Here is a brief overview of the isle of Brogendenstein. Anyone doing cursory research on the isle should be able to find this information easily.

The island of Brogendenstein is a dominated by two mountains Grumdek Murr on the north east side and Khazat Murr on the south west side. Of the two mountains, Grumdek Murr is by far the larger, climbing high above the tree line.

The weather on Brogendenstein is fueled by a consistent cold stream of air that blows south and east out of the northwestern reaches of The Trackless Sea. The northwest side of the isle, commonly called the Frozenwastes bears the brunt of the ice cold weather patterns while the south west side which is sheltered by the two mountains is home to a small piney forest.

Grumdek Murr is home to several resilient species of animals that have adapted well including the Northern Dodos, Great Northern Bear, Northern Mega-Bison, Northern Wolves and the elusive Northern Saber Tooth Tiger. It is also home to a particularly ruthless and brutal tribe of Frost Giants who inhabit the northern side near a place the dwarves have aptly named Issturm (Ice Giant) Pass. A recent earthquake has leveled the remnants of an old tower that once stood at the peak of the mountain. This tower is known to have been a way into the original dwarven kingdom that was built in the bowels of Grumdek Murr, now simply known as The Underkingdom.

The Underkingdom was for some time a very prosperous dwarven city, known for its rich adamantine deposits. Sometime in DR 1308 The Underkingdom was attacked by an army of Duergar. During the ensuing war the dwarves of the Underkingdom were routed out of their halls and forced to flee to the surface of Brogendenstein, where life was not easy for them. As for The Underkindom… After the dwarves were routed out the Duergar made it their home, but even that was short lived, as they would soon be wiped out by a tribe of Fire Giants that still wander the forgotten halls.

Over the next 62 years the dwarves would made a small settlement at the base of Khazat Murr where they built a small port. Unfortunately things would not remain peaceful for very long there. In DR 1371 A vampire lord known as Kraven would sweep out of the Frozenwastes with his undead legions and raise the small settlement. Ultimately Kraven was slain in the ensuing fight, but not before the damage was done. It was at this time that the dwarves began to build what is now known as Barak Runedar, a new dwarven strong hold with in the bowels of Khazat Murr, which was rich in precious metals and other ores.

Other places of note on Brogendenstein are the Frozenwastes and the Snowy Forest. The Frozenwastes are home to a tribe of Yeti that fiercely defend their territory. They are also home to some fey that are not welcoming to strangers at all. On the far western point of the isle there is a strange manor that has stood since time immemorial. This is what The Vampire Lord Kraven once called home. It is still inhabited by many of his undead minions and some of their ghastly creations. The other place of note is the piney forest on south eastern side of the isle called The Snowy Forest. Two very different tribes have settled in or near the forest. The first is a fierce tribe of humans who have made a home in the limited shelter of the forest at the southern base of Grumdek Murr. The second is a tribe of vicious orcs who prey on any that wander The Snowy Forest.

According to the official timeline, Kraven attacked in 1374 rather than 1371. In real time, that was one year before the Revolution (August 2007). In Amia time, it would have been two years since the Day of Revolution is 17th Mirtul 1376 (17.5.2008).
