I've been thinking for a while it would be interesting if the Crouching Lemur Monastary became more active. My character, Vera Talen, would probably be interested in leading a new push for lessons, training, and putting out a call to monks.
Many bind to the portal for the monastary, but are any truely members of the monastary?
Here's what I know thus far:
- There are at least 7 NPC monks on the grounds.
- Two guards
- The portal keeper
- The merchant
- Master Tsn
- The brewer
- Panthalo Hillsburton
- In the words of Master Tsn: "This is the Crouching Lemur Monastary. In ancient times these ruins were a dojo, in which our ancestors trained to fight and protect Amia in the First Ages. Ruins now, they still have latent power--inspiring us to be as our great fore-fathers once were!"
- Panthalo is of the Old Order and teaches others about the different orders. He will also provide kits to those with the gold and the training.
And here are my questions.
Note many of them are things that Vera would likely discuss ICly with Tsn as well.
- What order does the Crouching Lemur Monastary represent? (If any)
- Can others officially join the monastary?
- Can other master monks who join the monastary carry any authority on the grounds for the good of the monastary?
- Would Master Tsn be willing to lend or share control with another master who has the best interests of the monks and the protection of the land in mind?
My reason for going into this detail is that I am considering it would be an interesting thing for a PC character to lead the monastary like other factions on Amia and the other islands.
I considered my character Vera who is a purist master monk creating her own faction, but with an existing monastary without PC leadership, I think it could bring interest, plot, and a little drama back into the crags to involve more active participation at the Lemur.
