I would like to know if the bardic colleges described in Song and Silence can be roleplayed in Amia (mainly interested about the League and Arcanobiological Studies). If so, can a character arrive in the island as a member or does the entry process have to be roleplayed in Amia in its entirety?

No, those colleges specifically don't exist in the Realms. There used to be bardic colleges but they mostly disappeared, and recently one has been established/revived in I think Waterdeep. There might be more. I don't know where you'd find more lore on that, probably the recent Waterdeep books. But I stress, those introduced in Song and Silence are generic, core D&D and not part of our setting's history.

The novel Elfsong is somewhat informative. I'll have to think about other potential sources. I will check it out, see if I can find the PDF or something. I was mainly thinking of the ones from Song and Silence because they sparked ideas when I reread it a couple days ago. I played a Lliiran bard in Amia in days past, but I guess its better to let him rest in peace in the vault and play a new one. Thank you again for the reply and information.

Well while there won't be as specific, thematic colleges in the Realms, I don't see why you couldn't add a specific twist or interest to your character along those lines.

That is neat to know, I may just go that route. From what I can see in the forums there are plenty of factions in Amia so I dont even have to bother about my PC creating or having one to join. On a side note, what is your opinion on Voice of Thunder bards? Mechanically I guess I can go for Still Spell and Perform feats and emule the voice magic with song and arcane, but are they ok in Amia at all? Silverymoon has a University called the Conclave of Silverymoon. It's made up of multiple colleges, one of which is a Bard college called The House of The Harp.
