So I've been trying to get back in the game for a couple months; but I am halted by a sudden issue that has risen up on both of my computers. It seems the moment I join Amia my FPS drops down to 1 and it becomes impossible to play or do anything. I figured this might have been simply an issue with Amia so I reinstalled the Amia hakpaks and TLK. Still have the problem. I tried reinstalling NWN. Still have the problem. I checked to see how the game functions on single player to see if this was an Amia only issue. The game runs fine in single player for the most part, but when I hit the esc key and bring up the menu, the menu suddenly drops to FPS1 and there is a huge delay on all my options after that point. So it isn't an Amia problem, nor an NWN problem. Does anyone here maybe know how to fix my issue?

I had this issue and solved it by fiddling with the sound settings. Dunno why it worked, or if will for you, but might work?

Changing the sound options in it directly seemed to work for some reason I've no idea why.

No change with the other options?

Have you tried a clean install?
Don't delete your nwn folder just yet but move it to another area and install another nwn and try to run it. See if it's an issue with your computer or your install and if the new install works just download or reinstall the necessary haks.

I actually did try this last night, and I was hoping I would get results but unfortunately I did not.

Disabling Shinny Water option thing on Video Options of the Game always did wonders for me.

This is not looking good guys... Shiny Water - Disabled, Compatibility Mode on, Up to date on all drivers including sound, and edited nwnplayer.ini. Was really hoping the .ini would fix it since it actually didn't have a line for Max Memory Usage. No luck yet

A Virtual Machine, although if you don't know what that is it might be a bit overkill to just learn that just for NWN...
// EDIT: Basically, you can Emulate another computer as a Virtual Machine on your Computer, so you can use Windows XP or something while actually using Windows 10.

I thought maybe making my machine run linux as a last resort might work too, I am curious to learn about the virtual machine.

Have you attempted to run the game in windowed mode?

Currently I have a fix for this issue and that is to simply uninstall the update. Not much of a fix but a temporary solution. So I will be in game for now. What I really need to do is to figure out how to get my PC to stop updating. so I don't have to delete an update every time I want to play NWN.
