I have looked over the sidebar and have an idea the level cap here is level 30?

I just want to confirm that rather then 40.

Also, are there any special requirements to advance to Epic levels?

I've decided to start playing NwN again and found your server in a Google Search, spent the last few hours reading and seeing if there appears to be a good population for the server and am impressed at the work that has been put into your little slice of RP life.

Seems a good community also so, here I be.

Lastly, yes, I am THE Simeron Steelhammer in case anyone really cares. If you want to know why I said that just PM me.

The level cap is indeed 30 and no, there are no special requirements to advance into epic.

That said, welcome and enjoy your stay!

Welcome to the server, and slk is right. We also don't have SD/RDD/PM/whatever class tokens like some other servers require to take those.

It's extremely difficult to balance PvM mobs against anything lvl 30-40.

Yes, I do understand that. I was a server DM for a very, very long time and actually beta tested NwN 1 for two years.

Which is why I said I was the REAL Simeron Steelhammer...lol. Rob Bartel and Bioware gave me a little gift that is still in the game today, many moons past its launch and its more valuable to me then if they gave me alot of real gold I tell you.

Still have the original CDs too for each one of the expansions and all....good times I tell ya.

Thank you for the warm welcome, I will probably wander into the game later tonight I would think. Maybe tomorrow.

Real life being as it is....you know...heh

Folks tell me it be nah much but, it serves me well.

*nods head with a wink, putting his pipe back in his mouth and puffs a smoke ring of dried rose petals and lavender*

Now, have a corn muffin o' mine. Right good with a little goat butter.

I love RP and am overly active (I am told) in doing so. And to be honest, sometimes my RP is taken a bit to....seriously...by folks so, I've pulled back somewhat in these days...one reason I am here is to see if I can find a place that I can bring my characters to life and give some good times to others.

I figure RP is not something for your characters advancement (least not most of the time)...its to make a story...like we are all actors on the stage....

An example, who may show up here.....

I had a LE Black Mage that wore a cloth mask to hide his emotions from others...there was a lady paladin that was his "enemy" of Illmater. Before they were in the town, they both served a rather cruel man and my character was the one that was normally paired with her for their "sessions".

All that was backstory...and, at level 5, she tossed me a curve ball and basically told me to kill her, she couldn't take it anymore because she had fallen in love with another paladin of Torm and I would end up having to kill him and that was even too much suffering for her to bear.

My guy had never seen anyone do that...and he didn't have a cruel streak at all. For him, it was about power and control. He believed because of his life that power makes the rules therefore, you must have all the power you can and then, make the rules for others.

This ended up causing an alignment shift (with DM help and approval and the loss of 1 level) to LN.

Things progressed into a VERY nice storyline but, sadly, a few people on the server took to thinking SIMERON was doing what the mage was doing and took offense....and then, as happens, there was the miscommunication that cause a big blow up....sigh.

Everything was cool with the powers that be and most understood the misunderstanding. Many still had wonderful times with the mage and in the end, he was very involved in DM quests and events and made a very memorable history on the server.

When real life finally made me leave, he was given a grand departure story for two nights...

He was even "imprisoned" many times and finally, kept in a dungeon because he though his wife was murdered and went "insane"....and frankly, when you are a level 21 Necromancer and have been put into the second in charge place of the "Obsidian Tower"...which was the Black Mage secret service of the server...think the Secret Service meets the Super Ninja Squad, yeah...its not good to be insane when you have that kind of power....lol....he HAD to be stopped....

Took 3 level 22 paladins and a level 21 cleric to do it too...heh heh...yeah, I knew how to play him good too....

Did I mention he carried a large shield and used a katana for his weapon even though he was pure mage?

No armor mind you but yeah, pure mage and used shield and exotic....was human too....go figrue...

I think apart from Simeron Steelhammer, Kali Fi was my next favorite character and have the fondest memories of him.

I have quite a few more...Lucas De' Mon, shadow monk...Cedric Willowood, my cleric that wants to be a paladin....all had their purpose...and its normally to be someone that others can RP with and off of....

Lucas was made specifically because someone wanted to be hunted...Cedric was made because a small group needed a cleric that was the "always looks at the bright side of things"...

I think Luna Star will show up here too....female elven bard/sorc that had a touch of Silver Dragon in her (RDD)....

I can see alot of possibilities....at least, I have a lot of hope.

This being said...if anyone would like to fill me in to the...ahem....political landscape OUTSIDE the game world...*wink*

Or if you want to set up some RP things....maybe you need an apprentice...or a student...or shoot, an old wise battle harden and world weary Dwarven Cleric, Fighter, DD that smokes a pipe with dried rose petals and lanvender (helps me nose tapping it with his pipe stem) that drinks cinnamon honey mead, eats corn muffins with goat butter and reads with rose tinted spectacles too....HAR HAR HAR...

Ahn yes....I use a HAMMER ya blasted idgit...a HAMMER...and YES I am a DWARF...every try to make some armor or a good weapon wit just ah axe?

Sometimes people is soooo stupid....

Welcome to Amia!

Good to see a serious role-player on board, and I hope to interact with you in-game.
Crow can be a prick at times, but don't ever take it personal please, he's not me, and I'm not him.
Main thing is: have fun!

I never do. The way I see it, we are actors and actresses on the stage and the play is for the other actors and actresses on the stage...which is kinda nice.

I have added two characters to the forum to introduce them....I think Simeron will remain in the background for a bit as will some others.

I want to see about Cedric and Kali Fi....they I believe will be good starters...a cleric and a rogue/wizard.

I do have some questions though I would like to ask so I think I will start another thread also.

First night was okay...had some DM love (a nice welcome) and even found one other player that did a brief RP and helped me out.

Still learning the server, didn't venture about much but yes...very much so far I have enjoyed it and am probably a bit too eager to get into the game and make my way...lol.

thank you
