I've already asked another DM who says that there isn't actually a idol of Ilsensine.. Which is understandable to say the least.
But I got a few questions.. Is there a way of being able to have the benefits of worshiping Ilsensine without actually being able to go to the idol.
ALSO yes, the whole point of me asking this in the first place was to check out if it would be feasible to play -not an illithid- but a evil mage who has interests in mind control, psionic stuff etc.
As I've just typed that, readin over I see a flaw. I saw on another post someone saying "Telepathy=bad" or something along the lines of that.
I kinda get it. Players might not be happy being enthralled or having their thoughts seen.
Ah well.. Thought I'd post it anyway to see the generaly opinion

It's possible to worship it, I suppose. I don't know if it's a Realms deity, because it's introduced in core products. But most monster deities are like that.
There is no LE deity with the magic domain on Amia, though, so there's no fit substitute for clerics. The deity system is just some flavor to steer people in the right direction, but there's no need to use it at all. In fact, considering the "benefits" of the system and letting that affect your game too much is one of the worst downsides of the system, IMO.
Another interesting, Realms-specific deity is Auppenser. The now-dead (well, almost) god of psionics, he's not well known but still venerated by the few psionics who remember Jhaamdath's legacy. But that's more suitable for DM approved psionics, not so much wizards with Enchantment spells.
All kinds of mind spells are fine, but telepathy isn't. There's much more to mind-affecting spells than just telepathy, though.

Iron, Illsenine is a realms deity, he is mentioned in a few books, Underdark when speaking of one of the Mind flayer cities, and I believe champions of ruins or is it lords of darkness, one of them mentions a group called the unworthy of illseine.
