Okay, let's get real here, only 14 of you are telling the truth, lol!
As a player of a man who actively pursues any girl who breathes (and some girls who don't) and ALL of them are taken... by women.
Just saying. This poll was so amusing.

Well, perceived creepiness aside...
I think it does generally suck when you have a character in a relationship where one character is active and the other is not. Not because I think two characters need to spend their every waking moments together in game but for the completely opposite reason. The inactive characters miss out on the active character's interaction with other people.
While the active character gets to develop because they're interacting with other characters, plot, and so on, the inactive character get left out on all of the development of their partner ICly. So there's this... Weird... Gap between the two characters who are supposedly lovers/partners/married/cohabitating/whathaveyou. Your partner could be a whole different person next time you log in while you remain completely stagnant and ignorant of their changes and lives. It can be seriously awkward. "What do you mean you got enslaved while I was in bed rest?"
Kinda like Merrien said, it's so hard to make it really work, I think it's great when people have something genuine beyond "Oh I love triple D bimbos. Let's hook them up!"

Only believable relationship ive seen IG was between Gill bensbennard (EO) and mina ashby (Dragon disciple). But it rrsulted in some serious obsession from the player of Gill and resulted in a Permaban.
Since then ive avoided all type of relationship RP.

Really? I mean... really? *NOD NOD* Really... Again...its all relative to the people involved. Tomato Sword hit the nail very well IMHO also as to alot of the "why"... When you are outside that 5 levels...you lose alot of the "flow" that a romantic RP can get because you won't tend to hunt together. Things that happen in the life of your character get missed, the RP off one another is lessened. For example, Amenia and Krugan "know" each other because her player and I have learned to play off each other's RP style when we put on Amenia and Krugan. She is a very good RPer (to me at least) and she is more then willing to let me as Krugan draw alot of attention. Likewise, I am more then willing to be the doting husband madly in love with his wife and doing all he can to let her blossom and shine. It's lead to alot of interesting things...like last night when Krugan was trapped in a rather unique trap. He blundered into it, out of sheer worry over some other players involved due to the RP of the wedding. Otherwise, he would not have known the players from anyone else, wouldn't have cared and would have wandered on by. Instead, he ended up in a very sticky situation that Amenia and the other players were laughing themselves silly (at least I have reason to believe so) as poor Krugan was in that pickle that most men would have loved. He, being the odd little fella he is, hated it. On many, many levels. The original concept for Krugan has really totally changed. He started out as the bitter, me against the world, won't let anyone see the real me that was a callous, hard, uncaring person. He bore nobody ill will but neither did he feel any reason to toss a coin to a beggar or help anyone out without having a "chip" to cash in later. The romance RP with first Sahara, who is already a fantastic Rper I might add, opened the path in my mind to Krugan "growing"...which lead to Amenia...and everything that has come since then. None of this would have happened without that Romance RP and players that can and did play off Krugan. I know quite a few others that are equally great in the Romance RP area...some have more drama (if you can believe it) then me and some have alot less. The big pitfall is of course the one already mentioned here...having the IG RP move from IG to RL when one (or more) of the players don't want it to. That said, I have seen twice in my NwN time, the IG romance actually lead to a RL marriage. And sadly, two times, a RL Divorce. That is the pitfall that I dread and so, I am very careful and timid (yeah, me timid..shaadup) about doing this. Thankfully, most here that have interacted with my characters on a romantic level are equally sensitive to this and have in one way or another let me get to a comfortable level of things while getting comfortable themselves (I think). There is no "rule" that says you have to have a romantic RP of course and each players level of comfort with it, or even if they have any inclination for it, will be and should be different. And I will clarify this...this is just my gut talking. I'm in no way saying anything except my own views on romance RP that works for one person...Simeron... Again, my 2 US dollars worth of text...worth about 2 cents on a good day..*wink*

For the record, since this is being talked about again: Mains 1 male char, straight, engaged 1 female char, pansexual, currently with a woman 1 male char, straight, single 1 female char, bisexual, kinda with a woman? (that's due to tending to gravitate towards the same RP partners, really) Semi-main 1 male char, straight, uninterested at present 1 male char, straight(?), more liable to stab than be in love My first female char actually held no real preference (though a slight one towards women due to her past history), as she loved people for who they are. My second, well, no spoilers but she's aware of the power of sex. So, yes, she's highly available to men as well. edit: Do to obligatory schooling by Kalecgos and Tomato Sword, Salema is actually pansexual

Incorrect! Ilias doesn't DO romance RP. He does emotional rollercoaster RP. The RP is less relationship more of a long drawnout break up. Bahahahaha, am I right?

Pedophilia, Necrophilia and Bestiality are "deviances" and are uncalled for ... well, anywhere. Illegal also. Illegal in probably 99% of the world, there are a few spots its not.
