Post subject:  Lore QUestion: Dwarven Deity
Looking to make a Dorf. I needa deity though, a good one! I'm looking to make a cleric that would have access to the following domians:

Nobility & War

There must be one for Dorfs! Halp meh!

No dwarven deity has nobility as their domain, but Clangeddin Silverbeard, Gorm Gulthyn and Haela Brightaxe all have war in their domains.

But as for dwarf gods, your choices would be:

Clangeddin Silverbeard LG LG LN NG Courage Dwarf Good Law Strength War

Dumathoin NN CN LN NE NG NN Cavern Craft Dwarf Earth Knowledge Protection
Gorm Gulthym LG LG LN NG Dwarf Good Law Protection Strength War
Haela Brightaxe CG CG CN NG Chaos Community Dwarf Good Luck War
Marthammor Duin NG CG LG NG NN Community Dwarf Good Protection Strength Travel
Sharindlar CG CG CN NG Chaos Charm Dwarf Good Healing Moon

There is also Thard Harr if you wanted to play a wild dwarf, or Laduguer and Deep Duerra, if you played a Duergar.

As was said, no Dwarven Deities possess Nobility as a domain on the server. But I would ask what the significance of Nobility would be to the character. If it is preservation of dwarven ideals, way of life, or history, Law or Community would still be a serviceable domains. If it was the bonus to social skills from the Nobility prayer you were looking at, Community gets Skill Focus: Persuade as their Domain ability. If it was the Nobility class ability you wanted, Community prayer gives bonus HP to party members, so you could still buff your fellow stunties.

If that sounds doable, Moradin has both Community and War along with Haele Brightaxe and Marthammor Duin. Then it just becomes a question of what the PC is supposed to be. Moradin has his Sonnlinor, Haele has her war maidens, and Marthammor has his travel wardens.

At the moment just tossing around some ideas around some fun build concepts and then build off of that for a stuntie. Was thinking a crossbow man or a warrior type since I really don't have any warriors at the moment.

Although the domain mixes don't exist for dwarves which makes me sad, but this is fine I was curious about the Dwarven pantheon regardless for what I wanted to make. Thanks for all the help :D

Oof can't believe I missed Moradin off the list.. It was late.

Moradin LG LG LN NG Craft Dwarf Earth Good Law Protection

Moradin doesn't have war but has protection and law.

Edit: I was listing Amia specific deity domains as per the deity system side bar. They do differ from the FR canon law which is in that link I posted and the ones DI used. I am not sure the DMs policy for using the canon ones by request or if you have to stuck with the Amia ones.

What ever happened to Hanseath? He was the dwarves God of barbarians and alcohol way back at some point but I only found a Wikipedia entry on him.

He died of wife beating and alcohol poisoning.

Plus I think he is a new god invented in D&D 3.5 Races of Stone supplement. Not a FR canon deity I believe.

Not FR, no.

For a crossbow guy, Marthammor Duin would probably fit best.

For something a bit different, if you plan on going the more traditional warrior type cleric, try Gorm Gulthyn. I mean, Clangeddin and Haela are generally awesome as far as gods go, they're dwarven gods, but they're still the rowdier type of battle gods. Gorm is more of the protective, law-upholding paladin-esque type. Besides, being a priest of Gorm gives you access to the coolest-sounding priest term ever, Barakor.
