
You see yon sleeping Ruathym man so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath their kilt.

They crept up to the sleeping Ruathym man quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt above the waist so they could see
And there behold for them to view beneath his Ruathym skirt
Was nothing but what the gods had graced him with upon his birth

They marveled for a moment then one said we'd best be gone
But let's leave a present for our friend before we move along
They took a blue silk ribbon and they tied it in a bow
Around the bonnie star of the Ruathym man's lifted kilt did show

The Ruathym man woke to nature's call and stumbled toward a trees
Behind a bush he lifts his kilt and gawks at what he sees
Then in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes
He said, "My friend I don't where you've been but I see you won first prize"

Kilted For Her Pleasure

I am young Ruathym man from Amia
The kilt is my pleasure it’s true
You can call it a skirt, but your lady will flirt
If she has a chance she’ll leave you.

I’m kilted [kilted], kilted [kilted]
With the mystery of what’s under there
I’m kilted [kilted], kilted [kilted]
Kilt inspectors will beg, to know my third leg
Is free as the fresh morning air

I have no red hair, but my skin is quite fair
But it does nothing to show off my pride
But my Ruathym family tree, I wear on me
And it makes the ladies giggle and sigh

I feel like a man both noble and strong
When I dance my kilt swishes in time.
But I must confess, it’s for the ladies I dress
And undress too. Is that a crime?

So don your kilt my good Ruathymian friends
And let your flag blow and unwind
If they ask what’s beneath, your kilted sheath
Tell them it’s lipstick they’ll find.
(Performed in Ralten's Retreat, Endir's Point)

The Rose Of Moonsea

How sweet is to roam by the sunny Tesh stream
And hear the doves coo 'neath the morning sunbeam
Where the thrush and the robin their sweet notes entwine
On the banks of the Tesh that flows down by Moonsea.
Flow on, lovely river, flow gently along
By your waters so sweet sounds the lark's merry song
On your green banks I wander where first I did see
With you, lovely Molly, the rose of Moonsea.

Oh Molly, dear Molly, it breaks my fond heart
To know that we two forever must part
I'll think of you Molly while sun and moon shine
On the banks of the Tesh that flows down by Moonsea.

Then here's to the Tesh with its valley so fair
As oftimes we wandered in the cool morning air
Where the roses are blooming and lilies grow free
On the banks of the Tesh that flows down by Moonsea.

Flow on, lovely river, flow gently along
By your waters so sweet sounds the lark's merry song
On your green banks I wander where first I did see
With you, lovely Molly, the rose of Moonsea.

The Hermit

A hermit once lived in a beautiful dell,
And it is no legend, this story I tell,
So my father declared, who knew him quite well,
The hermit.

He lived in a cave by the side of the lake,
Decoctions of herbs for his health he would take,
And only of fish could this good man partake
On Friday.

And most of his time he spent in repose.
Once a year he would bathe both his body and clothes.
How the lake ever stood it, the Lord only knows,
And He won't tell.

One day as he rose, dripping and wet,
His horrified vision three pretty girls met;
In matters of gallantry, he wasn't a vet,
So he blushed.

He grabbed up his hat that lay on the beach,
And covered up all that its wide brim would reach,
Then he cried to the girls in a horrified screech,
``Go away.''
But the girls only laughed at his pitiful plight,
And begged him to show them the wonderful sight,
But he clung to his hat with all of his might
To hide it.

But just at this moment a villainous gnat
Made the hermit forget just where he was at.
He struck at the insect, and let go of the hat --
``Oh, horrors!''

And now I have come to the crux of my tale.
At first he turned red, then he turned pale,
Then he offered a prayer, for prayers never fail,
So 'tis said.

Of the truth of this tale, there is no doubt at all.
The Lord heard his prayer and He answered his call:
Though he let go the hat, the hat didn't fall.
A blessed miracle!

Love Poem From a Knight to His Lady

I want to stay faithful, guard your honor,
Seek peace, obey
Fear, serve and honor you,
Until death,
Peerless Lady.

For I love you so much, truly,
that one could could sooner dry up
the deep sea
and hold back its waves
than I could constrain myself
from loving you,
without falsehood; for my thoughts
my memories, my pleasures
and my desires are perpetually
of you, whom I cannot leave or even briefly forget.
There is no joy or pleasure
or any other good that one could feel
imagine which does not seem to me worthless
whenever your sweetness wants to sweeten my bitterness.
Therefore I want to praise
and adore and fear you,
suffer everything,
experience everything, endure everything
more than I desire any reward.
. . . I want to stay faithful . . .

You are the true sapphire
that can heal and end all my sufferings,
the emerald which brings rejoicing,
the ruby to brighten and comfort the heart.
Your speech, your looks,
Your bearing, make one flee and hate and detest
all vice and cherish and desire all that is good.
. . . I want to stay faithful. . .

(Performed in Bendir Dale)

A Bunch of Wild Thyme

Come all ye maidens young and fair
And you that are blooming in your prime
Always beware and keep your garden fair
Let no man steal away your thyme

Chorus: For thyme it is a precious thing
And thyme brings all things to my mind
nlyme with all its flavours, along with all its joys
Thyme, brings all things to my mind

Once I and a bunch of thyme
i thought it never would decay
Then came a lusty sailor
Who chanced to pass my way
And stole my bunch of thyme away
Chorus

The sailor gave to me a rose
A rose that never would decay
He gave it to me to keep me reminded
Of when he stole my thyme away
Chorus

Turn Back Time

A song of sadness, rhymes of pain
The sounds of my tragedy, out in the rain, aha, out in the rain
I made my way and left you alone
I have denied you to be on my own, aha, to be on my own

While the years are passing by
The flame still burning inside
I still remember when you and I
Our love, it will never die

If I could turn back time
Ease my desire
I always remember
The sadness I've seen in your eyes

I call for my master, I'm calling his name
Mysterious laughter tortures my brain, aha, it tortures my brain
Stories of sadness, stories of pain
I'm telling my tales to the wind and the rain, aha, to the wind and the rain

All the dreams I had in my mind
Was doing whatever I like
I still remember when you and I
Our love, it will never die

Turn back time, ease my desire
I always remember the sadness I've seen in your eyes
If I could turn back the time, relieve my desire
It hurts me forever that I lost the love of my life

Turn back time, ease my desire
I always remember the sadness I've seen in your eyes
If I could turn back the time, relieve my desire
It hurts me forever that I lost the love of my life

If I could turn back the time, relieve my desire
It hurts me forever that I lost the love of my life

Crescent Moon

I'll hang my hat, on the crescent moon
and we'll dance, dance, dance
while the heavens play our tune
Upon the stars, I'll count your charms
And we'll dance, dance, dance
Till we are snuggling in each others arms

Let's dance, and sing
Effected by the altitude of our nocturnal fling
It's, a magic thing
And I am growing dizzy knowing what the night will bring
We are high above the rooftops as we dance and twirl
And far below we see the lights upon the world

We'll waltz, and sway
Acting out out parts, in our midnight play
You sweep me, away
Gliding on the starlight or each newborn moonlight ray
I could only wish the night would last forevermore
As we grow ever closer to Heaven's door

Let's enjoy, this precious time
Having you here with me must be Nature's own design
Having you, as mine
Heaven's intervention, truly was divine
Your the only reason in the world that I would say
I wish it could, be night each day

We'll waltz and swing, all night
And create a new sensation amidst the constellations
We don't mind the heights
and then we'll show the nations, our own interpretations
As we're gliding like a feather on the winds that rule above
The world will know that we're in love

(Performed in Wharfton)

Angel of Hope

Take me on your wing
together we will fly
let me see your memory thru the teardrop in my eye
Lift my spirit high
till I can touch your soul
take me on your wing
with all the love I bring
my sweet Angel of Hope

I search for you each moment
and wonder where you are
On summer winds and butterflies
I've searched from near and far
But I know you're here to comfort me
till I can find my way
and although you speak in silence
try to hear what you still say
when a springtime sky
that's full of clouds
reveals a patch of blue
and a warming sun comes shining thru
I know that can be you

This life is full of happenings
that we don't understand
Still you are my miracle
Blessed by God's own hand
And my miracle will be complete
And I'll be truly blessed
When I wrap my arms around you
and hold you close against my breast
Now we have a place for us
that we can call our own
As I gaze upon your smiling face
Sweet Angel of Hope

"Faerie Queen / Faerie Dance"

Over on the hill
There grows a flower
Growing quicker still
More perfect by the hour
Deep within that flower
Is a tiny chair
All a-fringed with gold
The fairy queen sits there...

It is in her breath
That the wind does blow
It is in her heart
As pure as winter snow
It is in her tears
Crystal raindrops fall
And within her years
That she is in us all...

Oh dark eyes
Help me see
Just one look
She is gone
Look on me
We are one
Fading with the setting sun...

As the willow bows
To her majesty
All the forest flowers
Love her mystery
Who would not admire
Who could not adore
Who does not desire
Who wishes to see more?

(Performed in Bendir Dale)

Time to Say Goodbye

(Performed in the Chondathan language)

Quando sono solo sogno all'orizzonte
E mancan le parole
Si lo so che non c' luce
In una stanza quando manca il sole
Se non ci sei tu con me, con me

Su le finestre
Mostra a tutti il mio cuore che hai accesso
Chiudi dentro me
La luce che hai incontrato per strada

Time to say goodbye paesi che non ho mai
Veduto e vissuto con te adesso si li vivro
Con te partiro su navi per mari che, io lo so
No, no, non esistono piu, it's time to say goodbye

Quando sei lontana sogno all'orizzonte
E mancane le parole
E io s lo so che sei con me, con me
Tu mia luna tu sei qui con me
Mio sole tu sei qui con me, con me, con me, con me

Time to say goodbye paesi che non ho mai
Veduto e vissuto con te adesso s li vivro
Con te partiro su navi per mari che, io lo so
No, no, non esistono piu con te io li rivivro

Con te partiro su navi per mari che, io lo so
No, no, non esistono pi con te io li rivivro
Con te partiro

Io con te

(In Common)
When I am alone I sit and dream
And when I dream the words are missing
Yes I know that in a room so full of light
That all the light is missing
But I don't see you with me, with me
Close up the windows, bring the sun to my room
Through the door you've opened
Close inside of me the light you see
that you met in the darkness

Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
Would I have to find them alone
without true light of my own with you
I will go on ships over seas
that I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye

When you were so far away
I sit alone and dream of the horizon
Then I know that you are here with me, with me
Building bridges over land and sea
Shine a blinding light for you and me
To see, for us to be

Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
Would I have to find them alone
without true light of my own with you
I will go on ships over seas
that I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye

so with you I will go
on ships over seas
that I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye

so with you I will go...

I love you

(Performed in Khem at the funeral of Fymor Trueshot)

The Minstrel Girl

The Minstrel Girl to the war is gone
In the ranks of death you will find her
Her father's sword she hath girded on
And her wild harp slung behind her

“Land of Song!" said the warrior bard,
"Tho' all the world betrays thee..
One sword, at least, thy rights shall guard,
One faithful harp shall praise thee!"
The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain
Could not bring that proud soul under;

The harp she loved never spoke again,
For she tore its chords asunder;
And said "No chains shall sully thee,
Thou soul of love and bravery!
Thy songs were made for the pure and free,
They shall never sound in slavery!"

The Minstrel Girl will return we pray
When we hear the news we all will cheer it,
The minstrel girl will return one day,
Torn perhaps in body, not in spirit.
Then may she play on her harp in peace,
In a world such as Heaven intended,
For all the bitterness of man must cease,
And every battle must be ended.
(Performed in Rethgaar)

Ex's and Oh's

Well, I had me a boy, turned him into a man
I showed him all the things that he didn't understand
Whoa, and then I let him go

Now, there's one in Wharfton who's been cursing my name
'Cause I found me a better lover down Khem way
Hey, hey, until I made my getaway

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

I had a summer lover down in Kohlingen
Kept him warm in the winter, left him frozen in the spring
My, my, how the seasons go by

I get high, and I love to get low
So the hearts keep breaking, and the heads just roll
You know that's how the story goes

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go

My ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
Climbing over mountains and a-sailing over seas
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

My ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go

Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

Feathery Wings

You, there on the bridge
Where've you been, what's your name?
And you, there on the wall
Where will you go to, once you fall?
You, lost at sea
Do you need me, do you need directions?
Hey, put down the knife
What were you thinking?
Please don’t end your life

The taste of tears
The sting of pain
The smell of fear
The sounds of crying, oh

A long, long time ago, I came to this place
From another small nation
And thrust amongst the beasts
And the way they behave, it borders on dementia
Now through all this time
I can barely take it
I don't think I can make it
Take me away from here
I want to go home
I'm so sick and tired of

The taste of tears
The sting of pain
The smell of fear
The sounds of crying, oh

As you're standing at the edge of your life
What do you remember?
Was it all you wanted?

I'm trying to earn a set of feathery wings
I wish I could protect you here
Oh, please don't cry, now, smile
As you're standing at the edge of your life
Your troubles are over
Mine are just beginning

I'm trying to earn a set of feathery wings
To take me away from here
It's me you leave behind

Oh, if only I could have been there
I'd be a hand for the sinking
If only I could have been there
I'd be a prayer for the dying
See the pain etched in my face,
Oh, I'm so sick and tired of

The taste of tears
The sting of pain
The smell of fear
The sounds of crying, oh

As you're standing at the edge of your life
What do you remember?
Was it all you wanted?

I'm trying to earn a set of feathery wings
I wish I could protect you here
Oh, please don't cry, now, smile
As you're standing at the edge of your life
Your troubles are over
Mine are just beginning

I'm trying to earn a set of feathery wings
To take me away from here
It's me you leave--

You're gone from here
Don't leave from here
Don't leave me here
I hate it here
You're gone from here
Don't leave me here
I need you here
I need to see you smile

"Slaver Bells" (Popular with the drow)
(To the tune of "Silver Bells")

Slaver Bells, Slaver Bells,
It's whipping time - in the city.
(Just hear that...)
Whimpering, whimpering,
Soon it will be auction day.

See the ladys, all parading,
Wearing shackles and chains.
As they hobble along the roadside.

See the men, dear,
Standing there dear,
Quite a sight to be seen.

And above all the ruckus, you hear...

Slaver bells, hear them yell.
It's whipping time - in the city.
(Oh hear those...)
Slavers sing, the money ring,
As they sell off - everyone.

Baby Got Beard
(to the tune of Baby Got Back)

I like big beards and I can not lie
You other dwarves can't deny
When a girl walks in with a big thick waist
And hair all over her face
You get sprung
Wanna pull up tough
Cuz you notice that face was scruffed
Deep in the helm she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh, baby I wanna get with ya
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But that beard you got
Make Me so horny
Ooh, ain't got smooth skin
You say you wanna get in my clan
Well use me use me cuz you aint that average groupie
I've seen them smithin'
The heck with romancin'
She sweats, wet, gots whiskers like my uncle Chet

I'm tired of elven queens
With their smooth little things
Take the average dwarf and ask him that
Her face has gotta scratch, so
fellas (yeah) fellas (yeah)
Has your dwarf-girl got the beard? (heck yeah!)
Don't let her shave it, shave it
Keep that healthy beard...

Baby got beard...

Hairy face makes for dwarven beauty...

I’ll tell my cat

I’ll tell my cat when I come home,
“Leave the furniture alone.”
She tore my sheets and shred my couch.
I’m tired of coming home a grouch.

–chorus–
But she is loving. She is pretty.
And I am so whipped by my kitty.
Her claws catch my sleeve, rips 1, 2, 3
Please won’t you leave the curtains be.

I tell her each morning that I love her.
But my shoes need laces so please don’t chew ’em.
She mews real sweet then knocks over a candle
Now she’s gnawing on my sandles.

Out of the bathroom she struts quite bold,
A roll of toilet paper clung to her toe.
I really wonder if I will kill her
When her mouth has feathers from my pillow.

Let the thunder storms crash all night long
She’ll be too scared to rend my thong.
She may be shivering from fright,
But at least this weekend I’ll have my tights.

I bought her a scratch post of her own.
So she’ll leave my living room alone.
But I come home to see only fluff and filling
If she hadn’t just meowed, there’d be a killin’.

–chorus–
–last chorus–
She is loving. She is pretty.
And I am so whipped by my kitty.
Her claws catch my sleeve, rips 1, 2, 3
I never liked those curtains anyway.

The Bard's Song

As I walked out one quiet evening
At the hour of twelve at night
Who should I meet but a fair young maiden
Combin' her hair by candle light;
Lassie, I have come a-courtin'
Your kind favours for to win
And if you'd heed my petition
I would be your Paladin...

(CHORUS)
Gather roses in the Springtime
Gather roses while ye may,
Time is passing; roses wither;
Winter comes; we're here -today-.

Have you seen the dew a-formin'
On the grass at early morn?
Have you seen the forest quiet,
Or a stag that's barely born?
Have you seen the dawn a-breakin'
O'er the Western Ocean's tide?
Have you felt my heart a-beatin'
When it's held close to your side?

I can give no gold or silver,
I can give no fields of land,
I can give no servants brisk
To wait on you both foot and hand;
I can give you wide roads callin'
Wind and Rain, and Moon and Sun,
Songs to sing, and love and laughter,
Dresses made of plain home-spun.

Come dance with me upon the greensward
in the moonlight, in the Spring.
Dance with me within the forest
Dance with me within the ring!
Earth below us, stars above us,
Fire and water by our side,
Dance with me within the moonlight,
Dance with me, and be my Bride!

What Do We Do With A Sober Miner?

What do we do with a sober miner;
What do we do with a sober miner;
What do we do with a sober miner;
Early in the morning

Heave-haul and up she rises!
Heave-haul and up she rises!
Heave-haul and up she rises!
Early in the morning

Stick him in the still till' his livers fail him;
Stick him in the still till' his livers fail him;
Stick him in the still till' his livers fail him;
Early in the morning

-Chorus-

Put him in a dress when the elves are watching;
Put him in a dress when the elves are watching;
Put him in a dress when the elves are watching;
Early in the morning

-chorus-

Tie him to a rope and drop him in the magma;
Tie him to a rope and drop him in the magma;
Tie him to a rope and drop him in the magma;
Early in the morning

-chorus-

Order him to drink dry the aquifier;
Order him to drink dry the aquifier;
Order him to drink dry the aquifier;
Early in the morning

-chorus-

Stick him headfirst in the still and leave him;
Stick him headfirst in the still and leave him;
Stick him headfirst in the still and leave him;
Early in the morning

That's what we do with a sober miner;
That's what we do with a sober miner;
That's what we do with a sober miner;
Early in the morning
