Hi everyone, new to server and have been drawn to the custom "Knight Commander" class and I'm trying to incorporate it into a Cleric RP build and would be interested in the thoughts of those in the know about such things.

This character is already in game and as of writing only level 7 and what is in the orange is what I have already taken and what is in the green is potentially what I will take subject to the collective wisdom of you guys :)

The premise is the character is a Cleric of Salandra but with a military background as a soldier who also honours the Red Knight, he is in his mid 20s and somewhat of a leader trying to reconcile his faith and his military training.

Ultimately he wants to put his faith and military training to use as a hunter of undead, filling his spell slots with heal and mass heal to blow up skelemens thanks to Healing and Community domains.

Extend Spells was taken for buff boosting.

Maximise Spell was taken for attribute buff boosting

Silent Spell will be taken for more heals and mass heals slotted.

Was contemplating stacking 5 points into Dex and three feats into Spring Attack to enable safe maneuver around a battlefield however Craft Wand for death ward crafting and higher Wisdom and Charisma seem viable as well as two free feat slots (not filled with dodge and mobility) that presumably might be used to improve the damage somehow of heal spells against undead?

But unsure which would be better and would appreciate some other perspectives.

Thanks in advance

Cleric 23/Knight Commander 5/Rogue 2

It really depends on what route you want to take. Caster or Mele cleric?

Mele I would get your Wisdom to 20 for epic spells and then pour the rest of the points into strength.

Looking at caster I suppose, aimed at using heal spells to blow up undead so if I didn't going the spring attack option was going to get 20 Wisdom and stack the rest into Charisma to make it easier to cap out KC aura bonuses and leave more room on equipment for Strength and other mythal powers.

Also I read here that the KC and Cleric buffs would make the epic summons pretty amazing so seems worth to get the Charisma to 20 asap via innate and gear.

That should work. Get Divine Shield btw. Even as a caster cleric you can use full plate + divine shield to have gloriously high AC.

From spells I would probably grab Evocation (Sunbeam for Undead which you want to kill, Implosion for everyone and everything else :) ).

BTW: Silent spells are useless in fights. Maximize seems not so important unless you want to suplement equipment by buffs, which is not needed.

EDIT: blind me :D

I thought the idea behind Silent Spell is the functionality of being able to stack more spells of the same type for example Heal is innate level 6, if I load up Silent Spell slots I can fill 7th level slots with Heal too.

Maximise Spell is for those +5 attribute buffs like Bull strength, which enables gear planning as you account for the +5s, also you can Maximise a cure spell which will then be empowered by the healing domain for a nice bit of damage to undead or healing.

I'm not sure about the Divine shield as doesn't that still require me to waste a feat on Power Attack?

I'm thinking that at the epic levels the character will be summoning the epic summon and buffing the hell out of it and boosting it with KC auras so maybe I don't need to use two feats for +5 ac? Not sure?

Maybe there are spell focus or penetration feats I could take in place to make the undead blow up a little faster?

Oh also when should I take the first rogue level if I'm taking the 2nd at 27 for the skill dump?

Never knock free AC. Especially because your AC bonus from Divine shield would be an 8 with your CHA fully buffed. Makes spring attack moot.

There's nothing wrong with Silent Spell, because yeah, you can stack a bunch of the same spell at different levels if you'd like. That's the only benefit to clerics of course, but it's still worth noting.

I'd reconsider the domains. They both give Mass Heal at a lower level (6 and 7, respectively), and you hardly need that if you take Silent Spell. Of course, you could also consider this as a sign that you don't need Silent Spell. (I use it on my cleric to shift a few Harms, but admit that I haven't found as many uses for the feat as I thought I would. I also have Community domain but just shift the Mass Heal back to level 8 with Silent in my current spell book setup ... Then again, I'm still looking for the best setup.)

Sadly, Salandra's domains seem to overlap in spells quite a lot. The Community domain itself is useful in my opinion, but I wouldn't know what to combine it with from the selection of Balance, Community, Healing, Good, Protection, Renewal. Maybe Healing + Protection gives you a good mix of things that are not just focused on restoring HP. If you do take Silent Spell, you will have Mass Heal at level 6, 7, 8, and 9. :)

The weird Maximize and Healing domain effect doesn't seem to be worth it, though: Even the Healing domain spell Cure Serious at level 2 will be level 5 when maximized. Healing domain gives Heal at the same level, which heals/hurts a lot more.

If Maximize itself is worth it, I'm no longer sure. It's very convenient in PvE, but Cleric's don't have access to Cat's Grace (except for some domains), so that makes Maximize a bit less useful. Then again, a constant +5 to STR, CON, WIS and CHA (if you have Divine X) is not too shabby. ;)

If you are going for a caster Cleric, you would want the highest DC possible. So pick Epic Spell Focus or a few Great WIS. I guess you could choose either Conjuration (for Mass Heal and Storm of Vengeance) or Evocation (Implosion, Earthquake). Epic Focus Conjuration would work nicely with an Epic Dragon Knight summon. Spell Penetration wouldn't hurt either, but the basic Spell Pen feat is available on items, so I'd not take it at all or at least Greater Spell Pen.

Divine Shield is quite good if you can fit it and a bit of CHA in. Alternatively, you could hide with the Haven spell when you panic and just spam Heals. Of course, that usually won't kill anything.

Regards
Ts

Lots of food for thought thank you all for your comments, certainly got some mulling over to do as I get closer to those epics!
