I was crafting some clothing(and had a couple minutes prior succesfully done so), put a bolt of Rothe Wool into the bench, then upon closing it accidentially exited the follow up conversation. This lead to the bench remaining in the open animation and the conversation menu no longer opened. Trying it in a different location on another bench worked.

This happens quite often, and it's usually best to just be careful when using the work stations in the future. As far as I'm aware there's no fix except for the server resetting.
